ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Ovarian cancer (OC) has the highest fatality rate among all gynecological malignancies, necessitating the exploration of novel, efficient, and low-toxicity therapeutic strategies. Ferroptosis is a type of programmed cell death induced by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation and can potentially activate antitumor immunity. Developing highly effective ferroptosis inducers may improve OC prognosis. RESULTS: In this study, we developed an ultrasonically controllable two-dimensional (2D) piezoelectric nanoagonist (Bi2MoO6-MXene) to induce ferroptosis. A Schottky heterojunction between Bi2MoO6 (BMO) and MXene reduced the bandgap width by 0.44 eV, increased the carrier-separation efficiency, and decreased the recombination rate of electron-hole pairs under ultrasound stimulation. Therefore, the reactive oxygen species yield was enhanced. Under spatiotemporal ultrasound excitation, BMO-MXene effectively inhibited OC proliferation by more than 90%, induced lipid peroxidation, decreased mitochondrial-membrane potential, and inactivated the glutathione peroxidase and cystathionine transporter protein system, thereby causing ferroptosis in tumor cells. Ferroptosis in OC cells further activated immunogenic cell death, facilitating dendritic cell maturation and stimulating antitumor immunity. CONCLUSION: We have succeeded in developing a highly potent ferroptosis inducer (BMO-MXene), capable of inhibiting OC progression through the sonodynamic-ferroptosis-immunogenic cell death pathway.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: About 186 million people in the world suffer from infertility, and there is one infertile couple in every 4-6 couples. It is thus essential to find effective psychological treatment. OBJECTIVE: To conduct a systematic review of previous meta-analyses on mindfulness-based therapy outcomes in infertile female patients and a meta-analysis of studies nested within these meta-analyses. METHODS: Randomized controlled trials (RCTS) on the efficacy of mindset-based interventions in infertile female patients were retrieved from PubMed, The Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, CNI, VIP Database, and Wanfang Database until March 1, 2023. Two researchers screened the literature, extracted data according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, and conducted quality control according to Cochrane Handbook 5.1.0. When there was ambiguity, a third party determined it. The meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 software. RESULT: 14 randomized controlled trials involving 1784 patients were included. Meta-analysis showed that compared with conventional care, mindfulness-based intervention can effectively relieve anxiety in female infertility patients [SMD =-2.25, 95% CI (-2.90, -1.60), P< 0.00001], depression [SMD =-2.25, 95% CI (-2.99, -1.52), P< 0.00001], perceived stress [SMD =-0.99, 95% CI (-1.27, -0.71), P< 0.00001], improved quality of life, physiological function [MD = 14.03, 95% CI (11.98, 16.07), P< 0.00001], Role limitations due to physical problems [MD = 11.30, 95% CI (5.71, 16.90), P< 0.0001], vitality [MD = 11.55, 95% CI (9.46, 13.65), P< 0.00001], mental health [MD = 17.32, 95% CI (15.29, 19.35), P< 0.00001]. CONCLUSION: Existing evidence shows that mindfulness therapy can effectively relieve the anxiety and depression of infertile women, reduce the level of stress, and improve the quality of life and sleep quality. However, due to the limited quantity and quality of the literature, multi-center, large-sample, and high-quality randomized controlled studies should be conducted in the future.

