ABSTRACT

The influence of purulent claw-diseases on the development of uterus infections, its involution and ovary dysfunctions (acyclia, cysts) was examined. It was shown that A. pyogenes, Ps. aeruginosa, Fus. necrophorum and other microorganisms involved in these lesions are potential sources for the infections of the uterus. In comparison with the controls the frequency of endometritis was twice in the group with claw-problems. Similar differences existed in the involution-time of the uterus or its atonia, acyclia and the development of ovarian cysts (p less than 0.01). The Index of insemination was elevated by about 65%.

ABSTRACT

Four horses manifesting locomotor incoordination were used in the research. Precise localization of the compression of cervical spinal cord due to malforming lesions or instability of the vertebral column was determined by means of radiography and myelography. The results, particularly those obtained by means of myelography, appeared to be of decisive diagnostic importance to planned surgical operation to remove the compression of the spinal cord.

ABSTRACT

The influence of 30 chosen medicaments on healing of 148 surgical claw wounds obtained by removing the lateral part of horny capsule was examined. 37 cows of black and white breed were the subject of the investigation. The course of treatment was stated throughout clinical and histological examinations and the evaluation of its final results (the regenerated horn) was made. The interdependence of healing of the pododerm and application of the medicaments was stated. Their form and composition influences the healing.
