ABSTRACT

The 51 different Bonefit implants inserted in the past five years at the Department of Prosthodontics have been functioning without any complain. The implants had been supervising frequently and nearby the implants exposed to increased load could not be realised any pathological change.

ABSTRACT

The authors emphasise the similarities in the prosthodontic treatment of the 14-18 age group and adult patients. This is a new concept compared to the available reports in the scientific literature. According to their opinion permanent prosthodontic treatment should be provided from the age of fourteen.

ABSTRACT

The author's suggestion is a new implantological prosthetical classification according to the number and position of the remaining teeth. It is simple, taking into consideration the procedure of becoming edentulous, showing the grade of difficulty of the implantological application and gives advices for making the treatment plan.

ABSTRACT

The 700 teen-agers of 14 to 19 years of age observed in the course of national dental screen tests between 1985 and 1989 showed 1198 edentulousness and 154 destroyed teeth. Dental appliances were prepared but for 33 juveniles which, in case of 14 persons, were covering crowns or pin teeth while with 19 thereof it were bridges. Thereby 3.25% of the existing deficiencies were replaced. Removable dentures have not been prepared at all although it would have been justified.

ABSTRACT

The planning of fixed prostheses comprising also implant abutment is determined by that, as regards loadability, none of the implant kinds can be considered as first rate abutment tooth. At planning bridges the procedure according to the prosthetic principles related to weaker or damaged periodontium teeth is employed.

ABSTRACT

The dental and mouth hygiene of youth of 14 to 19 years of age have been separately analyzed from the results of the general dental screen test performed between 1985 and 89 by the Clinic of Prosthetic Dentistry of Budapest. The global DMF-T index of the first national sites was 8.99 and the OHI-S index was 1.37.

ABSTRACT

Designing of fixed replacements also containing the implant abutment is determined by that none of the implant kinds can be regarded as first rate abutment tooth in view of loadability. In the course of designing bridges the prosthetic principles regarding the weaker or damaged periodontic teeth are followed. Burning sensation is a common complaint in the patients suffering from a contact allergic reaction of the oral cavity. Several studies are available in the literature for testing the allergenicity of dental materials. Standard test series were designed to detect allergens present in plastics and metals used in prosthetic dentistry. The epicutaneous patch-test was carried out with Finn Chamber. The test material was placed into the chamber, which was applied on the back of the patients for 24 or 48 hours, and was read after removal at fixed intervals. The authors stress the desirability of the allergic prescreening in dentistry.

ABSTRACT

The replacement of missing teeth by a fixed restoration in the juvenile dentition presents various problems. One of them is that the growth and development of the entire masticatory organ continues until around the 18th year of age. It was the goal of a longitudinal study to find out when a fixed tooth replacement can be used in an adolescent without impairing the final development of the jaw bones. For this reason the transverse and sagittal dimensions of the dental arches of male adolescents aged 14 to 18 years were measured every year, and the palatal surfaces were measured in the first and last year of the study. The values determined for the dental arches remained constant. The mean values and deviations revealed no significant differences. From a prosthodontic point of view the development of the dental arches and the palate may be considered as concluded.