ABSTRACT

Background: Schizophrenia is a polygenic disorder associated with changes in brain structure and function. Integrating macroscale brain features with microscale genetic data may provide a more complete overview of the disease etiology and may serve as potential diagnostic markers for schizophrenia. Objective: We aim to systematically evaluate the impact of multi-scale neuroimaging and transcriptomic data fusion in schizophrenia classification models. Methods: We collected brain imaging data and blood RNA sequencing data from 43 patients with schizophrenia and 60 age- and gender-matched healthy controls, and we extracted multi-omics features of macroscale brain morphology, brain structural and functional connectivity, and gene transcription of schizophrenia risk genes. Multi-scale data fusion was performed using a machine learning integration framework, together with several conventional machine learning methods and neural networks for patient classification. Results: We found that multi-omics data fusion in conventional machine learning models achieved the highest accuracy (AUC ~0.76-0.92) in contrast to the single-modality models, with AUC improvements of 8.88 to 22.64%. Similar findings were observed for the neural network, showing an increase of 16.57% for the multimodal classification model (accuracy 71.43%) compared to the single-modal average. In addition, we identified several brain regions in the left posterior cingulate and right frontal pole that made a major contribution to disease classification. Conclusion: We provide empirical evidence for the increased accuracy achieved by imaging genetic data integration in schizophrenia classification. Multi-scale data fusion holds promise for enhancing diagnostic precision, facilitating early detection and personalizing treatment regimens in schizophrenia.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the experiences of Chinese midwives during traumatic birth experiences and their impact. By doing so, we hope to develop effective empathetic educational strategies and provide valuable insights to improve the midwifery support system in China. METHODS: This study adopted Colaizzi's phenomenological approach, which aimed to understand and explore human experiences from the standpoint of the participants. A purposive sampling method was used to select 16 midwives for semi-structured interviews. The Colaizzi 7-step method was used to analyze the interview data. FINDINGS: Three themes and eight sub-themes were developed by analyzing and integrating the interview data. These included intertwined negative experiences (self-blame and guilt, regurgitated disturbances, intense and persistent physical and psychological discomfort, and low confidence in midwifery decision-making behaviours), the coexistence of positive effects (increased ability to tolerate life uncertainty, increased sense of control in coping with traumatic birth experiences), and needs and expectations (confiding in co-workers, an expectation of professional psychological support interventions). CONCLUSIONS: The experiences of midwives in showing empathy during traumatic birth experiences are complex and multifaceted. It is crucial to recognize and address negative empathic experiences, provide coping strategies, and enhance positive empathic experiences. Midwives' grief counselling competence education should be strengthened, as should their psychological well-being and the midwifery support system.

ABSTRACT

Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder with a neurodevelopmental origin. Although schizophrenia results from changes in the brain, the underlying biological mechanisms are unknown. Transcriptomics studies quantitative expression changes or qualitative changes of all genes and isoforms, providing a more meaningful biological insight. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques play roles in revealing brain structure and function. We give a narrative focused review on the current transcriptome combined with MRI studies related to schizophrenia and summarize the research methodology and content of these studies to identify the research commonalities as well as the implications for future research, in an attempt to provide new insights into the mechanism, clinical diagnosis, and treatments of schizophrenia.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) represent a class of covalently closed, single-stranded RNAs and have been linked to cancer progression. N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation is a ubiquitous RNA modification in cancer cells. Increasing evidence suggests that m6A can mediate the effects of circRNAs in cancer biology. In contrast, the post-transcriptional systems of m6A and circRNA in the progression of endometrial cancer (EC) remain obscure. The current study identified a novel circRNA with m6A modification, hsa_circ_0084582 (circCHD7), which was upregulated in EC tissues. Functionally, circCHD7 was found to promote the proliferation of EC cells. Mechanistically, circCHD7 interacted with insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein (IGF2BP2) to amplify its enrichment. Moreover, circCHD7 increased the mRNA stability of platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta (PDGFRB) in an m6A-dependent manner, thereby enhancing its expression. In addition, the circCHD7/IGF2BP2/PDGFRB axis activated the JAK/STAT signaling pathway and promoted EC cell proliferation. In conclusion, these findings provide new insights into the regulation of circRNA-mediated m6A modification, and the new "circCHD7-PDGFRB" model of regulation offers new perspectives on circCHD7 as a potential target for EC therapy.

ABSTRACT

Smilax glabra Roxb. (SGR) is known for its high nutritional and therapeutic value. However, the frequent appearance of counterfeit products causes confusion and inconsistent quality among SGR varieties. Herein, this study collected the proportion of SGR adulteration and used high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to measure the astilbin content of SGR. Then Fourier-transform near-infrared (FT-NIR) technology, combined with multivariate intelligent algorithms, was used to establish partial least squares regression quantitative models for detecting SGR adulteration and measuring astilbin content, respectively. The method conducted a quantitative analysis of dual indicators through single-spectrum data acquisition (QADS) to comprehensively evaluate the authenticity and superiority of SGR. The coefficients of determination (R2) for both the calibration and prediction sets exceeded 0.96, which successfully leverages FT-NIR combined with multivariate intelligent algorithms to considerably enhance the accuracy and reliability of quantitative models. Overall, this research holds substantial value in the comprehensive quality evaluation in functional health foods.

