ABSTRACT

In the paper there are presented results of the research performed with the aid of the automated software complex "Health Express". There was determined the role of the participation of the pupil himself in an assessment of a state of his health, indices ofphysical development and psychological characteristics. There was proved the expediency of the active involvement of schoolchildren to the shaping of the program of activities on preservation and strengthening of a state of their health. There was shown the role of preventive work of the school teacher.

ABSTRACT

In the article there are presented data of the study of psycho-physiological indices of higher nervous activity in adolescents, there are established the interrelationships between the type of temperament and the level of performance of schoolchildren. There was made en evaluation of the prevalence of depressive states in 8th graders, defined the frequency of occurrence of various levels of anxiety. There are denoted basic directions of the preventive work on the anxiety level down in senior schoolchildren; as well as measures aimed at reduction of the number of students with depressive states.

ABSTRACT

The problem of bottom quality of prevention work directed to the saving and strengthening the health of schoolchildren, today is a very urgent and requires a joint activity of the pedagogical and medical community. In the article there are presented data proving the feasibility of an active teacher's work on the formation of health saving space in a present school. Conspicuous is the interest of schoolchildren to the problems of a healthy lifestyle during performance of interesting preventive measures with them and as a result risk mitigation subsequently. At the same time, there was noted a low level of training teachers in various fields (including biologists) on specialized problems of the prevention of healthy lifestyles, which points to the need for introduction into the curricula of higher educational institutions additional modules on health saving, as well as conducting training courses involving health care workers as for teachers as parents.

ABSTRACT

The problem of a comprehensive evaluation of the influence of major vital factors on the health of schoolchildren and students has been recently pressing. The paper contains the material obtained in the development of a comprehensive approach to the hygienic assessment of quality of life (QL) in pupils and young students. The findings enable one to state the fundamentals of the concept of a comprehensive approach to assessing QL in pupils, to introduce a new principle in the comparison of objective parameters with subjective ones, to prove the dynamics and variability of QL characteristics. The obtained material substantiates the need for theoretical and practical developments of this problem.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this work was to study effects of metoprolol on structural and functional characteristics of left ventricle (LV), cerebral circulation (CC), microcirculation (MC), lipid spectrum, rheologic and viscous properties of blood in patients with grade II-III hypertensive disease (HD) and metabolic syndrome. 65 patients in this condition (ESH/ESC, 2007) were given metoprolol (100-150 mg/d) and indapamide (1.5 mg/d) for 6 months. Daily AP profile, structural and functional characteristics of left ventricle were evaluated before and after therapy by echocardiography, cerebral dopplerography, conjunctival biomicroscopy, measurement of MC, hemorheologic parameters, blood lipid spectrum and glucose level. The target AP level and normalization of AP daily profile were achieved in 65% of the patients. The treatment improved myocardial contractility and diastolic function, decreased LV mass, corrected autoregulation of cerebral blood flow and MC. Metoprolol was shown to be metabolically inert. The study confirmed benefits of its application to the treatment of HD with metabolic syndrome.

ABSTRACT

To study the quality of students' life has been a challenge today. The paper contains the data of a study of life quality in male students who will be physical education teachers. Health is an indicator of the quality of the population's life. The study established deterioration of the students' health during their studies caused by the improper organization of a teaching-and-educational process. Therefore, this deteriorates the quality of the students' life. The findings show it necessary to further work-up this problem and to reveal the most significant factors of students' life quality.

ABSTRACT

Sapoviruses were found, for the first time, to be circulating in children with acute gastroenteritis in the city of Moscow. On the basis of a genetic analysis, they were classified as belonging to genotypes 1 and 2. Two groups of sapoviruses that are essentially different from the strains presented now at the GenBank NCBI were described within the case study.

ABSTRACT

The workers demonstrated longer prothrombin and thrombin time showing activity of extrinsic coagulation mechanism, shorter activated partial thromboplastin time characterizing activity of intrinsic coagulation mechanism. There was no definite dependence of hemostasis parameters on age and length of service. Coagulation parameters with biochemical and hematologic studies could be used to detect hazardous influence of occupational factors on workers.

ABSTRACT

Highly sensitive up-to-date research methods (enzyme immunoassay) for HbsAg and antibodies against HBsAg and HBcAg were employed to examine 565 adults and children living in the Kalmuck++ ASSR (Elista and adjacent regions), where in 1988-1989 cases of HIV-infection were recorded. Markers of HBV-infection were detected with a high enough frequency in the control group of children (15.2%). The prevalence of the infection in the adult population was at an intermediate level (38.9%). The high infectivity with HBV-infection was recorded among children who had been hospitalized before (for different diseases including chronic ones), among women who had undergone laboratory studies because of the diagnosis of HIV-infection in their children; among adult patients suffering from tuberculosis of morons from a closed boarding school. The highest frequency of HBV-infection marker demonstration was found in HIV-infected children (70%). The data obtained point to the necessity of vaccination against viral hepatitis B in risk groups (children and adults) and in the newborn as well as of raising the efficacy of preventing measures against infections transmitted via blood.

ABSTRACT

We have investigated the functional activity of human son gene, that possesses the homology to mos and myc genes. Specific antibodies (antiserum) were raised to synthetic peptide, that corresponds to son-protein 943-963 amino acid residues. With this antiserum the presence of son-protein was showed in lysates of cultured human cells transformed by adenovirus type 5, RAT 2 cells and primary human embryonic fibroblasts. son-Protein molecular weight (92 kDa) was determined by the method of electrophoresis in SDS-polyacrylamide gel. Thus, it was shown the presence of son gene protein in animal and human cells. To determine a possible son gene role in mammalian cells we have cloned the 3' part (2667 b.p.) of son cDNA in retroviral vector pPS-3-neo. Transformed cells of different lines were selected. A large portion of this cells changed their morphology. New protein product (120 k), that reacted with antiserum to son specific peptide, was found together with p92son in these clones.

ABSTRACT

Multifactorial statistical analysis was used to identify differential diagnostic cytological features of glandular hyperplasia, atypical hyperplasia and well-differentiated adenocarcinoma of the endometrium. Twelve cytological features were identified for calculating linear discriminant function. The effectiveness of the diagnostic algorithm depends upon the diagnostic value of the sample and proficiency of the cytologist.

ABSTRACT

Two observations (patients of 52- and 48-years old) in which endometrial carcinoma developed in one half of a double uterus. Tumours were highly differentiated and completely replaced a left half of the uterus. The endometrium of the right half was with no change. 52-year--old patients had endometrioid carcinoma of the right ovary as well.

ABSTRACT

Morphological characteristics of endometrial precancerous changes (dysplasia) are given with special reference to the degree and the direction of differentiation (endometrial, metaplastic). On the basis of these data the signs of endometrial carcinoma are standardized.

ABSTRACT

The indirect immunofluorescent technique was used to study the distribution of the ascitic fluid antigen (AgD) on histological sections from surgical specimens of gastric and colon tumours from proximal to distal lines of resection. AgD was found in gastric tumours exceptionally in the tumour area and in colon cancer--both in the tumour stroma and in surrounding histologically normal mucosa.
