ABSTRACT

The dynamics of mental health of the population of the Altai Territory evaluated within a ten-year study (1991-2000) revealed pronounced negative processes with the most essential ones being in the children and teenagers category. The complicated social-and-economic transformations conducted in Russian society during the last decade of the past century, which entailed the misadjusted response in a majority of population, exerted an unfavorable influence on the mental health condition. The authors suggested a system of measures and arrangements targeted at neutralizing the detected negative trends in the population mental health; the above system can be successfully used in any country's region.

ABSTRACT

The proposed system for evaluating the quality and efficiency of medical care, including universal parameters with quantitative expression, allows the comparison, evaluation, and mathematical processing of these parameters. The method helps detect violations of medical technologies, irrational utilization of resources, directly compare the results and use them for preliminary testing of validity of the managing decisions.

ABSTRACT

Intravenous injection of large L-thyroxine doses (200 micrograms/100 g) was shown to activate kinin formation and to reduce arterial pressure by 33% in experimental white rats. It was established that sensitivity of bradykinin receptors increases during experimental thyrotoxicosis. During kininogenesis inhibition with contrykal, a kallikrein inhibitor, as well as during the kinin system components deficiency, intravenous injection of the same thyroxine doses did not result in arterial pressure changes. The results obtained suggest that hypotensive effect of thyroxine is mediated via the kallikrein kinin system.
