[Iron deficiency anemia caused by occult intestinal bleeding due to milk allergy (author's transl)]. / Eisenmangelanämie infolge okkulter Darmblutungen bei Milchallergie.

With the passive hemagglutination method the authors proved antibodies against milkprotein fractions in three of nine patients with hypochrome anemia aged 7, 12 and 17 months. In these children the X-ray examination showed an intestinal allergy, presumably the reason for occult intestinal bleeding which inturn caused hypochrome anemia. After milk was eliminated from the diet iron therapy restored a normal haemoglobin content. Iron therapy alone only improved the anemia, since continuing intestinal bleeding prevented fullrecovery.

Microwave method for determing dielectric parameters of living biological objects I.

At frequencies higher than 3 GHZ the dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the proteins and of water bound to them are negligible as compared to dielectric values of water. Therefore microwave measurements give direct information of dielectric properties of water contained in living cells (Schwan, 1965). In our work we have developed a method for determining microwave dielectric parameters of biological objects and carried out exploratory measurements at 6.3 GHZ, in temperature range 20-50 degrees C.
