ABSTRACT

"Hygitest" detector tubes for ethyl acetate based on a silica gel carrier treated with an indicator reagent--chromium-sulphuric acid were developed. Their quality parameters were compared with the characteristics of the detector tubes for ethyl acetate produced by other companies. An evaluation of the developed detector tubes in industrial atmosphere was carried out. The results obtained are discussed in view of the non-specificity of the detector tubes proposed.

ABSTRACT

The results are announced of the treatment of 64 (1.28%) complicated incisions after 4981 obstetric and gynecological interventions over a 3-year period. The cases observed are distributed in two groups: Group One--30 patients treated with the medicinal and surgical methods used in traditional clinic practice, and Group Two--34 patients undergone laser therapy. Comparing the results of the treatment the authors arrive at the conclusions that the He-Neon laser has a place in the treatment of complicated incisions in obstetric and gynecological practices helping to avoid certain allergic reactions, to reduce considerably the hospital stay and therefore has an economic effect.

ABSTRACT

A new type of system is made for determination of chemical pollutants in the air--indicator tubes with noncylindrical indicator filling--a subject of invention. The effect of the noncylindrical form on the metrological characteristics of the indicator tubes is studied. The noncylindrical filling is a way to influence these characteristics without changing the chemical receipt. There are a number of advantages: increasing more of 10x the sensitivity; linearization of the logarithmic characteristics of the indication dusts; possibility to lay two contrary scales on the conical indicator tubes for sucking respectively from the one or the other side of the asymmetric indicator filling, thus realising opportunities for defining of very low or very high accuracy. A new type of sampling system is established in practice. The dependences are given graphically.

ABSTRACT

The accuracy of the determinations made by the indicator tubes is constantly improved by the introduction of accurate dosage apparatuses for their calibration and due to the methods and criteria for the control of their quality. Modern dosage apparatuses for calibration were designed at RIHOD, reading the effect of air humidity and some other obstructive substances. A mathematical model was obtained, via a statistical way, of air humidity effect on the indices of some kinds indicator tubes for chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulphur dioxide, etc. Correction coefficients were introduced reading air humidity effect, in this way guaranteeing the error of the determination not to exceed the allowable error, internationally accepted, of +/- 25%. In fact, the results obtained for the error were between 8 and 15% within the whole range of air relative humidities. With the accuracy attained some indicator tubes compete with the classical and apparatus methods for sanitary-chemical control of the air in the working environment.

ABSTRACT

Silicagel with size of granules 0.315 - 0.400 mm was used for carrier of indicator reagents in tubes for hydrogen sulphide. A planned experiment was carried out, with the purpose of establishing the influence of seven factors on the qualities of the silicagel-carrier and the tubes. It was found that essential is indicator powder porosity and humidity. An optimal amount of water to be added to keep powder humidity was found. The influence of acid processing of the carrier was also studied. Acid treatment was shown to increase carrier adsorption capacity, which affected both the ability of the carrier to take in indicator reagents and tubes quality. It was shown that tubules, prepared on the basis of acid-nontreated, but only heated at 600 degrees C carrier, are of superior quality, so long as the requirements for indicator powder humidity have strictly been observed.
