ABSTRACT

A clinical-neurological, psychological, biochemical and electromyographic study of 40 operated and 40 non-operated patients with chronic low back pain syndrome was conducted before and after treatment. The authors used various modes of administration of xydifonum, a chelate from the group of bisphosphonates, including electrophoretic, peroral and administration in the form of ointment, administered in turn with heparin one to improve the antiplatelet effect, using photopheresis the with the help of the state-of-the art photomatrix LED equipment. The application of Ca2+-modulating properties of xydifonum demonstrate its universality in achieving of analgesic, muscle-relaxing, anxiolytic and antidepressant effects thus allowing to exclude polypragmasy. This is a main difference between this drug and other medications with limited effects. Based on the results obtained, the authors propose a scheme of development of chronic low back pain.

ABSTRACT

It is well grounded for the application of a preparation from group bisphosphonates xydiphone is justified (reasonable). For treatment and preventive maintenance of a tooth stone for want of periodontal inflammation. Is shown on 30 patients with acute parodontitis and at 10--with gingivitis (in a stage of a peaking), that the application of xydiphone will neutralize an alkaline response having a place up to treatment, due to what it(he) exhibits antiseptic of a property. Xydiphone, linking ionized Ca and free Fe, simultaneously hinders with activation of free--radical oxidation, reduces blood-flux and blocks process of crystallization.

ABSTRACT

Complex observation and treatment of 112 patients with compressive-reflex syndromes of cervical osteochondrosis with pain as the leading clinical manifestation resulted in elaboration of the scheme of its pathogenesis. The main links of pathological process development as well as their relationships were described. The main means and methods of the correction of algesic syndrome development were determined on the basis of both own investigations and literary data. The peculiarity of this study was the inclusion of Xydiphone (the Russian-made drug from complexons group) in pathogenetic therapy. Its positive medical effect in treatment of the disease described was established.

ABSTRACT

To remove painful attacks in patients with the vertebral artery syndrome, use was made of xidiphon. The two methods of its administration were developed: application and electrophoretic. 27 patients in the stage of the disease exacerbation were examined and then treated. Vertebrobasilar vessels were examined over time by REG. A study was made of the content of macroelements and trace elements in the area of the impaired vessel, of the status of the bulbar conjunctival vessels using a "ShchL-2" lamp, and of the changes in the psychovolitional sphere and lipid peroxidation. A positive analgesic effect was attained in 25 patients, making it possible to eliminate or diminish to a considerable measure the doses of analgesics.

ABSTRACT

A retrospective analysis was made of complaints and focal neurological symptoms in patients with nonspecific aortoarteritis of brachiocephalic vessels. It is demonstrated that the latter ones appear at the early stages of the development of stenosis of the main vessels. This allows early elaboration of indications for angiologic examination of patients. It has been noted that surgical correction of the blood flow in aortic arch branches in the early phases of the disease materially improves prognosis.

ABSTRACT

Fifty-two patients with trigeminal neuralgia were treated by electrophoresis with a 2% solution of ksidifon. 23 patients demonstrated a remarkable analgetic effect in the form of disappearance of painful paroxysms and activity of the trigger zones, which enabled a considerable reduction of the daily dose of carbamazepine (finlepsin). In 14 patients, the rate and severity of algic attacks noticeably decreased without the lowering of the finlepsin dosage. Therefore, the suggested method of the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, being simple in use, effectively removes the painful syndrome, contributing to a noticeable reduction of the doses of the toxic drugs of the carbamazepine type.

ABSTRACT

As many as 45 patients with multiple sclerosis were examined for rheological blood properties. As compared to controls, the group under examination manifested the rise of plasma viscosity, acceleration of red blood cell aggregation. 26.2% of patients demonstrated an appreciable increase of blood viscosity. It is assumed that these changes contribute to the deterioration of microcirculation and aggravate the demyelinating process. Correction of the rheological properties of the blood by plasmapheresis coupled with other methods of pathogenetic therapy turned out effective.

ABSTRACT

The use of transcranial Doppler sonography (TDS) in combined ultrasound diagnosis was the first to allow a noninvasive assessment of cerebral circulation. Altogether 50 patients in acute stroke period were examined. The results obtained were verified at surgery, cerebral angiography or autopsy. Changes in the velocity of the blood flow, its reversal, different Doppler sonogram pattern appeared controversial for cerebral and subarachnoid haemorrhages caused by the occlusion of the internal carotid artery or other factors of encephalomalacia. TDS employment promotes the improvement in the diagnosis of the cause underlying the acute impairment of cerebral circulation and in the prognosis of cerebral coma. The findings are correlated with routine echo-pulsography and Doppler sonography.

ABSTRACT

The authors describe the technical parameters and methodology of transcranial Doppler sonography as applied to studying the blood flow in vessels of the brain base. The results of the examination carried out in 25 healthy subjects have shown a high informative value of transcranial Doppler sonography in studying the circulation in the arterial and venous collectors. The new method is compared with the routine Doppler sonography and echopulsography.

ABSTRACT

The changes in the hemostatic system were studied in 77 patients with different patterns of disseminated sclerosis (DS). The studies demonstrated activation of both vasculothrombocytic and coagulation components of hemostasis as well as of fibrinolytic blood properties. The latent course of the disseminated intravascular coagulation was revealed in 20.7% of cases. The role of hemostatic disorders in the pathogenetic mechanisms of DS is discussed. The patients with DS received pathogenetic treatment including drugs eliminating hemostatic disorders, which was beneficial for most patients.

ABSTRACT

An examination of patients with trigeminal neuralgia and facial pains of the cervical genesis (in cervical osteochondrosis, bone anomalies of the same localization, the syndrome of musculus scalenus anterior) revealed hemostatic impairments. These changes were generalized in trigeminal neuralgia and regional in the second group of patients, being particularly overt during a pain attack. The data obtained must be taken into account in evaluating the pathogenesis and in administering multiple modality therapy.

ABSTRACT

The authors first applied a complex of modern noninvasive methods of studying cerebral vascular pathologies, both direct (phonoangiography, echopulso- or echosphygmography, bidimensional scanning) and indirect (telethermography, ultrasound flowmetry, photoplethysmography and ophthalmodynamometry, inhalation radiocirculography) in examining patients with various stages of atherosclerotic carotid impairment and various forms of cerebral vascular pathology (ischemic stroke, transient disorders of the cerebral circulation, initial manifestations of cerebral circulation deficiency) verified by cerebral angiography, surgery or necropsy findings. High informative value of the above methods used combined in cases of circulatory pathology in the carotid bed was shown and the differential evaluation of the importance of every individual method in concrete types of cerebrovascular pathology was carried out. The use of ultrasound and thermovisual methods is considered to be most promising in the diagnosis of vascular cerebral impairments.

ABSTRACT

The paper deals with the potentialities of visualizing the carotid and temporal arteries as well as jugular veins with the help of the non-invasive method for compound real-time ultrasound scanning. In 18, out of twenty healthy volunteers examined, the echotomograms exhibited reasonably clear-cut images of the above-listed vessels. Their localization, size, and pulsation patterns are described, which enables one to differentiate the arterial and venous trunks. Visualization of the vertebral artery was also performed. The technique of ultrasound transducer orientation by means of Doppler sonography is presented.
