ABSTRACT

During septic intoxication in diffuse peritonitis poisoning is accompanied by circulatory and volemic failures, considerable changes in immune status, basically of the cellular component of T-system. Several sorption methods were applied which produced different effects on the pathologic process. Extracorporeal application of spleen-xeno and ultraviolet irradiation of autoblood considerably increased the immune reactivity. Plasmapheresis and hemosorption administration had low immunocorrective effect. It is believed reasonable to employ a combination detoxication methods.

ABSTRACT

An immunocorrective effect of current methods of detoxication in experimental acute destructive pancreatitis was studied on 40 mongrel male dogs with body mass 13-15 kg. It was found that destructive pancreatitis is associated with a decrease in immunological reactivity, mainly in T-cell immunity component. Application of spleen xeno and ultraviolet irradiation of autoblood proved most effective as early treatment. On treatment day 3-7 immunological indices recovered and even increased after hemosorption.

ABSTRACT

On the basis of examination results and treatment of 49 patients with abdominal gunshot injuries the article emphasizes that the clinical picture of gunshot peritonitis develops much faster, and the syndrome of intoxication proceeds far harder, than in cases of peritonitis with another etiology. The authors make a conclusion that an early application of extracorporal methods of detoxication (hemosorption, plasmapheresis, ultraviolet irradiation of autologous blood, xenospleen connection) could minimize the level of intoxication and contribute to the correction of the immune status.

ABSTRACT

Thus, basing on the data obtained it was stated that the destructive pancreatitis is always accompanied by intoxication. A certain weakening of the immune mechanisms took place, mainly of its T-cellular chain. Detox methods of treatment had different effects on the organism. The most effective among them happened to be plasmapheresis and spleen-xeno as they significantly decrease hyperfermentation and toxemia. The application of hemosorption and ultra-violet irradiation of blood had favourable immunocorrective effect at the early stage. It should be noted that the application of spleen-xeno was normalizing the immune mechanisms at the later stage of experimental acute pancreatitis.
