[The efficacy of the biological insecticide BLP with regard to the larvae of blood-sucking mosquitoes in Uzbekistan]. / Effektivnost' biologicheskogo insektitsida BLP v otnoshenii lichinok krovososushchikh komarov v Uzbekistane.

The efficacy of a biologic larvicidal preparation BLP was under study; the insecticide was prepared on the basis of a new strain of B. thuringiensis var. israilensis H-14, isolated from natural material, and its activity to Ae. caspiens, C. pipiens, An. hyrcanus larvae was examined. The minimal effective dose of BLP used for the treatment of various water bodies is 0.5 kg per 10,000 m2. BLP is permitted by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Fishery of the Russian Federation for mosquito larvae control in water bodies, the permission has been approved by the Committee for Nature Protection.
