ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: There has not been a consensus on the prothesis sizing strategy in type 0 bicuspid aortic stenosis (AS) patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Modifications to standard annular sizing strategies might be required due to the distinct anatomical characteristics. We have devised a downsizing strategy for TAVR using a self-expanding valve specifically for patients with type 0 bicuspid AS. The primary aim of this study is to compare the safety and efficacy of downsizing strategy with the Standard Annulus Sizing Strategy in TAVR for patients with type 0 bicuspid AS. TRIAL DESIGN: It is a prospective, multi-center, superiority, single-blinded, randomized controlled trial comparing the Down Sizing and Standard Annulus Sizing Strategy in patients with type 0 bicuspid aortic stenosis undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement. Eligible participants will include patients with severe type 0 bicuspid AS, as defined by criteria such as mean gradient across aortic valve ≥40 mmHg, peak aortic jet velocity ≥4.0 m/s, aortic valve area (AVA) ≤1.0 cm², or AVA index ≤0.6 cm2/m2. These patients will be randomly assigned, in a 1:1 ratio, to either the Down Sizing Strategy group or the Standard Sizing Strategy group. In the Down Sizing Strategy group, a valve one size smaller will be implanted if the "waist sign" manifests along with less than mild regurgitation during balloon pre-dilatation. The primary end point of the study is a composite of VARC-3 defined device success, absence of both permanent pacemaker implantation due to high-degree atrioventricular block and new-onset complete left bundle branch block. CONCLUSION: This study will compare the safety and efficacy of Down Sizing Strategy with the Standard Annulus Sizing Strategy and provide valuable insights into the optimal approach for sizing in TAVR patients with type 0 bicuspid AS. We hypothesize that the Down Sizing Strategy will demonstrate superiority when compared to the Standard Annulus Sizing Strategy. ABSTRACT

The incidence of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) has been steadily increasing each year, posing significant challenges in its treatment. In this study, we conducted the design and synthesis of 23 new inhibitors that specifically target the TGF-ß1/Smad3 pathway. Initially, we employed a cell model of TGF-ß-induced pulmonary fibrosis, using cell survival rate and HYP expression as indicators to identify the potent ingredient 5aa, which demonstrated significant anti-pulmonary fibrosis activity. Subsequently, we induced mice with bleomycin (BLM) to establish an experimental animal model of pulmonary fibrosis, and evaluated the pharmacodynamics of 5aa in vivo against pulmonary fibrosis. The alterations in HYP and collagen levels in BLM-induced pulmonary fibrosis mice were analyzed using ELISA and immunohistochemistry techniques. The results indicated that compound 5aa effectively suppressed the fibrotic response induced by TGF-ß1, inhibited the expression of the fibrotic marker α-SMA, and hindered the EMT process in NIH3T3 cells. Additionally, oral administration of 5aa demonstrated significant therapeutic effects in a mouse model of IPF, comparable to the established drug Nintedanib. Moreover, compound 5aa exhibited higher bioavailability in vivo compared to Nintedanib. These collective outcomes suggest that 5aa holds promise as a potential inhibitor of TGF-ß1/Smad3 signaling for the treatment of IPF.

ABSTRACT

A specific strain of Vibrio parahaemolyticus (VpAHPND) causes acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND), leading to significant losses in shrimp aquaculture. Outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) are naturally secreted by Gram-negative bacteria, and their significant roles in host-pathogen interactions and pathogenicity have been recognized. In the present study, OMVs were isolated from VpAHPND by differential-ultracentrifugation and used for proteomics analysis. In the Nano-HPLC-MS/MS analysis, totally 645 proteins were determined, including virulence factors, immunogenic proteins, outer membrane protein, bacterial secretory proteins, ribosomal proteins, protease, and iron regulation proteins. Furthermore, GO and KEGG annotations indicated that proteins identified in VpAHPND-OMVs are involved in metabolism, regulation of multiple biological processes, genetic information processes, immunity and more. Meanwhile, toxin proteins PirAvp and PirBvp, associated with VpAHPND pathogenicity, were also identified in the proteome of VpAHPND-OMVs. Our objective is to identify the protein composition of OMVs released by VpAHPND, analyzing the potential for cytotoxicity and immunomodulatory activity of these granule hosts. This study is crucial for understanding the roles played by bacterial-derived vesicles in the disease process, given that these vesicles carry relevant activities inherent to the bacteria that produce them.