ABSTRACT

Cognitive impairments in schizophrenia are pivotal clinical issues that need to be solved urgently. However, the mechanism remains unknown. It has been suggested that cognitive impairments in schizophrenia are associated with connectome damage, and are especially relevant to the disrupted hub nodes in the frontal and parietal lobes. Activating the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) via repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) could result in improved cognition. Based on several previous magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies on schizophrenia, we found that the first-episode patients showed connectome damage, as well as abnormal activation and connectivity of the DLPFC and inferior parietal lobule (IPL). Accordingly, we proposed that DLPFC-IPL pathway destruction might mediate connectome damage of cognitive impairments in schizophrenia. In the meantime, with the help of multimodal MRI and noninvasive neuromodulation tool, we may not only validate the hypothesis, but also find IPL as the potential intervention target for cognitive impairments in schizophrenia.

This study explored the preparation process of the placebo of Jiawei Ermiao Granules and evaluated the placebo effect, aiming to provide qualified placebo samples for clinical trials of Jiawei Ermiao Granules and a reference for the preparation and quality evaluation of placebos of traditional Chinese medicine granules. On the basis of the comprehensive analysis results of Jiawei Ermiao Granules, the orthogonal experiment was conducted to optimize the flavoring agents and colorants. After manual evaluation, the placebo formula was determined as dextrin 10 g, Codonopsis Radix extract 5.0 g, bitter melon extract 1.6 g, Mume Fructus extract 0.3 g, stevioside 0.1 g, sucrose octaacetate 0.004 g, indigo 0.004 g, lemon yellow 0.003 1 g, sunset yellow 0.001 8 g, bitter tea powder 0.001 8 g, caramel 0.001 3 g. Pilot trials were conducted on the placebo formula. The simulation effect of placebo was evaluated independently and comparatively, and the objectively evaluated by electronic nose and electronic tongue. The results showed that the independent manual evaluation of the placebo formula had higher error rate, and the placebo and Jiawei Ermiao Granules showed the similarity of 99.61% in the comparative manual evaluation. The smell similarity between the placebo and Jiawei Ermiao Granules was 99.19%, and the electronic tongue test showed little difference in the taste. In conclusion, the placebo prepared in this study shows a high similarity to Jiawei Ermiao Granules, which is not easy to break the blindness when being applied to clinical trials. This study provides a reference for the preparation and quality evaluation and promotes the large-scale production of placebos of traditional Chinese medicine granules, playing a role in improving the persuasiveness and acceptance of the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicines.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of nursing managers in implementing palliative care in long-term care facilities and to provide recommendations for managers who plan to introduce palliative care into their facilities. Methods: This study used semi-structured interviews and grounded theory methodology, with purposive sampling. A total of 11 long-term care facilities in eastern Taiwan that had implemented palliative care were selected, and 11 facility nursing managers participated in in-depth, face-to-face interviews. Results: The introduction of palliative care in long-term care facilities can be divided into four stages: (1) the opportunity for change, (2) playing a supportive role, (3) a new collaboration model, and (4) facility transformation. The core category shared by the participants may be summed up as "the palliative care captain in the facility". It reflects the spirit of the successful implementation of palliative care by managers in long-term care facilities. Conclusion: The study reveals that during the initial phases of implementing palliative care, the palliative care teams assume a crucial leadership role, while the facilities play a supportive role. At this stage, managers should focus on personnel training and addressing internal issues within the facilities to facilitate successful collaboration with the palliative care teams. In the later stages, the facilities transition from a supportive role to one of independence, marking a critical juncture for the facilities' potential stable development. During this period, managers are tasked not only with establishing the facilities' own palliative care team but also with facilitating the transformation of staff from learners to instructors. Finally, even after successful implementation, managers must contemplate how to innovate and set more ambitious goals.

