ABSTRACT
There was analyzed a 35-years experience of surgical treatment of 683 patients, suffering achalasia of cardia. Comparative analysis of different methods of operative interventions efficacy, including those, using laparoscopic access, was conducted. There was established, that esophagocardiomyotomy together with partial widening fundoplication guarantees good late results achievement in 96.6% of patients. Application of laparoscopic esophagocardiomyotomy and anterior widening fundoplication permits to secure all advantages of miniinvasive access and efficacy, comparable with such of the open access.

Gastric banding and gastric shunting constitute the most frequently used methods of operations for treatment of morbid obesity, they owe certain advantages and disadvantages. The indications for choice of these operations are discussed. The comparative analysis of gastric banding and gastric shunting operations was conducted.

In 25.2% patients, suffering morbid obesity, dyslipidemia was revealed, manifesting by the triglycerids (TG) and cholesterol superlow--density lipoproteins (CHSLDLP) levels raising and atherogeneicity coefficient enhancement. In patients, suffering morbid obesity, after gastric shunting and banding performance, the lipids metabolism indices normalization was noted. In concomitant type II diabetes mellitus the accomplished gastric shunting secures trustworthy the TG and CHSLDLP levels, gastric shunting proved itself more effective procedure than gastric banding.

Comparative analysis of quality of life level was done, using the Moorehead-Ardelt II system, in 45 patients suffering morbid obesity, to whom gastric banding was performed as well as in 42 patients, to whom gastric shunting was done. The aim of the work was to make the results presented unified and the indications for bariatric surgery more precise.

The gastric banding remote results, performed in 240 patients, suffering morbid superobesity, were estimated. The results of a guided and nonguided gastric banding were analyzed, the body mass lessening dynamics, postoperative complications character and frequency, the operation impact on concurrent diseases course were studied.

Late follow-up results of gastric shunting operation, performed in 45 patients for morbid superobesity, were studied. The main complications were analyzed, the influence of the operations on concurrent diseases course and principal indices of KEY carbohydrate, lipid, protein and electrolyte metabolism was studied.

The quality of life estimation according to Moorehead-Ardelt II system was conducted. The sweet-eater syndrome determination was elaborated and introducted in 45 patients, suffering morbid obesity, to whom gastric banding was performed. The investigation was conducted to unify the results and specify indications for some bariatric operations performance.