ABSTRACT

As a famous prescription in China, AnGong NiuHuang (AGNH) pill exerts good neuroprotection for ischaemic stroke (IS), but its mechanism is still unclear. In this study, the neuroprotection of AGNH was evaluated in the rat IS model which were established with the surgery of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO), and the potential mechanism was elucidated by transcriptomic analysis and metabolomic analysis. AGNH treatment obviously decreased the infarct volume and Zea-Longa 5-point neurological deficit scores, improved the survival percentage of rats, regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF), and rat activity distance and activity time. Transcriptomics showed that AGNH exerted its anti-inflammatory effects by affecting the regulatory network including Tyrobp, Syk, Tlr2, Myd88 and Ccl2 as the core. Integrating transcriptomics and metabolomics identified 8 key metabolites regulated by AGNH, including L-histidine, L-serine, L-alanine, fumaric acid, malic acid, and N-(L-arginino) succinate, 1-pyrroline-4-hydroxy-2-carboxylate and 1-methylhistamine in the rats with IS. Additionally, AGNH obviously reduced Tyrobp, Syk, Tlr2, Myd88 and Ccl2 at both the mRNA and protein levels, decreased IL-1ß, KC-GRO, IL-13, TNF-α, cleaved caspase 3 and p65 nucleus translocation, but increased IκBα expression. Network pharmacology analysis showed that quercetin, beta-sitosterol, baicalein, naringenin, acacetin, berberine and palmatine may play an important role in protecting against IS. Taken together, this study reveals that AGNH reduced neuroinflammation and protected against IS by inhibiting Tyrobp/Syk and Tlr2/Myd88, as well as NF-κB signalling pathway and regulating multiple metabolites.

ABSTRACT

The formula of food for special medical purpose has a direct impact on physicochemical stability, especially in hot climes and high temperature transport storage environments. An accelerated test (50 °C for 7 weeks) was used to analyze the mechanism of the physicochemical instability of formula A with lactose and maltodextrin, and formula B with maltodextrin. Deep dents and wrinkles were observed on the surface of the formula B, and more fat globules covered the surface of formula A particles after storage for a long time. Significantly higher amounts of furosine and Nε-carboxymethl-l-lysine (CML) were formed and the loss of available lysine was greater in formula A than in formula B. No significant difference was observed in lipid oxidation indicators between the two formulas. The results of this research demonstrated lactose was more active than maltodextrin and led to physicochemical instability.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: This study aims to evaluate limited data about daily physical activity patterns, influential factors, and their association with 1-year mortality or rehospitalization after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) through smartwatches. METHODS: Consecutive severe aortic stenosis patients undergoing elective transfemoral TAVR in a Chinese tertiary hospital were enrolled from July 2021 to May 2022 and received a Huawei smartwatch at least 1 day before TAVR. The primary outcome was a composite of all-cause mortality or hospital readmission within 1 year. Linear mixed-effects models were applied to determine influential factors of daily step counts, and Cox proportional hazard regression models were to estimate the association between baseline step counts within 1 month since discharge and composite outcome from months 2 to 12. The dose-response association was assessed using restricted cubic spline curves. RESULTS: A total of 222 participants and 59 469 valid monitoring person-day records were included (mean age, 72.7 years; 61% women). Step counts increased rapidly within the first 2 months (P<0.001), followed by a slower increase for those without composite outcomes (P=0.029) and a gradual decrease for those who developed composite outcomes (P<0.001). In multivariate linear mixed models, a 1-m increase in baseline 6-minute walk test and a 1-month delay after discharge were associated with 4 (95% CI, 1-7) and 170 (95% CI, 145-194) additional step counts, respectively. In restricted cubic spline analysis, the hazard ratio declined progressively until ≈5000 steps per day, after which they leveled. Below 5000 steps, the adjusted hazard ratio of composite outcome associated with each 1000-step count increase was 0.67 (0.50-0.89; P=0.007). However, above 5000 steps, step counts were not significantly associated with the composite outcome (P=0.645), with a hazard ratio of 1.12 (0.70-1.79). CONCLUSIONS: Daily step counts rapidly increased within the first 2 months post-TAVR. Increased physical activity was associated with a lower risk of 1-year mortality or rehospitalization after TAVR for patients with daily step counts below 5000. ABSTRACT