BACKGROUND: Inflammation has been implicated in the pathology of schizophrenia and may cause neuronal cell death and dendrite loss. Neuroimaging studies have highlighted longitudinal brain structural changes in patients with schizophrenia, yet it is unclear whether this is related to inflammation. We aim to address this question, by relating brain structural changes with the transcriptional profile of inflammation markers in the early stage of schizophrenia. METHODS: Thirty-eight patients with first-episode schizophrenia and 51 healthy controls were included. High-resolution T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and clinical assessments were performed at baseline and 2 ~ 6 months follow-up for all subjects. Changes in the brain structure were analyzed using surface-based morphological analysis and correlated with the expression of immune cells-related gene sets of interest reported by previous reviews. Transcriptional data were retrieved from the Allen Human Brain Atlas. Furthermore, we examined the brain structural changes and peripheral inflammation markers in association with behavioral symptoms and cognitive functioning in patients. RESULTS: Patients exhibited accelerated cortical thickness decrease in the left frontal cortices, less decrease or an increase in the superior parietal lobule and right lateral occipital lobe, and increased volume in the bilateral pallidum, compared with controls. Changes in cortical thickness correlated with the transcriptional level of monocyte across cortical regions in patients (r = 0.54, p < 0.01), but not in controls (r = - 0.05, p = 0.76). In addition, cortical thickness change in the left superior parietal lobule positively correlated with changes in digital span-backward test scores in patients. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with schizophrenia exhibit regional-specific cortical thickness changes in the prefrontal and parietooccipital cortices, which is related to their cognitive impairment. Inflammation may be an important factor contributing to cortical thinning in first-episode schizophrenia. Our findings suggest that the immunity-brain-behavior association may play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia.

BACKGROUND: Cognitive impairment is the main factor in the poor prognosis of schizophrenia, but its mechanism remains unclear. The inferior parietal lobule (IPL) is related to various clinical symptoms and cognitive impairment in schizophrenia. We aimed to explore the relationship between IPL-related functions and cognitive impairment in schizophrenia. METHODS: 136 schizophrenia patients and 146 demographically matched healthy controls were enrolled for a cross-sectional study. High-spatial-resolution structural and resting-state functional images were acquired to demonstrate the alternations of brain structure and function. At the same time, the digit span and digit symbol coding tasks of the Chinese Wechsler Adult Intelligence Test Revised (WAIS-RC) were utilized in assessing the subjects' cognitive function. Patients were divided into cognitive impairment and normal cognitive groups according to their cognitive score and then compared whether there were differences between the three groups in fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (fALFF). In addition, we did a correlation analysis between cognitive function and the fALFF for the left IPL of patients and healthy controls. Based on the Allen Human Brain Atlas, we obtained genes expressed in the left IPL, which were then intersected with the transcriptome-wide association study results and differentially expressed genes in schizophrenia. RESULTS: Grouping of patients by the backward digit span task and the digit symbol coding task showed differences in fALFF values between healthy controls and cognitive impairment patients (P < 0.05). We found a negative correlation between the backward digit span task score and fALFF of the left IPL in healthy controls (r = - 0.388, P = 0.003), which was not seen in patients (r = 0.203, P = 0.020). In addition, none of the other analyses were statistically significant (P > 0.017). In addition, we found that diacylglycerol kinase ζ (DGKζ) is differentially expressed in the left IPL and associated with schizophrenia. CONCLUSION: Our study demonstrates that the left IPL plays a vital role in cognitive impairment in schizophrenia. DGKζ may act as an essential regulator in the left IPL of schizophrenia patients with cognitive impairment.

ABSTRACT

Major psychiatric disorders create a significant public health burden, and mental disorders such as major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia are major contributors to the national disease burden. The search for biomarkers has been a leading endeavor in the field of biological psychiatry in recent decades. And the application of cross-scale and multi-omics approaches combining genes and imaging in major psychiatric studies has facilitated the elucidation of gene-related pathogenesis and the exploration of potential biomarkers. In this article, we summarize the results of using combined transcriptomics and magnetic resonance imaging to understand structural and functional brain changes associated with major psychiatric disorders in the last decade, demonstrating the neurobiological mechanisms of genetically related structural and functional brain alterations in multiple directions, and providing new avenues for the development of quantifiable objective biomarkers, as well as clinical diagnostic and prognostic indicators.

