ABSTRACT

Mesocotyl elongation is a key trait influencing seedling emergence and establishment in direct-seeding rice cultivation. The phytohormone gibberellin (GA) has positive effects on mesocotyl elongation in rice. However, the physiological and molecular basis underlying the regulation of mesocotyl elongation mediated by GA priming under deep-sowing conditions remains largely unclear. In the present study, we performed a physiological and comprehensive transcriptomic analysis of the function of GA priming in mesocotyl elongation and seedling emergence using a direct-seeding

ABSTRACT

In view of the adverse effects of CDOM (chromophoric or colored dissolved organic matter) on in vivo algal pigment concentration measurements in natural water bodies, a CDOM influence correction method for algal concentration measurements based on three-dimensional fluorescence spectra is investigated. The three-dimensional fluorescence spectra of five common species of algae belonging to five categories, HA (humic acid), and natural water sampled from the Dongpu reservoir, Hefei were analyzed, and the spectral similarity of endogenous/exogenous CDOM in the algal fluorescence spectra region was compared. HA was selected to represent the CDOM spectrum group. The CDOM modified algal pigment concentration measurement method was developed using three-dimensional fluorescence spectra coupled with non-negative weighted least squares linear regression analysis. The results show that under the presence of CDOM interference factors, the recognition accuracy rate of Pyrrophyta, Bacillariophyta, Cyanophyta, and Chlorophyta increased 100%, 100%, 40%, and 40%, respectively. The average recovery rate of Cryptomonas, Pyrrophyta, Bacillariophyta, and Chlorophyta increased 162.7%, 50.3%, 106.4%, and 19.1%, respectively. In addition, the classification accuracy of Pyrrophyta, Bacillariophyta, Cyanophyta, Chlorophyta increased 83.9%, 100%, 38.2%, and 48%, respectively. This was concluded by comparing these results with the results of the algal pigment concentration measurement method without the CDOM modification. This study provides an experimental basis for the development of accurate phytoplankton fluorescence classification monitoring technology.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To detect the levels of D-dimer (D-D) and fibrinogen (Fbg) in plasma of patients with malignant tumors, and to evaluate the diagnostic value of combined detection of D-D and Fbg.@*Methods@#The clinical data of 99 patients with malignant tumors were retrospectively analyzed, including 47 patients in DVT group and 52 patients in control group. DVT diagnosis was based on color Doppler or venography. The ROC curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic value of D-D, Fbg and the combination of D-D and Fbg for the malignant tumor patients with DVT.@*Results@#The D-D levels in the DVT group and the control group were 7.17 μg/ml and 4.25 μg/ml, respectively, and the Fbg levels were 4.01 mg/ml and 2.02 mg/ml, respectively, and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.01). For the area under the ROC curve (AUC), specificity and sensitivity for diagnosing malignant tumors with DVT, D-D were 0.728, 62.50%, and 72.50%, respectively, and Fbg was 0.642, 65.50%, and 58.80%, respectively, and D-D+Fbg was 0.764, 83.30% and 59.00% respectively.@*Conclusions@#D-D and Fbg has a significantly high level in malignant tumor patients with DVT. The combined detection of D-D and Fbg has potential application value in the early diagnosis, early intervention and better prognosis for the malignant tumors patients with DVT.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the relationship between peripheral blood absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) and patients with multiple myeloma (MM). Methods:We obtained clinical features and follow-up data of 102 patients with MM to analyze the prog-nostic value of peripheral blood ALC. Results:Patients with ALC>1.51×109/L were designated as group 1, whereas patients with ALC0.05). Conclusion:Lower ALC is a poor prognosis factor. ALC may be an important prognostic factor of MM.

ABSTRACT

It is the infent of this study to establish a simple method for cultivation of rat pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells(PMVECs) and investigate the viscoelasticity of PMVECs. First, we obtained rat's peripheral pulmonary tissue, which then was cut into small pieces and cultured with 3 ml DMEM containing 20% bovine calf serum, 90 U/ml heparin, 4 mmol L-glutamine, 100 U/ml penicillin and 100 micrograms/ml streptomycin. Next, moved away the pulmonary tissue pieces 60 h later, and started passage 2-4 days after continued culture. Last, digested and separated PMVECs and studied viscoelastic coefficients of PMVECs by using micropipette aspiration technique. The results revealed that the cultured PMVECs showed regular cobblestone morphology and conformed with endothelial cells morphological characterization by phase contrast microscopy. PMVECs elastic modulus K1 was 49.3 +/- 9.2 Pa, K2 was 73.2 +/- 24.8 Pa, and it's viscosity factor mu was 19.2 +/- 7.2 Pa. s. These data demonstrate that it is feasible to cultivate PMVECs with tissue pieces method, and PMVECs is of greater rigidity.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the effect of corticotrophin-releasing hormone(CRH) on estrogen production in human trophoblasts and its mechanisms. Methods: Cytotrophoblasts were isolated from term human placentas and cultured for 72 h. The cultured cells were then treated with various concentrations of CRH and CRH receptor antagonist,?-Helical CRH9-41 for 24 h; estradiol was measured by radioimmunoassay in the culture media. Expression of aromatase(P450arom),the key enzyme for estrogen synthesis, was analyzed by Northern blot. Results: CRH significantly stimulated estradiol production and the expression of P450arom mRNA in placental cells. It was found that ?-Helical CRH9-41 blocked the effect of CRH and inhibited estradiol production and P450arom mRNA expression(P