Objective: Acupuncture has certain effects to improve myopia visual function, but its neural mechanism is unclear. In this study, we acupunctured at the right Taiyang acupoint of myopic patients to analyze the effects of acupuncture on visual function and electroencephalographic activity and to investigate the correlation between improvements in visual function and changes in the brain. Methods: In this study, a total of 21 myopic patients were recruited. The contrast sensitivity (CS) of the subjects was examined before and after acupuncture, and electroencephalography (EEG) data of the entire acupuncture process were recorded. Results: The study found that compared with before acupuncture, the CS of both eyes in myopic patients at each spatial frequency was increased after acupuncture; compared with the resting state, the contribution of microstate C was decreased during the post-acupuncture state, and the transition probability between microstate A and microstate C was reduced; in addition, the contribution of microstate C was negatively correlated with CS at both 12 and 18 cpd. Conclusion: The contrast sensitivity of myopic patients was improved after acupuncture at the Taiyang acupoint (20 min), which may be related to microstate C.

Considering the surgical risk stratification for patients with severe calcific aortic stenosis (AS), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is a reliable alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) (Fan et al., 2020, 2021; Lee et al., 2021). Despite the favorable clinical benefits of TAVR, stroke remains a dreaded perioperative complication (Auffret et al., 2016; Kapadia et al., 2016; Kleiman et al., 2016; Huded et al., 2019). Ischemic overt stroke, identified in 1.4% to 4.3% of patients in TAVR clinical practice, has been associated with prolonged disability and increased mortality (Auffret et al., 2016; Kapadia et al., 2016; Levi et al., 2022). The prevalence of hyperintensity cerebral ischemic lesions detected by diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) was reported to be about 80%, which is associated with impaired neurocognitive function and vascular dementia (Vermeer et al., 2003; Barber et al., 2008; Kahlert et al., 2010).

ABSTRACT

Dengzhan Shengmai (DZSM), a traditional Chinese medicine formulation, has been administered extensively to elderly individuals with cognitive impairment (CI). However, the underlying mechanisms by which Dengzhan Shengmai improves cognitive impairment remains unknown. This study aimed to elucidate the underlying mechanism of the effect of Dengzhan Shengmai on aging-associated cognitive impairment via a comprehensive combination of transcriptomics and microbiota assessment. Dengzhan Shengmai was orally administered to a D-galactose-induced aging mouse model, and evaluation with an open field task (OFT), Morris water maze (MWM), and histopathological staining was performed. Transcriptomics and 16S rDNA sequencing were applied to elucidate the mechanism of Dengzhan Shengmai in alleviating cognitive deficits, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and immunofluorescence were employed to verify the results. The results first confirmed the therapeutic effects of Dengzhan Shengmai against cognitive defects; specifically, Dengzhan Shengmai improved learning and impairment, suppressed neuro loss, and increased Nissl body morphology repair. Comprehensive integrated transcriptomics and microbiota analysis indicated that chemokine CXC motif receptor 4 (CXCR4) and its ligand CXC chemokine ligand 12 (CXCL12) were targets for improving cognitive impairments with Dengzhan Shengmai and also indirectly suppressed the intestinal flora composition. Furthermore, in vivo results confirmed that Dengzhan Shengmai suppressed the expression of CXC motif receptor 4, CXC chemokine ligand 12, and inflammatory cytokines. This suggested that Dengzhan Shengmai inhibited CXC chemokine ligand 12/CXC motif receptor 4 expression and modulated intestinal microbiome composition by influencing inflammatory factors. Thus, Dengzhan Shengmai improves aging-related cognitive impairment effects via decreased CXC chemokine ligand 12/CXC motif receptor 4 and inflammatory factor modulation to improve gut microbiota composition.

