ABSTRACT
Ambient air pollution with flour dust (FD) and microorganisms, including microscopic fungi, was studied; the single concentrations of FD under emission plumes were 0.12-0.17 mg/m3; the total content of mould, field, and storage fungi was 700 +/- 30, 671 +/- 19, and 29 +/- 3, respectively. The maximum allowable concentrations for FD were ascertained; the equal ones were the maximum single concentration of 1.0; the daily average concentration was 0.4 mg/m3; hazard class IV; the limiting hazard index was their resorptive activity.

The reflex and resorptive effects of crotonaldehyde was studied. The maximum acceptable concentration (MAC) of crotonaldehyde was established to be 0.025 mg/m3, the mean daily MAC recommended to be 0.003 mg/m3, Hazard Class 2. It was shown that nasopharyngeal mucosal morphological changes in laboratory animals might serve as significant criteria for the action of the agent having an irritant effect.

The threshold irritable concentration of 2-allyl oxyethanol (2-AOE) in ambient air was determined at the level of 0.68 mg/m3. The threshold of chronic effect of 2-AOE is 0.075 mg/m3. The mean daily permissible concentration of 2-AOE is suggested at the level of 0.01 mg/m3.

Gas-chromatographic method of trichloroacetaldehyde (TCAA) determination in ambient air was developed. Its possibilities for TCAA analysis are within 0.015-0.5 mg/m3. The threshold of its irritating olfactory action was determined. The maximal single-exposure permissible concentration of TCAA is 0.03 mg/m3.

LD50 of benzyl-acetate (BA) was determined on the level 2500 mg/kg. Sensitivity of developed method for BA analysis--0.008-0.01 mg/m3. Single MAC of BA in environmental air is 0.01 mg/m3 (4th class of danger).
