ABSTRACT
In order to isolate the main sonographic criteria of ovarian cancer operability the dynamical U.S. examination was performed on 65 women with epithelial tumors of II-III stages before and during 5 years after treatment beginning, which included (in different combinations) cytoreductive surgery and neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Only total 14 (21.5%) relapses were revealed. The U.S. prognostic criteria of the ovarian cancer treatment efficacy with and without neoadjuvant chemotherapy were defined.

The ultrasonic examination results of mammary gland and regional lymph outflow zones were studied in 16,542 patients, including 415 with punction biopsy performance. The mammary gland cancer diagnosis was verified at the cytological examination of bioptic materials in 108 patients.

The authors studied the results of sonography of the breast and zones of regional lymph drainage in 15,973 patients. In 154 of them puncture aspiration biopsy was conducted under ultrasonic control. Breast carcinoma was found in 23 patients, in 2 of them the tumor was not palpable. The examination was performed on the Aloka-SSD-630 apparatus. The sonographic picture was that of a structure with diminished echogenic properties, irregular notched contours, and non-uniform echo signals from the internal structures. Echography with puncture biopsy made it also possible to reveal the presence of nonpalpable axillary metastatic lymph nodes and to establish the precise differential diagnosis of benign and malignant intraductal tumors. The method of puncture aspiration biopsy under control of ultrasonic examination is highly effective in the differential diagnosis of breast carcinoma.

The results of 143 ultrasound investigations (UI) of the mammary glands (MG) in 86 patients with lactic mastitis (LM) are presented. The techniques for performance of common UI of MG, and as well in combination with pharmacologic pituitrin assay are described. The echographic signs of the different forms of LM are systemized, their dynamics traced in the process of treatment, peculiarities of UI of MG in common and complicated course of the postoperative period are reflected.
