ABSTRACT

Examination of the numerous anomalies of the chromosomes 13, 18, 21, X, Y was carried out using FISH method before the IVF attempt in the patients with astheno-, oligo- and teratozoospermia. The percentage of aneuploid spermatozoa was magnificently higher (p < 0.05) in patients with oligozoospermia comparing with the ones with astheno- and teratozoospermia. There is a significant difference in content of spermatozoa with cytoplasmic drop depending on the FISH result.

ABSTRACT

Melatonin in low doses of (0.05 and 0.5 mg/kg) administered to senescent rats in winter and summer inhibited free radical oxidation and LPO. The antioxidant effect of melatonin increased with increasing the dose of the hormone. Changes in test parameters were more pronounced in winter, but the directionality of changes did not depend on the duration of the light period.

ABSTRACT

A study made in 77 patients with different form of thyropathy revealed increased blood plasma and erythrocyte content of lipid peroxidation products, such as diene conjugates and TBA-active producers. The plasma chemiluminescence got more intense as well. Different mechanisms for the lipid peroxidation activation in patients presenting with thyroid hormone abundance or deficiency have been analyzed.

ABSTRACT

The processes of lipids free-radical oxidation in euthyroid and thyrotoxic tissue samples of human thyroid gland were studied. It was shown, that the content of TBA-active lipid peroxidation products was considerably increased in thyrotoxic tissue of the thyroid, and the activity of antioxidant enzymes (catalase, glutation peroxidase) was decreased in it. Possible mechanism of the tissue lipoperoxide alternation under conditions of the thyroid hyperfunction is discussed.
