ABSTRACT

For (k, n)-threshold secret image sharing (SIS) scheme, only k or more than k complete parts can recover the secret information, and the correct image cannot be obtained if the count of shadow images is not enough or the shadow images are damaged. The existing schemes are weak in resisting large-area shadow image tampering. In this paper, we propose a robust secret image sharing scheme resisting to maliciously tampered shadow images by Absolute Moment Block Truncation Coding (AMBTC) and quantization (RSIS-AQ). The secret image is successively compressed in two ways: AMBTC and quantization. The sharing shadow images contain the sharing results of both compressed image from different parts, so that even the shadow images are faced with large-scale area of malicious tampering, the secret image can be recovered with acceptable visual quality. Compared with related works, our scheme can resist larger area of tampering and yield better recovered image visual quality. The experimental results prove the effectiveness of our scheme.

ABSTRACT

A convenient and efficient approach to (E)-alkylsulfonyl olefins via a metal/light-free three-component reaction of alkenylboronic acids, sodium metabisulfite and Katritzky salts is described. This alkylsulfonylation proceeds smoothly with a broad substrate scope, leading to diverse (E)-alkylsulfonyl olefins in moderate to good yields. During the process, excellent functional group tolerance is observed and sodium metabisulfite is used as the source of sulfur dioxide. Mechanistic studies show that the alkyl radical generated in situ from Katritzky salt via a single electron transfer with alkenylboronic acid or DIPEA is the key step for providing an alkyl radical intermediate, which undergoes further alkylsulfonylation with sulfur dioxide.

ABSTRACT

Polymer nanocomposite fibers are important one-dimensional nanomaterials that hold promising potential in a broad range of technological applications. It is, however, challenging to organize advanced polymer nanocomposite fibers with sufficient mechanical properties and flexibility. Here, we demonstrate that strong, tough and flexible polymer nanocomposite fibers can be approached by electrospinning of a supramolecular ensemble of dissimilar and complementary components including flexible multiwalled carbon nanotubes (CNT), and stiff cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) in an aqueous poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) system. CNT and CNC are bridged by a water-soluble aggregation-induced-emission (AIE) molecule that forms π-π stacking with CNT via its conjugated chains, and electrostatic attraction with CNC through its positive charges leading to a soluble CNT-AIE-CNC ensemble, which further assembles with PVA through hydrogen bonds. A high level of ordering of the nanoscale building blocks combined with hydrogen bonding leads to a more efficient stress transfer path between the reinforcing unit and the polymer. The nanocomposite fiber mat is capable of selective detection of nitroaromatic explosives.
