ABSTRACT
La utilización de los adhesivos de cianocrilato se ha incrementando paulatinamente a partir de su descubrimiento en la década de los 50 (1957). Estos adhesivos son esencialmente inertes cuando secan, presentan efecto antimicrobiano contra organismos gram positivos. Como todo material novedoso, el uso de los adhesivos para sustituir la sutura requiere de un aprendizaje, así como de las técnicas que rigen su correcta manipulación. Un estudio observacional descriptivo transeccional y prospectivo se realizó en el período comprendido entre julio del 2005 y mayo del 2006, con el propósito de evaluar el cierre de heridas de la mucosa bucal y la piel como alternativa de tratamiento en los servicios de Estomatología General Integral. La muestra estuvo formada por 56 pacientes de diferentes sexos, con heridas de origen traumático y quirúrgico, que acudieron por consulta externa. Se obtuvo un predominio de las heridas de la mucosa bucal y la longitud fue menor de 2 cm, no se reportan pacientes con dehiscencia de la herida y eventos adversos, la totalidad de los pacientes estuvo conforme con el tratamiento recibido. Se concluye que el Tisuacryl es efectivo en el tratamiento de heridas de la mucosa bucal y la piel como alternativa de tratamiento en los servicios de Estomatología General Integral(AU)
The use of cyanoacrylate adhesives has been gradually increased since its discovery in the decade of the 50's (1957). These adhesives are essentially inert when dry, they present an antimicrobial effect against gram-positive organisms. Like all new material, the use of adhesives to replace suture requires to be learned, including the techniques that govern the proper handling of them. An observational, descriptive, transsectional and prospective study was caried out in the period between July 2005 and May 2006, with the purpose of evaluating the closure of wounds of the buccal mucosa and skin as a treatment alternative in the services of Integral General Estomatology. The sample was made up of 56 patients of different sex, with wounds of traumatic and surgical origin, that were assisted in external consultations. It was obtained a predominance of wounds of the buccal mucosa and the length was less than 2cm. Patients with wound dehiscence and adverse events are not reported, the totality of patients were conformed with the received treatment. It is concluded that Tisuacryl is effective in the treatment of wounds of the buccal mucosa and skin as alternative treatment in the services of Integral General Estomatology
