ABSTRACT

The social and occupational patterns of all new cases of tuberculosis were analyzed in 26 subjects of the Russia Federation, which had submitted their 2003-2007 databases in within the framework of the State Monitoring System. The social and occupational patterns of the patients were found to have changed insignificantly in the past 5 years. Both socioeconomic and geographical factors have a considerable impact on tuberculosis morbidity rates. The data demonstrate the influence of socioeconomic factors and, above all, the quality of life on the notified incidence of tuberculosis by the federal districts. At the same time, the analysis of morbidity rate formation in the institutions of the Federal Service of Execution of Punishments proved it important to apply a comprehensive approach to planning tuberculosis-controlling measures.
