ABSTRACT

On a thirty five homogeneous group of arteriosclerotic patients, the authors study by means of the Kappa test the validity of arteriographic and non invasive techniques data interpretation by two trained observers. Then they compared between the conclusion of these methods again with Kappa test. The viability of arteriographic and Doppler interpretation is good. The comparison between arteriographic and external techniques results needs strong reduction of the arteriographic data in large classifications. Doppler (with distal pressure) is the best of non invasive techniques, the others staying less selective. The good correlation between arteriography and doppler data observed in main arteries is maximum for femoral arteries and decreases in distal arteries mainly because of a poor filling due to proximal lesions.

ABSTRACT

39 cases of congenital anomalies in the origin and/or in the distribution of the coronary arteries arisen from the aorta, without associated cardiac abnormality, seen in the course of 6 525 selective coronary arteriographies in adults, are reported and integrated into a general classification of coronary arteries abnormalities. The clinical correlation of these anomalies is specified. The authors emphasize the importance of their diagnosis in the surgery of valve replacement or of myocardial revascularization.

ABSTRACT

We report the case of a still-born baby girl who had a rare craniostenosis known as the "clover leaf skull syndrome". The 125 previously reported cases were reviewed allowing us to better define the principal features of this condition.

ABSTRACT

The First European Seminar on Contrast Media in Radiology, organized by Prof. M. Amiel in Lyon in 1981, included the majority of the groups working in this field in Europe, as well as several specialists from other regions (United States, Japan, Australia). The results of this meeting are an updating of the "image creating" drugs. The dominant themes were toxicity problems and development adapted to progress in radiology.

ABSTRACT

A macroscopic and microscopic anatomical study of the knees of 10 Beagles showed that thin osteo-chondral autografts taken from another joint healed perfectly macroscopically and almost perfectly histologically, if they fitted very well (figure 2). Rib cartilage grafts fitted perfectly to a dog's knee were not successful unless the perichondrium was turned towards the bone, in which case cartilage proliferated on the surface (figure 4). There was very little loss of substance but trans-chondro-osseus perforation also revealed a chondrogenic mode (figure 4). No trace was found in the literature of work concerning a comparison of these two types of grafts in the same experiment.
