ABSTRACT

Randomized studies of combined treatment of 138 patients with toxic phase of general peritonitis were accomplished. We demonstrated a significant decrease in electric activity of the intestine and alteration of free-radical processes in patients with generalized purulent peritonitis. Administration of reamberin which contains succinic acid promoted restoration of the intestine's peristalsis to the 3rd day of postoperative period and effective correction of imbalance in free-radical processes system. Usage of reamberin in combined treatment of general peritonitis let lethality to be diminished from 16.49 to 9.76%.

ABSTRACT

Results of complex treatment of 238 patients undergone operations due to cholelithiasis with acute cholecystitis are analyzed; 198 of them were aged 60 years. At perioperative period patients were treated traditionally, 76 patients were additionally treated with alkaline inhalations, bronchodilatators, cardiac drugs, Bemithyl antihypoxant, broad spectrum antibiotics, oxygen therapy through nasopharyngeal catheter and oxygen cocktail, physical exercise therapy and prolonged lung ventilation (in postoperative period). Pulmonary complications were registered in 2.5 times more at traditional treatment in senior patients compared with ones less than 60 years. Original complex treatment permitted to reduce the rate of postoperative complications in 2.96 times.

ABSTRACT

A prosthesis of the authors' design with various connective elements of knitted Lavsan fabric was tested in experiments on 43 mongrel dogs. Clinical, radiological, radiospirographic, and morphological studies showed that the optimal prosthesis is that in which the connective elements are made of knitted Lavsan fabrics with an average stitch size of 20-23. Granulation tissue grows through the prosthesis which is fastened well to the connective-tissue cuff forming around it. The trachea replaced by the prosthesis ensures adequate gas exchange and lung functioning, causes no essential disorders of pulmonary volumes, ventilation and perfusion of the right and left lungs.

ABSTRACT

Injection of Salmonella typhimurium endotoxin to the laboratory animals (rabbits) in dose of 1 mg/ml (LD84) induces the particular changes in the thrombocyte vessels system of hemostasis: decrease of aggregatory ability of thrombocytes, increase of thromboxane A2 and prostacyclin activation of lipid peroxidation process. Use of indomethacin--the cyclooxygenase inhibitor--leads to less progressive alterations of the studied parameters of the thrombocyte vessels hemostasis and lipid peroxidation processes.

ABSTRACT

Blood plasma free radical lipid oxidation was studied in 98 patients with acute dysentery (AD) and 64 patients with food toxinfection (FTI). Free radical lipid oxidation was assessed by the intensity of chemiluminescence and the level of lipid peroxides. Activation of blood plasma lipid peroxidation was established with relation to a clinical variant of the disease. The effect of indomethacin on the parameters of free radical lipid oxidation was noted in patients with AD and FTI.

ABSTRACT

A method of intubation of the terminal portion of the inferior lobular bronchus through the lung tissue in resection of the thoracic portion of the trachea is described. The method of "shunt-respiration" was used in experiment.

ABSTRACT

Experimentally on 20 dogs, using the method of xenon-133 radiography, angiopneumo- and bronchography the lung function was studied after tracheobronchial resections, performed in young ages. The pulmonary function was not found to be appreciably changed, the observed alterations are of a compensatory character.
