ABSTRACT
Periarterial alcohol-procaine blockade causes an effect similar to that of procaine blockade; it improves the supply of blood not only to the brain stem but also to the anterior parts of the brain through removal of the neuroreflex influences and improvement of collateral circulation. It causes stable improvement of the patient's condition, particularly in dystonic and dystonic-ischemic stages of the vertebral artery syndrome. The results of clinical study allowed indications to be formulated and revealed the absence of contraindications for the method of treatment elaborated.
