ABSTRACT

Indices of free-radical peroxidation have been estimated: intensity of lipid per- oxidation and protein oxidative modification of goat and cow milk of specific breeds of forest-steppe zone of Omsk region. The obtained results indicate that processes of lipid peroxidation and protein oxidative destruction in goat and cow milk of different breeds occur with different gradation. The content of carbonile derivatives in goat milk of Saan breed 1.4 (0.95; 1.5) u/ml was lower than in cow's milk of black-and-white breed 4.6 (1.1; 6.0) u/ml (p = 0.005) what could be caused by large content of protein thiol groups of this kind of milk and lower quantity of amino acid residues that are available for carbonylation. This kind of milk is characterized by higher SH-group content than cow milk for 31% and Switzerland goat milk for 20% (p = 0.005). The content of cetodiens and attached triens in isopropanol phase of the lipid extract of goat milk of Swiss breed is lower by 30% than in cow milk. In isopropanol phase of the milk lipid extracts contain- ing phospholipids the level of Schiff grounding did not differ. The results obtained prove that goat milk contain less protein subjected to oxidative modification.

ABSTRACT

The influence of prenatal alcohol intoxication on carbohydrate metabolism markers has been investigated at different terms of postnatal offspring development (15, 30 and 60 days). Plasma glucose decreased as compared with the same in control group was detected. In the liver homogenates an increase of phosphorylase activity and a decrease of glucose-6-phosphatase, aldolase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activities were found. These changes were accompanied by the incease in the lactate/pyruvate index attributed to increased lactate content in the liver tissue. The obtained data indicate essential disturbances of carbohydrate metabolism markers in prenatal alcoholized offspring, which include stable hypoglycemia, suppression of glycolytic and pentosephosphate pathways of glucose metabolism and lactate accumulation in the liver.

ABSTRACT

In the Omsk public medical Academy, the informational and technological support of laboratory medicine education at undergraduate and postgraduate stages required to organize the cooperation between the Russian Association of medical laboratory diagnostics and the Academy course of clinical diagnostics. The non-commercial interaction was organized between the Academy and the manufacturers and suppliers of laboratory diagnostic systems. This approach permitted to implement the cycle of scientific educational forums and to start the territorial program of quality management in laboratory research. The choice of the specialty "clinical laboratory diagnostics" as a prospective profession significantly increased among the Academy graduates. In addition, the Russian Association of medical laboratory diagnostics and the Omsk public medical Academy started a new joint project targeted to the support of laboratory diagnostics techniques training in concordance with the new public educational standard of higher professional education. Thereby, a specified model of joint resolution of actual issues is developed in the field of laboratory medicine education with coordinator collaboration of Russian Association of medical laboratory diagnostics as a professional non-government organization.

ABSTRACT

The research results of level glycemia, contents of free radical oxidation products (thiobarbiturate-reactive substances, oxidized-modified proteins) in blood plasma and heart of diabetes mellitus rats with chronic alcohol intoxication are presented. It is shown, that at presence of a diabetes mellitus the chronic alcohol consumption does not change blood plasma levels of the oxidized-modified proteins, thiobarbiturate-reactive substances and glucose. However the contents of thiobarbiturate-reactive substances and oxidizing modification of proteins products in animals heart is more considerably increased at combination of the diabetes with chronic alcohol consumption, in comparison with changes at the diabetes mellitus outside of alcoholization and with changes at the isolated chronic alcohol influence. Found out alcohol-induced free radical processes hyperactivation in heart at the diabetes is capable to render additional injuring influence.

ABSTRACT

Hyrdogen peroxide induced chemiluminescence, thiobarbituric acid (TBA) reactive products and antioxidant activity were analyzed in blood serum of alcohol abusers with diabetes mellitus type 2. The chemiluminescence and TBA-tests were significantly higher in these patients whereas antioxidant activity remained uncharged compared with healthy volunteers and diabetic patients without alcohol background.

ABSTRACT

Connective tissue dysplasia is a systemic process that modifies the clinical picture and course of an acquired pathology. To search additional criteria for differential diagnosis, connective tissue metabolic parameters were studied in patients with infiltrative pulmonary tuberculosis and nosocomial pneumonia. A significant excess of the parameters of free urinary oxyproline and serum glycosaminoglycans was found in patients with infiltrative pulmonary tuberculosis.
