ABSTRACT

A rare clinical observation of desmoid fibroma associated with a breast implant is presented. When making a morphological (cytological, histological) diagnosis at the light-optical level before surgery, a differential morphological diagnosis was performed between cicatricial changes, the stromal component of the phyloid tumor and desmoid fibroma. Only immunohistochemistry allowed us to establish a diagnosis of desmoid fibroma, since tumor cells expressed diffusely SMA, focally desmin, and most importantly, ß-catenin expression was observed in some cells.

ABSTRACT

A case of benign proliferative formation of the mammary gland of a rare histological form - subareolar sclerosing ductal hyperplasia in combination with papillomatosis of the nipple is presented. Pathology belongs to the group of complex sclerosing lesions. When setting the morphological (cytological, histological) diagnosis, it is necessary to take into account the clinical picture - the state of the nipple-areola complex, in particular, the presence / absence of nipple discharge and its involvement in the pathological process.

ABSTRACT

We describe a case of lactating adenoma in pregnant woman, 32 week of gestation. Typical features of disease presented in this article was revealed by clinical and microscopic methods and it make possible to diagnose the process before operation. The diagnosis was confirmed by histological investigation of surgical material.

ABSTRACT

We analyzed the effect of hemolysis on microRNA profi le of blood plasma. It was found that hemolysis of ~0.05% erythrocytes in a sample signifi cantly affected the concentration of 9 microRNA: hsa-miR-486-5p, hsa-miR-16-5p, hsa-miR-451a, hsa-miR-106a-5p, hsa-miR-17-5p, hsa-miR-93-5p, hsa-miR-20a-5p, hsa-miR-107, and hsa-miR-20b-5p. The effect of hemolysis on plasma content of miR-17 family microRNA was demonstrated.

ABSTRACT

Analysis of the plasma microRNA profile can be used for the diagnosis of various pathological and physiological conditions. Complete microRNA microprofiling is an extremely important task. Here we used microarray analysis allowing measurement of the expression of 2500 microRNA (MirBase, version 20). About 10% known microRNA were found in the plasma. Most of the detected microRNA (69 microRNA; ~30%) were encoded by mirtrons.

ABSTRACT

Inflammatory breast cancer is characterized by high malignancy, early and rapid lymphogenic and hematogenic metastasizing, and high mortality. The diagnosis of this form of cancer is based fully on the clinical criteria. Whole transcriptome analysis of tumor tissue specimens from patients with inflammatory breast cancer detected 137 differentially expressed mRNA (17 genes with low expression and 120 with high expression). Genes involved in the organization of inflammatory process, chemotaxis, and transcription regulation were active in the process of pathogenesis of inflammatory breast cancer.
