ABSTRACT

We describe an enzyme-immunoassay for the determination of factor VIII related antigen. The principle of the method is the following: Test plasma is mixed with rabbit antibodies against human factor VIII in excess and incubated at 37 degrees C. The incubation mixture is added to polystyrene tubes coated with human factor VIII. The rabbit antibody is available to adhere to factor VIII coating the tube and can be detected with an enzyme-labeled wether antibody to rabbit IgG. This method is sensitive to 7.8 x 10(-3) U/ml factor VIII antigen.

ABSTRACT

We describe an enzyme-immunoassay for the determination of factor VIII antigen. After representation of the isolation of proteins the enzyme-immunoassay is presented. The principle of the method is the following: Test plasma is mixed with rabbit antibody in excess and incubated at 37 degrees C. The incubation mixture is added to polystyrene tubes, which are coated with human factor VIII. The rabbit antibody is available to adhere to factor VIII coating the tube and can be detected with an enzyme-labeled antibody to rabbit IgG. This method is sensitive to 7.8 . 10(-3) U/ml factor VIII antigen; the variation coefficient is 10.9%.

ABSTRACT

The clinical efficacy of antithrombolytic drugs in different combinations was studied on a large contingent of patients with cerebral, coronary atherosclerosis and obliterating atherosclerosis of the vessels. It was shown that regular administration of acetylsalicylic acid with coumarin derivatives prolongs life of patients with cardiovascular diseases and decreases the number of vascular catastrophes.

ABSTRACT

The effect of Infukoll 6% was observed in 58 surgical patients during 3 respectively 14 days in the postoperative phase by means of the Breddin and the Borntest. Infukoll showed a small effect as an inhibitor of the thrombocyte agglutination and for the regulation of the thrombocyte level in blood. The main effect lies in the rheological sector.

ABSTRACT

A long-term clinical trial in micristin-treated patients suffering from organic arterial circulatory disturbances is reported. Problems of therapy monitoring by determination of the ASA level in plasma and of control of platelet aggregation are discussed. Acute cardiovascular complications (myocardial infarction, stroke, acute vascular occlusion, amputation and angiographically demonstrated progression) were observed. The observation time did not suffice to establish statistically significant differences between micristin therapy anticoagulant treatment and basic cardiovascular therapy. The results are suggestive of a more beneficial effect of anticoagulant treatment.
