ABSTRACT

Outbreaks of diseases caused by toxic waste discharge took place in some cities where microbiological and petrochemical plants are located. The diseases manifested clinically with pulmonary edemas, irritative and intoxication syndromes and affected only subjects with chronic nonspecific lesions of the lungs. A hypophysis on bronchial asthma outbreaks secondary to paprin discharges in the atmosphere by microbiological plants was not confirmed.

ABSTRACT

Paramagnetic centers of the blood were investigated in 75 patients with chronic uremia (Electron Spin Resonance, 77 K). The analysis of hemodialysis action on paramagnetic centers in the blood showed that this procedure provokes gradual depression of antioxidant defense.

ABSTRACT

Doppler echocardiographic study of ventricular diastolic function in 90 BA patients gave evidence for diastolic left and right ventricular dysfunction in patients with moderately and gravely running BA. The above disorders were noted by changes in the speed of transmitral and transtricuspid flows: early filling rate (E) slowing, atrial systole filling rate (A) acceleration, E/A decrease. The degree of right ventricular diastolic dysfunction depends on right ventricular hypertrophy and total pulmonary resistance. Left ventricular diastolic function is related to right ventricular after-load.

ABSTRACT

The author provides evidence confirming the fact that disturbance of mucociliary clearance (mucobronchostasis) because of chronic bronchitis and repetitive contacts with allergens underlies asthmatic condition. Hypophysis on leading role of B2-adrenoreceptor block in pathogenesis of asthmatic condition was not confirmed as the block occurs occasionally and depends on the disease form and severity.

ABSTRACT

Biochemical and immunological studies were performed to study hepatic function in 137 patients, out of whom 74 were found to have aspirin-induced bronchial asthma, 23 atopic bronchial asthma, 23 infectious allergic bronchial asthma, 17 chronic persistent hepatitis. Cholestatic and hepatodepressive syndromes and hepatic detoxifying and absorptive-excretory dysfunctions were detected in patients with aspirin-induced bronchial asthma. As aspirin-induced bronchial asthma progresses, the rate of hepatobiliary dysfunctions increases, which undoubtedly plays a prominent role in the development of the disease.
