ABSTRACT

Polyposis of the colon is a colon cancer predisposition syndrome. Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) accounts for 1% of the cases of inherited colorectal cancer (CRC). The National Register of inherited CRC and polyposis of the intestines keeps track of 18 patients from 14 families with FAP. Eight of them have been operated of CRC, on 6 patients preventive colectomy with ileorectal anastomosis has been done and four patients refused surgery. Colectomy has been done due to the malignant development also on a female patient with difused juvenile polyposis with adenomatosis. Of three patients under surveillance with the Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, surgery has been done on one female patient with ileus and bleeding large polyps.

ABSTRACT

The necrotizing soft tissue infection caused by anaerobic microorganisms or by mixed aerobic-anaerobic flora is one of the most severe infections in surgical practice with a mortality rate up to 75%. Of great importance for successful treatment are the early diagnosis followed by aggressive debridement and adequate antibacterial therapy. Depending on the studies of 358 isolates made in the Clinic of Septic Surgery, we specify the most often used antibiotics in cases of severe anaerobic surgical infection. It is established that the incidence of this severe infection is unpredictable and its spreading depends on the immune answer the concomitant illnesses and the previous undertaken surgeries of the patient.

ABSTRACT

In 13 children with deep burns in the region of functionally important anatomical flexions, the wounds were covered with rotation skin flaps from the vicinity. The purpose of the method used is the prevention of post-burn contractures, which are particularly expressed in the process of the child's growth. After observation of the operated patients over 3 years, the results of operation justify the conclusion that it is purposeful to utilize skin resources from the vicinity of the wound surface to achieve more rapid and more effective restoration of anatomical integrity and function in deep burns on flexions of the body.
