ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim: To develop, substantiate and experimentally test the methodology for the development of coordination abilities in 6-10 years old boys with postural disorders during their physical education training sessions. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The experimental (EG) and the control groups (CG) were formed to organize the pedagogical experiment. The EG included 17 boys and the CG consisted of 19 boys. The EG was engaged in sports activities according the developed methodology and the CG followed the current school curricula on physical education. RESULTS: Results: The methodology for the development of coordination abilities in 6-10 years old boys with postural disorders in the process of their physical education has been developed. Its peculiarity lies in the accentuated influence on the vestibular, motor and visual analyzers with the help of a system of exercises aimed at controlling movements in space in static positions and during movement. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The obtained results testify to the effectiveness of the developed methodology. The EG boys had significantly higher indicators of static balance and coordination abilities at body position change, as well as general coordination of movements (p ≤ 0.05) at the end of the academic year than those of the CG. In addition, the number of 6-10 years old boys with various postural disorders decreased by 7.4 % (from 26.8 % to 19.4 %).

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim: Is to develop, theoretically substantiate and experimentally test the effectiveness of the methods of determining the individual motor performance of 17-18 years old young males in the process of exercise. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The research was conducted at the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Health of the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University in 2019-2020. The research involved 17-18 years old male students during the 1st and the 2nd years of their education (n = 168). Two groups of students were formed: the experimental group (EG, n = 84), which consisted of the students who were engaged according to our developed methods of determining the individual motor performance of 17-18 years old young males in the process of exercise, and the control group (CG, n = 84), which consisted of the students who were engaged in classes on physical education according to the generally accepted methods without taking into account the standards of motor performance. RESULTS: Results: The relationship of motor performance with indicators of physical health, morphofunctional and mental features of young males is revealed, the computer program called "Activity for health" which reflects process of definition of individual standard of motor performance, creation of the individual program of training, the analysis and adjustment of the results of practical activities with the help of modern information and communication technologies is developed and introduced in the educational process. Determination of the level of motor performance shows that the young males of the EG showed significantly (p ≤ 0.05) better indicators than the young males of the CG. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The obtained results allow asserting the effectiveness of the developed methods of determining the individual motor performance of 17-18 years old young males in the process of exercise with the use of information and communication technologies which have a positive effect on improving the psychophysical indicators of the students, which in turn increases their motor performance and motivation for physical education.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim is to investigate the state of health of the students of Ukrainian higher education institutions. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The study of state of health was conducted at Polissia National University and Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University in 2008-2019. The results of a medical examination of 3737 students of different faculties between the ages of 17 and 22 were examined. Medical examinations were conducted by the doctors of the medical centers of universities. Totally 1208 pupils (male and female) of the schools of Zhytomyr region were involved in the questionnaire, which was conducted to analyze the attendance of physical education classes by pupils while studying at school. 648 students of Polissia National University participated in the study of the self-assessment of their own health, causes, and structure of disease incidence, the dynamics of the loss of labor capacity. RESULTS: Results: It was established that from 24 to 30.8 % of the students had diseases and a low level of physical development that indicated a low level of physical education at schools. It was revealed that the number of sick students was increasing during the study at higher educational institutions (HEI) that led to missing classes. Besides, up to 35.5 % of students had health disorders and belonged to a special medical group. And 1.7 % of the students had chronic diseases and disabilities and were exempted from sports. It was found that physical education and sports took the 5th place in the system of life values of male students and the 12th place in the system of life values of female students. CONCLUSION: Conclusions:Physical education, aimed at enhancing the functional capacity of an organism, the development of physical qualities, the improvement of the special physical and technical readiness in the sphere of physical activity types and the acquisition of professionally applied skills and abilities, is the basis for strengthening the health of students of Ukraine.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim is to carry out the analysis of the disease incidence of students and to scientifically substantiate the directions of improving health and fitness activity in the physical education of the students of special medical groups. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The study was conducted at Zhytomyr National Agroecological University in 1992-2019. The main pedagogical experiment involved 681 students (209 males and 472 females, aged 17-22). The research methods included theoretical methods (the analysis and synthesis of literary sources, the analysis of curricula, the assessment of the quality of classes with the students of special medical groups, the study and analysis of the medical cards of students); empirical methods (pedagogical observations, the methods of mathematical statistics). RESULTS: Results: The study determined that more than 57.6 % students of higher educational establishments of Ukraine had an unsatisfactory level of physical fitness, significant physical disabilities, diseases; from 10.9 to 20.5 % students had an insufficient level of physical fitness and significant health disorders; from 8.1 to 17.4 % students belongedto a special medical group; from 0.4 to 1.2 % students were exempt from sports and had chronic diseases and disabilities. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The quality of the physical education process in special medical groups depends on the interconnection of all the components that affect its efficiency, including an outlook, motives, interests, the attitude of students to physical education and health-improving activities; the students' desire to overcome their health disabilities; individualcharacteristics of students; the means, forms, methods, and principles of physical self-improvement; material and technical support of educational and health and fitness events.
