ABSTRACT

Activity was studied of blood serum plasmic enzymes L-serine and L-threonine dehydrogenazes (SDG and ThDG) in 92 liquidators of aftermath of the Chernobyl atomic power plant breakdown, presenting with chronic non-calculous cholecystitis during the stage of moderately severe exacerbation with no clinical and laboratory and sonographic signs of affection of the liver. A quarter of the examinees demonstrated an increased activity of the enzymes under study, which fact is regarded by the authors as a preclinical sign of reactive hepatitis. Recommendations are given as to the outpatient registration and prophylactic management and therapy of those persons having taken part in the elimination of the effects of the Chernobyl accident, presenting with biliary pathologies.

ABSTRACT

A retrospective analysis was performed of case histories and of results of sonographic investigations in liquidators of the Chernobyl accident suffering from chronic abnormalities of the biliary ducts. Patients with cholecystitis were studied for the biochemical composition of their bile. The incidence of the gallbladder disorders (chronic cholecystitis, angiocholitis, dyskinesias of the biliary ducts) has not changed much over the last 10 years having elapsed since the accident. The biochemical composition of bile was found to have been changed to a greater extent in the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident than it was in those having avoided danger of exposure to ionizing radiation. Mechanisms of origination of cholelithiasis are discussed on the basis of investigations designed to study biochemical properties of bile and findings secured with the aid of the ultrasound techniques.

ABSTRACT

The methodological approaches of isolation of preparations of FMDV structural polypeptides to analyse them by the electrophoresis and electro-focussing methods are presented. The value of isoelectric points of protein coat of FMDV structural polypeptides and corresponding them values of electric potential are determined. The similarity and differences of FMDV serotypes, characterized by the value of relative surface, falling on separate polypeptides, are determined for the virion structure on the basis of superposition principle. FMDV has been shown to possess the summarized negative charge of different values. The charge depends on the virus type and it is a determining condition for viruses resistance in environment. A graphical model of FMDV is suggested on the basis of systemic approach and it reflects the dipole character of electric charge distribution in virion structure and agrees with the virus model, built on the basis of icosahedron symmetry.

ABSTRACT

The industrial noxious factors during manufacturing of the fodder concentrate lysin are represented by dust, noise, vibration, microclimatic discomfort. Persons working in condition of lysin production showed functional changes of the nervous, cardiovascular and respiratory systems.

ABSTRACT

A mathematical analysis of the cardiac rhythm carried out in 89 workers of a biochemical plant allowed to evaluate the state of regulatory mechanisms of workers engaged in cormolysin production. The functional state proved to be tense in most young workers. This is suggested to be the result of inadequate reaction to loads and inadequate adaptation of the workers to the working conditions.

ABSTRACT

Results of clinico-functional examination in workers engaged in production of monomethylaniline semifinished products revealed a more frequent morbidity of the internal organs, moderate methemoglobinemia, functional changes of the cardio-vascular system, disorders of the pulmonary ventilation function, metabolic processes. These data should be considered in therapeutic-prophylactic measures.