Ferroptosis is a form of programmed cell death with important biological functions in the progression of various diseases, and targeting ferroptosis is a new tumor treatment strategy. Studies have shown that sodium butyrate plays a tumor-suppressing role in the progression of various tumors, however, the mechanism of NaBu in endometrial cancer is unclear. Cell viability, clone formation, proliferation, migration, invasion abilities and cell cycle distribution were assessed by CCK8 assay, Clone formation ability assay, EdU incorporation, Transwell chambers and flow cytometry. The level of ferroptosis was assayed by the levels of ROS and lipid peroxidation, the ratio of GSH/GSSG and the morphology of mitochondria. Molecular mechanisms were explored by metabolome, transcriptome, RNA-pulldown and mass spectrometry. The in-vivo mechanism was validated using subcutaneous xenograft model. In this study, NaBu was identified to inhibit the progression of endometrial cancer in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, RBM3 has a binding relationship with SLC7A11 mRNA. NaBu indirectly downregulates the expression of SLC7A11 by promoting the expression of RBM3, thereby promoting ferroptosis in endometrial cancer cells. In conclusion, Sodium butyrate can promote the expression of RBM3 and indirectly downregulate the expression of SLC7A11 to stimulate ferroptosis, which may be a promising cancer treatment strategy.

ABSTRACT

Background: Promoting reflection about death may support better living, and how to carry out death education is an important issue to be addressed across the world. The purpose of the current study was to explore the attitude of heart transplant recipients toward death and their inner real experience to provide information for the development of death education strategies. Methods: A phenomenological qualitative study was conducted using a snowball method. A total of 11 patients who had undergone heart transplantation more than 1-year ago were recruited for the current study for semi-structured interviews. Results: A total of five themes were identified: "Not avoid talking about death," "Feeling fear about the pain in the process of death", "Wanting a good death at the end of life," "The richness of feelings during near-death is surprising," and "Being close to death makes people more receptive to death." Conclusion: Heart transplant recipients have a positive attitude toward death and wish for "good death" at the end of life. These patients' near-death experiences and positive attitudes toward death during the course of their illness provided evidence of the need for death education in China and supported the experiential approach to death education.

As an essential biomarker associated with various diseases, Uracil-DNA Glycosylase (UDG) detection is vital for disease diagnosis, treatment selection, and prognosis assessment. In recent years, the signal amplification effect of the CRISPR-Cas12a trans-cleaved single-stranded DNA probe has provided an available strategy for constructing highly sensitive biosensors. However, its superior trans-cleavage activity has become a "double-edged sword" for building biosensors that can amplify the target signal while also amplifying the leakage signal, causing out of control. Therefore, the construction of structurally simple, extremely low-background, highly sensitive CRISPR-Cas12a-based biosensors is an urgent bottleneck problem in the field. Here, we applied CRISPR-Cas12a with a DNA hybridization reaction to develop a simple, rapid, low background, and highly sensitive method for UDG activity detection. It has no PAM restriction and the detection limit is as low as 2.5 × 10-6 U/mL. As far as we know, this method is one of the most sensitive methods for UDG detection. We also used this system to analyze UDG activity in tumor cells (LOD: 1 cell/uL) and to evaluate the ability to screen for UDG inhibitors. Furthermore, we verified the possibility of intracellular UDG activity imaging by transfecting the biosensors to the cells. We believe this novel sensor has good clinical application prospects and will effectively broaden the application space of CRISPR-Cas12a.

ABSTRACT

Point of care testing (POCT) has important clinical significance for the diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of diseases. At present, the biosensor based on CRISPR/Cas12a has become a powerful diagnostic tool due to its high sensitivity. However, CRISPR/Cas12a requires PAM sequence to recognize target double strand and only can recognize specific sequence, so it is not universal. The current RNA detection techniques either lack consideration for specificity and universality, are expensive and difficult, or both. Therefore, it is crucial to create a CRISPR/Cas12a-based RNA detection system that is easy to use, cheap, specific, and universal in order to further its use in molecular diagnostics. Here, we established a DNA circuit-mediated PAM-independent CRISPR/Cas12a coupled PolyA-rolling circle amplification for RNA detection biosensor, namely DCPRBiosensor. The DCPRBiosensor not only functions as a simple, inexpensive, and highly sensitive RNA detection sensor, but it also boasts innovative specificity and universality features. More importantly, DCPRBiosensor removes the PAM restriction of CRISPR/Cas12a. The DCPRBiosensor's detection limit reached 100 aM and it had a linear relationship between 100 aM and 10 pM. We detected four piRNAs to verify the universality and stability of DCPRBiosensor. Then, we verified that DCPRBiosensor has good discrimination ability for single-base mismatch. Finally, we successfully detected piRNA in DLD-1 and HCT-116 cells and urine mixed samples within 4.5 h. In conclusion, we believe that DCPRBiosensor will have a substantial impact on both the development of CRISPR/as12a's applications and the investigation of the clinical value of piRNA.

