ABSTRACT

The authors reviewed 15 surgical procedures of tarsal tunnel syndrome in 13 patients, seen through the podiatry clinics at Sheridan Road Hospital. Each patient was contacted and asked to state their overall satisfaction in four categories, ranging from poor to excellent. Each case was reviewed with an attempt to correlate patient satisfaction with the etiology involved. The authors report very good or excellent results in 11 of 15 procedures. Three cases resulted in moderate relief of symptoms. One poor result was associated with an unidentified peripheral neuropathy. When trauma was identified as the causative factor (eight cases) very good or excellent results were achieved.
