ABSTRACT

Adrenal glands were studied histochemically in 110 autopsy cases with stomach precancer and cancer. Glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids and catecholamines can be considered, with a high degree of probability, as factors of antitumor protection while sex hormones as stimulators of stomach carcinoma development and progression. Scirrhous carcinomas were non-homogeneous in regard to the adrenal gland changes.