ABSTRACT

This study prepares composite panels with three Polylactic acid (PLA)-based materials via the multi-material fused filament fabrication method. The influences of four processing parameters on the mechanical properties of 3D-printed samples are investigated employing the Taguchi method. These parameters include the relative volume ratio, material printing order, filling pattern, and filling density. A "larger is better" signal-to-noise analysis is performed to identify the optimal combination of printing parameters that yield maximum bending strength and bending modulus of elasticity. The results reveal that the optimal combination of printing parameters that maximizes the bending strength involves a volume ratio of 1:1:2, a material sequence of PLA/foam-agent-modified eco-friendly PLA (ePLA-LW)/glass fiber-reinforced eco-friendly PLA (ePLA-GF), a Gyroid filling pattern, and a filling density of 80%, and the optimal combination of printing parameters for maximum bending modulus involves a volume ratio of 1:2:1 with a material sequence of PLA/ePLA-LW/ePLA-GF, a Grid filling pattern, and 80% filling density. The Taguchi prediction method is utilized to determine an optimal combination of processing parameters for achieving optimal flexural performances, and predicted outcomes are validated through related experiments. The experimental values of strength and modulus are 43.91 MPa and 1.23 GPa, respectively, both very close to the predicted values of 46.87 MPa and 1.2 GPa for strength and modulus. The Taguchi experiments indicate that the material sequence is the most crucial factor influencing the flexural strength of the composite panels. The experiment result demonstrates that the flexural strength and modulus of the first material sequence are 67.72 MPa and 1.53 GPa, while the flexural strength and modulus of the third material sequence are reduced to 27.09 MPa and 0.72 GPa, respectively, only 42% and 47% of the first material sequence. The above findings provide an important reference for improving the performance of multi-material 3D-printed products.

Milk contaminated with trace amounts of foodborne pathogens can considerably threaten food safety and public health. Therefore, rapid and accurate detection techniques for foodborne pathogens in milk are essential. Nucleic acid amplification (NAA)-based strategies are widely used to detect foodborne pathogens in milk. This review article covers the mechanisms of the NAA-based detection of foodborne pathogens in milk, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR), loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP), recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA), rolling circle amplification (RCA), and enzyme-free amplification, among others. Key factors affecting detection efficiency and the advantages and disadvantages of the above techniques are analyzed. Potential on-site detection tools based on NAA are outlined. We found that NAA-based strategies were effective in detecting foodborne pathogens in milk. Among them, PCR was the most reliable. LAMP showed high specificity, whereas RPA and RCA were most suitable for on-site and in-situ detection, respectively, and enzyme-free amplification was more economical. However, factors such as sample separation, nucleic acid target conversion, and signal transduction affected efficiency of NAA-based strategies. The lack of simple and effective sample separation methods to reduce the effect of milk matrices on detection efficiency was noteworthy. Further research should focus on simplifying, integrating, and miniaturizing microfluidic on-site detection platforms.

Exosomes are extracellular vesicles secreted by diverse cell under normal or abnormal physiological conditions, which could carry a range of bioactive molecules and play significant roles in biological processes, such as intercellular communication and immune response. In the current study, a preliminary study was performed to investigate the exosomal shuttle protein in Chlamys farreri (designated as CfesPro) and to predict the potential function of exosomes in scallop innate immunity. The serum derived exosomes (designated as CfEVs) were obtained from lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated C. farreri and untreated ones. After confirmation and characterization by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), nano-HPLC-MS/MS spectrometry was performed on CfEVs using a label-free quantitative method. Totally 2481 exosomal shuttle proteins were identified in CfEVs proteomic data, which included many innate immune related proteins. GO and KOG functional annotation showed that CfesPro participated in cellular processes, metabolism reactions, signaling transductions, immune responses and so on. Moreover, 1421 proteins in CfesPro were enriched to 324 pathways by KEGG analysis, including several immune-related pathways, such as autophagy, apoptosis and lysosome pathway. Meanwhile, eight autophagy-related proteins were initially identified in CfesPro, indicating that CfEVs had a potential role with autophagy. All these findings showed that CfEVs were involved in C. farreri innate immune defenses. This research would enrich the protein database of marine exosomes and provide a basis for the exploration of immune defense systems in marine invertebrates.

