ABSTRACT

Lichen planus of the oral mucosa (LPOOR) is a chronic autoimmune disease. With a complicated course of the disease, other clinical and pathomorphological signs are added to the clinical picture of the reticular form, including blisters in the bullous form of the disease. It is known that LPOOR develops mainly by the mechanism of delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction, and in complicated forms - with the addition of a true allergic reaction of immediate-type hypersensitivity. OBJECTIVE: To determine the role of pseudo-allergic reaction in the development of the bullous form of LPR in patients with increased acid-forming function of the stomach. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The level of histamine in blood was studied by high-performance liquid chromatography and blood IgE by the immunochemiluminescent method in 38 patients with the bullous form of LPOOR against the background of acid-dependent diseases and 14 patients with the reticular form of LP RR with the absence of hyperchlorhydria. For the treatment of patients with the bullous form of LPOOR, drugs were used - H1 and H2 receptor blockers and proton pump inhibitors. RESULTS: A positive result was obtained in 68.4% of cases. CONCLUSION: Thus, a pseudoallergic component has been established in the development of the bullous form of the LP of ROS against the background of increased acid-forming function of the stomach.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of toothpaste Parodontax in patients undergoing orthodontic treatment. The results showed that fixed orthodontic appliances deteriorated oral hygiene, increased the viscosity of saliva and reduced mineralizing capacity of saliva (MCS). Use of Parodontax toothpaste based on sodium bicarbonate improved OHI-S, reduced the viscosity of saliva, increased MCS and normalized oral microbiota.

ABSTRACT

This study shows that there are significant differences in the content of minerals in the enamel of the teeth to erupt in the near future after the eruption. Based on the data it can be concluded that immediately after the eruption of the tooth enamel entering the aggressive environment oral loses a certain amount of minerals. This explains the high dental caries is in the first fern years after the eruption. All figures are of high relevance in the planning of prevention.

ABSTRACT

UNLABELLED: In this blind randomized study the results of the use of agents for dental caries prevention are presented. The study included 136 children of 7-12 years old, divided into four groups according to the used agent: 3M ESPE Clinpro XT Varnish (n=35), Multifluorid (n=37), Gluftored (n=23) and a control group (n=41) who was given the recommendations on individual oral hygiene with the use of fluoride toothpaste. The groups correlate to gender, age and the risk of dental caries development. Prevention efficacy was determined using the test of enamel resistance (painting of enamel area pretreated with acid). RESULTS: the use of long-acting fluorine varnish 3M ESPE Clinpro XT Varnish statistically significantly increases enamel resistance in comparison with other fluorine agents. The effect of the agent is due to the possibility of long-term exposure to the tooth enamel.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to determine the functional activity of cranio-mandibular system in patients with TMG osteoarthrosis. The study included 20 patients with TMG osteoarthrosis and 20 healthy subjects representing control group. The EMG examination was performed according to standard protocol developed in Milan University. The symmetry index values in the group with TMG osteoarthrosis were lower than in the control group (78.76±12.29%), while Torque values were higher (8.53±14.62%). EMG standardized indexes allowed differentiating TMG osteoarthrosis.

ABSTRACT

Treatment of patients requires cooperation of an orthodontist and prosthesis-maker as early as during treatment planning. An adequate clinical situation of treatment can be chosen only after preliminary modeling and prediction of results using dismountable diagnostic models of the jaws and computer simulation of the graphic scheme of the teeth position and transposition, described in this paper. Two-staged orthodontic and orthopedic treatment is needed for patients with early removed teeth and delayed prostheses, congenital cleft alveolar process and palate, and lack of two lateral incisors. However, for 25% of patient lacking two lateral incisors, orthodontic treatment alone is sufficient.
