ABSTRACT

The paper outlines the results of mesodiencephalic modulation (MDM) as therapy in adults and children with neurological and mental diseases in the out- and inpatient setting. MDM is a method of transcranial electric therapy that normalizes the performance of the hypothalamohypophyseal and opioid systems of the brain, which ultimately improves the body's adaptive response in disease.

ABSTRACT

Mesodiencephalic modulation (MDM), transcranial exposure of the middle brain structures to electric signal, selectively activates central regulatory systems. MDM has been introduced into the practice of the Center for Hearing and Speech Disorders. A course of treatment on the MDM-1 unit was performed in 665 patients. Irrespective of the symptoms and the disease, 6-7 procedures resulted in improvement. 5% of cases improved significantly 1-2 weeks after the end of the treatment, 17 patients (2.7%) required a repeated course 2-3 months after the initial treatment.