ABSTRACT

Amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) is an intriguing mineral phase of calcium phosphate in its own right, in addition to its relevance in biomineralization. We hereby demonstrate that ACPs prepared by different synthetic routes such as the crosslinking of inorganic oligomers and polymer-induced liquid precursors have distinctive relative compositions of orthophosphate and hydrogen phosphate, and the extent of their hydrogen bonding with water. For all the ACPs or ACP-derived materials studied in this work, the species of hydrogen phosphate is the most important structural element. Depending on the synthetic pathways, orthophosphate and water, as well as their associated hydrogen bonds, may also play a role in the structural formation of ACPs.

Background: Decreased length of stay in the index hospitalization is a tendency in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) era. In this study, we aim to evaluate the feasibility and safety of next-day discharge (NDD) in bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) patients following TAVR. Methods: The study analyzed patients who received TAVR in 2019 to 2022. Thirty-day mortality and readmission rate were compared between BAV and tricuspid aortic valve (TAV) patients. Results: The proportion of NDD was similar between the BAV and TAV group (45.3 % vs 41.3 %, p = 0.487). In NDD patients, the lower age (72.0 [67.0, 77.0] yrs vs 74.0 [70.0, 80.0] yrs, p = 0.011) and STS score (2.33 [1.56, 3.54] % vs 3.82 [2.38, 5.70] %, p < 0.001) were observed in the BAV group. The NDD BAV patients had higher proportion of post-dilatation (74.3 % vs 50.7 %, p = 0.003) when compared with the TAV patients. The NDD patients was safe with no death both in BAV and TAV patients at 30-day follow-up. Moreover, the readmission rate was comparable between BAV and TAV patients who discharged on the next day after TAVR (8.1 % vs 14.0 %, p = 0.397). Conclusions: NDD after TAVR was feasible and safe in both BAV and TAV patients. The younger BAV patients with fast recovery deserve the next-day discharge after TAVR.

This study aimed to understand cold stress adaptations mechanism in fish. Thus, the transcriptional response to cold conditions in Gymnocypris eckloni was evaluated using RNA-seq and microRNA (miRNA)-seq analyses. Low-temperature (LT) group G. eckloni was cultivated outdoors in waters cooled to 2-4°C for 3 weeks, while individuals in the control temperature (CT) group were exposed to 14-16°C. Significantly different responses were observed in both mRNA and miRNA expression profiles, with more mRNAs (1,833 and 1,869 mRNAs were up- and downregulated, respectively) and fewer miRNAs (15 and 6 were up- and downregulated, respectively) observed in the LT group individuals relative to the CT group individuals. A miRNA-mRNA network involved in the regulation of G. eckloni responses to cold stress was constructed; this network included ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis, protein processing, and oxidative phosphorylation. These results provided new insights into mechanisms of cold tolerance by fish, including decreased metabolic activity in addition to proteolysis.

Background: Coronary occlusion is an uncommon but fatal complication of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) with a poor prognosis. Case Presentation: A patient with symptomatic severe bicuspid aortic valve stenosis was admitted to a high-volume center specializing in transfemoral TAVR with self-expanding valves. No anatomical risk factors of coronary occlusion were identified on pre-procedural computed tomography analysis. The patient was scheduled for a transfemoral TAVR with a self-expanding valve. Balloon pre-dilatation prior to prosthesis implantation was routinely used for assessing the supra-annular structure and assessing the risk of coronary occlusion. Immediately after the tubular balloon inflation, fluoroscopy revealed that the right coronary artery was not visible, and the flow in the left coronary artery was reduced. The patient would be at high-risk of coronary occlusion if a long stent self-expanding valve was implanted. Therefore, our heart team decided to suspend the ongoing procedure. A transapical TAVR with a 23 mm J-valve was performed 3 days later. The prosthesis was deployed at a proper position without blocking the coronary ostia and the final fluoroscopy showed normal flow in bilateral coronary arteries with the same filling as preoperatively. Discussion: Our successful case highlights the importance of a comprehensive assessment of coronary risk and a thorough understanding of the TAVR procedure for the heart team. A short-stent prosthesis is feasible for patients at high risk of coronary occlusion. Most importantly TAVR should be called off even if the catheter has been introduced when an extremely high risk of coronary obstruction is identified during the procedure and no solution can be found.