ABSTRACT

Protein ubiquitination is closely related to tumor occurrence and development. The specific role of ubiquitination in endometrial cancer remains largely unclear. Therefore, we constructed a novel endometrial cancer prognostic model based on ubiquitination-related genes. We extracted the expression matrices of ubiquitination-related genes from the Cancer Genome Atlas database, upon which we performed univariate Cox regression and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression analyses to obtain 22 ubiquitination-related genes for the construction of the prognostic model. Survival, regression, clinical correlation, and principal component analyses were performed to assess the performance of the model. Drug sensitivity analysis was performed based on these ubiquitination-related genes. Finally, a prognostic nomogram was constructed based on the prognostic model to quantify patient outcomes. Survival, regression, clinical correlation, and principal component analyses revealed that the performance of the prognostic model was satisfactory. Drug sensitivity analysis provided a potential direction for the treatment of endometrial cancer. The prognostic nomogram could be used to effectively estimate the survival rate of patients with endometrial cancer. In summary, we constructed a new endometrial cancer prognostic model and identified 5 differentially expressed, prognosis-associated, ubiquitination-related genes. These 5 genes are potential diagnostic and treatment targets for endometrial cancer.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Endometrial cancer (EC) is one of the most normal malignancies globally. Growing evidence suggests epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) related markers are closely correlated with poor prognosis of EC. However, the relationship between multiple EMT-associated long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and the prognosis of EC has not yet been studied. METHODS: The transcriptome data and clinical information of EC cases were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Then, we identified differentially expressed EMT-associated lncRNAs between tumor and normal tissue. Univariate cox regression analysis and multivariate stepwise Cox regression analysis were applied to identify EMT-associated lncRNAs related to overall survival (OS). Kaplan-Meier curve, receiver operating characteristic (ROC), nomograms and multi-index ROC curves were further established to evaluate the performance of the prognostic signature. In addition, we also investigated the distribution of immune cell characteristics, sensitivity to immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) and chemotherapeutics, and tumor mutation burden (TMB) between high- and low-risk scores predicated on a prognostic model. RESULTS: We established nine EMT-associated lncRNA signatures to predict the OS of EC, the area under the ROC curve (AUC) of the risk score has better values than other clinical characteristics, indicating the accuracy of the prognostic signature. As revealed by multivariate Cox regression, the prognosis model independently predicted EC prognosis. Moreover, the signature and the EMTassociated lncRNAs showed significant correlations with other clinical characteristics,including. Multi-index ROC curves for estimating 1-, 3- and 5-year overall survival (OS) of EC patients showed good predictive accuracy with AUCs of 0.731, 0.791, and 0.782, respectively. The highrisk group had specific tumor immune infiltration, insensitive to ICI, higher chemotherapeutics sensitivity and higher expression of TP53 mutation. Finally, the five lncRNAs of signature were further verified by qRT-PCR. CONCLUSION: We constructed an EMT-associated lncRNA signature that can predict the prognosis of EC effectively, and the prognostic signature also played an essential role in the TME; thus, the establishment of an EMT-associated lncRNA signature may provide new perspectives for the treatment of EC.

ABSTRACT

Catatonia is a psychomotor syndrome that can occur in a broad spectrum of brain disorders, including schizophrenia. Current findings suggest that the neurobiological process underlying catatonia symptoms in schizophrenia is poorly understood. However, emerging neuroimaging studies in catatonia patients have indicated that a disruption in anatomical connectivity of the cortico-striatal-cerebellar system is part of the neurobiology of catatonia, which could serve as a target of neurostimulation such as electroconvulsive therapy and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation.
