ABSTRACT

AIM: To investigate sex- and age-specific characteristics of arterial hypertension prevalence in type 2 diabetics with obesity. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Sex- and age-specific features of hypertension prevalence were studied in 6177 (1345 males and 4832 females) type 2 diabetic obese citizens of the Novgorod region. RESULTS: The highest incidence of mild hypertension was found in obesity degrees I and II (50-68%). Prevalence of moderate and severe hypertension reached 20-31 and 4-5%, respectively, in obesity of degree I and II, 15% in males and 11% in females in obesity degree III. CONCLUSION: In type 2 DM obese patients mild hypertension occurs most frequently. Severe hypertension develops often in males with obesity degree II and III in age groups 50-59 and 60-69 years, in females--in any obesity at the age of 70 and older.

ABSTRACT

It is shown that Wistar male rats keeping without medication and stressful effects for a month after administration of big doses of dopamine for two weeks does not lead to complete inverse development of heart remodeling. A decrease of the heart's mass occurs mainly because of a decrease of the right ventricle mass. The greatest changes of the extracellular matrix take place in the right ventricle: collagen level grows more noticeably, edema of the extracellular space relieves, correlations between collagen and blood vessels, cardiac hystiocytes and blood vessels increase aggravating right ventricular remodeling.

ABSTRACT

To study the pubescent characteristics of the prevalence of the arterial hypertension, the hyperglycemia, the hypercholesterolemia, the overweight and their combination the comprehensive examination of 4837 citizen of the City of Veliki Novgorod and Novgorod oblast aged from 20 to 87 years was organized. The analysis revealed in the examined territory the higher prevalence of hypertension and other studied risk factors and their combination are strongly related to the gender and the age of population. The prevalence of the obesity and the hyperglycemia, the combination of the overweight with the arterial hypertension and the hyperglycemia and the combination of the arterial hypertension with the hyperglycemia as well are significantly higher in the female subpopulation and in the elder population. It is established that the arterial hypertension affects about 46.80% of the adult population. The hyperglycemia is detected in 6.039% of cases. The prevalence of the fore-obesity and the obesity itself among male population consists of 50.4% and among female population--63.1%. The I degree obesity occurs among the females twice time more often than among the males; the II degree obesity--fourth times more often and the III degree obesity--sixth times more often. Among the females, as compared with the males, the prevalence of the combination of the arterial hypertension with the overweight is 1.5 times higher, the combination of the arterial hypertension with the hyperglycemia--1.7 times higher and the combination of the overweight with the hyperglycemia--1.7 times higher.

ABSTRACT

The authors revealed that actual prevalence of various COLD exceeded the registered value 3.3 times. The actual prevalence appeared to be under influence from tobacco smoking habits distribution, effects of industrial dust pollutants, chronic nasopharyngeal infections, respiratory infections, age, and atmospheric pollution.

ABSTRACT

As many as 56 healthy women and 45 women of reproductive age, suffering from essential hypertension (EH) were examined for the effect of ovarian cycle phases on vegetative regulation of central hemodynamics and pharmacodynamic effects of hemiton. The healthy persons in the phase of proliferation (I) and secretion (III) demonstrated the predominance of the parasympathetic tone and high responsiveness of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The phase of ovulation (II) and the menstrual phase (IV) were characterized by the high sympathetic tone and low responsiveness of both parts of the ANS. The lowest values of the stroke and minute blood volumes were detected in phase II, whereas the highest ones in phase IV. In EH patients, the recurrence of ANS function was disturbed, the dynamics of the parameters became opposite to that seen in healthy persons. Hemiton produced the maximal hypotensive effect in phases I and II, the minimal one in phases III and IV. In phases I and III, the drug minimized the cardiac output; the general peripheral resistance was reduced in phases I and II; in phase IV, the drug did not provoke any significant changes in hemodynamics. The data obtained permit a differentiated approach to the distribution of the hemiton dose required for the treatment course in EH women of reproductive age.

ABSTRACT

Isoptin and obsidan were demonstrated to cause a significant increase in exercise tolerance in patients with Stages I and II hypertensive disease. The response of blood pressure to isoptin and obsidan was virtually identical, yet isoptin acted longer. When obsidan was administered, there was a decrease in specific peripheral vascular resistance with a stepwise elevation of blood pressure, whereas isoptin promoted its slight rise with maximally elevated blood pressure. Isoptin administration prevented brain hyperperfusion at maximum blood pressures.

ABSTRACT

The hemodynamic effects of anaprilin at various hours of the day in patients with essential hypertension depends on the initial type of central hemodynamics. The negative inotropic effect of anaprilin in the hyperkinetic type is revealed with high frequency at all hours of the day, in the eukinetic type at 10 p. m. and in the hypokinetic type at 5 p. m. In the initial hyperkinetic type of hemodynamics the hypotensive effect of anaprilin is pronounced at midday and 10 p.m., in the eukinetic type at 7 a. m., midday and 5 p. m. and in the hypokinetic type at 7 a. m.

ABSTRACT

The degree of hemodynamic and vegetative changes is determined to a great extent by the time of clopheline intake. The maximal changes in the sympathetic activity at rest and during active orthostasis were revealed in the morning hours and in the second half of the day, the minimal ones--in the afternoon hours. The hemodynamic changes were most pronounced at 12 o'clock and minimal at 7 o'clock.

ABSTRACT

Healthy men, representatives of the indigenous population and newcomers, have some differences on the part of the vegetative and cardiovascular system. The newcomers mostly show coronary atherosclerosis and predominance of the tone of the ergotropic system. The cardio- and hemodynamic differences manifest by more pronounced shifts on making orthostatic and exercise tests, by an appreciable rise of myocardial contractility and energy expenditure for blood translocation.

ABSTRACT

The leukocyte intoxication index (LII) was examined in 292 patients with acute abscesses, pulmonary gangrenes and pneumonias. The more extended and severe the process, the higher were the LII parameters. It was the highest in patients with pulmonary gangrene, the lowest with focal pneumonia. The index is considered to represent the dynamics of the process allowing to timely diagnose the development of the disease and its complications. A simple formula of LII is proposed which makes its application easier.