ABSTRACT

Gymnocypris eckloni is widely distributed in isolated lakes and the upper reaches of the Yellow River and play significant roles in the trophic web of freshwater communities. In this study, we generated a chromosome-level genome of G. eckloni using PacBio, Illumina and Hi-C sequencing data. The genome consists of 23 pseudo-chromosomes that contain 918.68 Mb of sequence, with a scaffold N50 length of 43.54 Mb. In total, 23,157 genes were annotated, representing 94.80% of the total predicted protein-coding genes. The phylogenetic analysis showed that G. eckloni was most closely related to C. carpio with an estimated divergence time of ~34.8 million years ago. For G. eckloni, we identified a high-quality genome at the chromosome level. This genome will serve as a valuable genomic resource for future research on the evolution and ecology of the schizothoracine fish in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.

ABSTRACT

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has emerged as a viable treatment option for patients with severe aortic stenosis regardless of its surgical risk stratification (Otto et al., 2021). Aortic angulation is usually measured as the angle between the horizontal and the aortic annulus planes based on preproced|ural multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) (Al-Lamee et al., 2011). Extremely horizontal aorta, defined as an aortic angulation greater than 70°, is an unfavorable anatomic structure that poses particular technical challenges for TAVR. Abramowitz et al. (2016) have proved that an extremely horizontal aorta increased the risk of procedural complications, such as lower device success rates, more moderate or even severe perivalvular leakage (PVL), and the need for second valve implantation. Because of the long stent frame, inflexibility, and non-steerability, it is challenging to pass the delivery system of self-expanding valves (SEVs) through an extremely horizontal aorta. As a result, patients with an extremely horizontal aorta have always been excluded from the clinical trials of TAVR, and transfemoral (TF)-TAVR with SEV is considered as an "off-label" use of TAVR (Adams et al., 2014; Kaneko et al., 2020). Herein, we present a technically difficult case, in which a patient with an extremely horizontal aorta underwent TF-TAVR with SEV by applying a unique apical-to-femoral rail strategy.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Unlike N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), which have been extensively studied, little is known about the role of N-terminal pro-C-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proCNP) for predicting survival post transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). METHODS: A total of 309 patients were included in the analysis. Patients were grouped into quartiles (Q1-4) according to the baseline NT-proCNP value. Blood for NT-proCNP analysis was obtained prior to TAVR procedure. The primary endpoint was mortality after a median follow-up of 32 months. Multivariable Cox proportional hazards regression models analyzed prognostic factors. The predictive capability was compared between NT-proBNP and NT-proCNP using receiver operator curve (ROC) analysis. RESULTS: A total of 309 subjects with the mean age of 76.8 ± 6.3 years, among whom 58.6% were male, were included in the analysis. A total of 58 (18.8%) patients died during follow-up. Cox multivariable analyses indicated society of thoracic surgeons (STS)-score was a strong independent predictor for mortality (hazard ratio (HR) 1.08, 95% confidential interval (CI) 1.05-1.12, P < 0.001). Elevated NT-proCNP was associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular mortality (HR 1.02, 95% CI 1.00-1.03, P = 0.025) and All-cause mortality (HR 1.01, 95% CI 1.00-1.03, P = 0.027), whereas NT-proBNP showed a small effect size on mortality. ROC analysis indicated that NT-proCNP was superior to NT-proBNP for TAVR risk evaluation in patients with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) < 50% [(Area under the curve (AUC)-values of 0.79 (0.69; 0.87) vs. 0.59 (0.48; 0.69), P = 0.0453]. CONCLUSIONS: NT-proCNP and STS-Score were the independent prognostic factors of mortality among TAVR patients. Furthermore, NT-proCNP was superior to NT-proBNP for TAVR risk evaluation in patients with LVEF < 50%. Trial registration NCT02803294, 16/06/2016.
