ABSTRACT

In this paper, we study in detail the nonlinear propagation of a magnetic soliton in a ferromagnetic film. The sample is magnetized to saturation by an external field perpendicular to film plane. A generalized (2+1)-dimensional short-wave asymptotic model is derived. The bilinearlike forms of this equation are constructed and exact magnetic line soliton solutions are exhibited. It is observed that a series of stable lumps can be generated by an unstable magnetic soliton under Gaussian disturbance. Such magnetic lumps are highly stable and can maintain their shapes and velocities during evolution or collision. The interaction between lump and magnetic solitons, as well as the interaction between two lumps, are numerically investigated. We further discuss the nonlinear motion of lumps in ferrites with Gilbert damping and inhomogeneous exchange effects. The results show that the Gilbert-damping effects make the amplitude and velocity of the magnetic lump decay exponentially during propagation. And the shock waves are generated from a lump when quenching the strength of inhomogeneous exchange.

ABSTRACT

Ag/BiPbO2Cl nanosheet composites were successfully prepared by hydrothermal synthesis and photo-reduction. The morphology, microstructure, and optical properties of the as-prepared Ag/BiPbO2Cl nanosheet composites were characterized using TEM, XRD, and UV-Vis diffuse reflection spectroscopy. The prepared Ag/BiPbO2Cl nanosheet composites with 0.5 wt% Ag exhibit favorable photocatalytic activity, which is 3.6 times that of BiPbO2Cl nanosheet. The enhanced photocatalytic properties can be attributed to the inner electromagnetic field, higher visible light response range, excellent conductivity, and lower Fermi level of Ag.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To study the effect of methylene blue on the growth and acid production of Streptococcus mutans, and the effect of methylene blue on acid production metabolism in plaque glycolysis model (i-PGM) in vitro, and investigate the practicability of methylene blue as a new kind of dental caries prevention agent. METHODS: Nephelometer method was used to measure OD value of Streptococcus mutans culture fluid in the different incubation conditions. The kinds and quantities of acid produced by Streptococcus mutans in the different incubation conditions were measured with gas chromatography. pH values of glycolysis buffer media of i-PGM in the different treatment conditions were measured by ORION electrode. RESULTS: (1) The OD value of Streptococcus mutans treated by methylene blue was lower than that by normal saline, and there was significant statistical difference between them. (2) The kinds of acid in three different culture fluid were same, but the total quantities of acid were significantly different among three different culture fluid, in which the total quantities of acid of culture fluids treated by glucose was the greatest, and treated by methylene blue was the lest. (3) The pH value of i-PGM treated by methylene blue was significantly different compared with negative control group, but was not significantly different compared with positive control group. CONCLUSION: Methylene blue can inhibit the growth and acid production metabolism of Streptococcus matans and acid production metabolism of i-PGM.
