ABSTRACT

In 93 decreased patients, 31 with first myocardial infarction and 62 with repeated myocardial infarction, the following indices were studied: risk factors, previous history, clinical onset, complications, ECG localization, time and cause of death, pathologicoanatomical changes. There was a tendency toward a greater frequency of cardiogenic shock in the patients who died during their first infarction. In the patients who died during a repeated infarction the following events were significantly more frequent: pulmonary thromboembolism (9.6%), dilatation (8.1%), recurrence (8.1%) (p less than 0.01); chronic cardiac failure (25.8%), episodes of clinical death (25.8%) (p less than 0.001); conduction-rhythm disturbances (75.8%) (p less than 0.05). Transmural infarction was found in 96.7% of the patients of the first infarction group vs 82.2% of the patients of the repeated infarction group (p less than 0.05). A statistically significant difference for the time of death was found only for the group patients who died after the 7th day of the infarction--0% for the first infarction group and 25.8% for the repeated infarction group (p less than 0.001). Cardiogenic shock was a significantly more frequent cause of death for the patients of the first infarction group (87.1%) than for the patients of the repeated infarction group.

ABSTRACT

A brief account of the major homeopathic principles making up a therapeutic system is presented. The opinions of different authors on the methodology of research into the area of homeopathy are also discussed. In addition, recommendations on the clinical trials of homeopathic methodologies are offered.

ABSTRACT

117 patients, 89 men and 28 women, with repeated myocardial infarction were followed up for a two year period. The following were taken into consideration: risk factors, number and localization of previous infarctions, interinfarction period, clinical onset of the new infarction, complications, electrocardiographic changes, time of death, causes of death, pathologicoanatomical localization of the new and old infarctions in comparison with the electrocardiographic localization. Statistically significant differences between the two sexes were found for the death of cardiogenic shock--48.9% for men and 13.3 for women (p less than 0.01) and for chronic cardiac failure as a complication of the second myocardial infarction--50.0% for women and 16.1% for men (p less than 0.001). For all other indices the differences were not statistically significant.

ABSTRACT

The results of treatment with homeopathic remedies in dilutions 10(-400), 10(-2000), 10(-20000) are represented. The informative energetic hologramic conception of homeopathy is proposed. The homeopathic drugs are considered as holograms and the human organic as a biohologram. The resonance is a mode of their interaction with a wide therapeutic effect as a result.

ABSTRACT

37 patients with prostatic adenomas were treated with homoeopathic for 6-9 months in an open study. Most showed subjective improvement in urinary and sexual function and improved objective measures of urinary function. Testosterone levels rose, but there was no reduction in size of the prostate on ultrasound. Possible modes of action are discussed

ABSTRACT

A study of urological patients confirmed the therapeutic effect of homeopathic agents in high dilutions. According to authors' concept the acting basis of this treatment is the information-force field appearing in the diluent and increasing in the course of subsequent dilutions of the agent. The application point are the higher regulatory centers of the body.

ABSTRACT

The results are reported from the administration of nifedipine to 39 patients with arterial hypertension. Thirty one of the patients suffered from hypertonic disease, and 8 had symptomatic hypertension. Light hypertension was established in 26 of the patients, moderate--10 and grave--3. In 22 of the patients (66.6%)--16 with light and 6 with moderate hypertension, the arterial pressure was normalized by the administration of nifedipine alone, 40 mg daily. In 16 patients the arterial hypertension was coped with the addition of beta-blockers, diuretic and clonidine. Only one patient failed to respond to the treatment. The effect advanced on 3rd--4th day on the average with the treatment with nifedipine alone and after 4-6 days after the inclusion of the double combination. Negligible and transitory adverse effects were observed in single patients. Nifedipine, administered alone or in combination with beta-blockers, diuretic and clonidine is an excellent agent in the treatment of light and moderate arterial hypertension.

ABSTRACT

Rat experiments have shown that radicotomy of spinal cord roots at the L2--Z1 level causes functional disorders of bone marrow eliminating stimulation of hemopoiesis in response to acute blood losses. The deafferentiated bone marrow shows disturbed proliferation and differentiation of cellular elements and dystrophic changes in them.
