ABSTRACT

The ability to visualize the three-dimensional anatomy of the root canal system is essential in both surgical and nonsurgical endodontic procedures. Endodontists have adopted two new technologies to enhance visualization: the surgical operating microscope and digital radiographic imaging. This review article discusses the uses and benefits of these technologies and how they have advanced the art and science of modern endodontic treatment.
