ABSTRACT

Molecular materials possessing switchable magneto-optical properties are of great interest due to their potential applications in spintronics and molecular devices. However, switching their photoluminescence (PL) and single-molecule magnet (SMM) behavior via light-induced structural changes still constitutes a formidable challenge. Here, a series of cubane structures were synthesized via self-assembly of 9-anthracene carboxylic acid (HAC) and rare-earth ions. All complexes exhibited obvious photochromic phenomena and complete PL quenching upon Xe lamp irradiation, which were realized via the synergistic effect of photogenerated radicals and [4 + 4] photocycloaddition of the AC components. The quenched PL showed the largest fluorescence intensity change (99.72%) in electron-transfer photochromic materials. A reversible decoloration process was realized via mechanical grinding, which is unexpectedly in the electron-transfer photochromic materials. Importantly, an SMM behavior of the Dy analog was observed after room-temperature irradiation due to the photocycloaddition of AC ligands and the photogenerated stable radicals changed the electrostatic ligand field and magnetic coupling. Moreover, based on the remarkably photochromic and photoluminescent properties of these compounds, 2 demos were applied to support their application in information anti-counterfeiting and inkless printing. This work, for the first time utilizing the simultaneous modulation of photocycloaddition and photogenerated radicals in one system, realizes complete PL quenching and light-induced SMM behavior, providing a dynamical switch for the construction of multifunctional polymorphic materials with optical response and optical storage devices.

ABSTRACT

Rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) is reproduced by bud grafting for commercial planting, but significant intraclonal variations exist in bud-grafted clones. DNA methylation changes related to grafting may be partly responsible for intraclonal variations. In the current study, whole-genome DNA methylation profiles of grafted rubber tree plants (GPs) and their donor plants (DPs) were evaluated by whole-genome bisulfite sequencing. Data showed that DNA methylation was downregulated and DNA methylations in CG, CHG, and CHH sequences were reprogrammed in GPs, suggesting that grafting induced the reprogramming of DNA methylation. A total of 5,939 differentially methylated genes (DMGs) were identified by comparing fractional methylation levels between GPs and DPs. Transcriptional analysis revealed that there were 9,798 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the DP and GP comparison. A total of 1,698 overlapping genes between DEGs and DMGs were identified. These overlapping genes were markedly enriched in the metabolic pathway and biosynthesis of secondary metabolites by Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis. Global DNA methylation and transcriptional analyses revealed that reprogramming of DNA methylation is correlated with gene expression in grafted rubber trees. The study provides a whole-genome methylome of rubber trees and an insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying the intraclonal variations existing in the commercial planting of grafted rubber trees.

BACKGROUND: Foreign bodies (FBs) are a common emergency in medical institutions, that can occur in any area and among people of any age, which are common public health problems. Understanding the epidemiological characteristics of FBs is crucial for their prevention and control. The purpose of this study was to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of FBs worldwide through the data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 (GBD 2019). METHODS: We obtained data from the GBD 2019, which is an important public database to understand the disease burden of FBs. Joinpoint was used to analyze temporal trends in the incidence and death trends of FBs, which is widely used to study the long-term temporal trend of the burden of diseases. SaTScan was used to detect spatial-temporal clusters of pulmonary aspiration and foreign body in the airway (PAFBA), which is based on a Poisson model, scanning the number of people and diseases in the study area to obtain the spatial-temporal clusters of diseases. RESULTS: Globally, the age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) and the age-standardized death rate (ASDR) of FBs in 2019 were 869.23/100,000 (679.92/100,000-1120.69/100,000) and 1.55/100,000 (1.41/100,000-1.67/100,000), respectively. The ASIR and ASDR showed downtrends with average annual percent changes (AAPCs) of -0.31% and - 1.47% from 1990 to 2019. Of note, the ASIR showed an uptrend during 2010-2019, especially in high, high-middle, and middle SDI regions. Stratified analysis by age group showed that ASIR increased in each age group in recent years. From 1990 to 2019, the ASDR in the over-70 age group showed an uptrend worldwide, especially in high and high-middle SDI regions. In different types of FBs, the ASDR of PAFBA was the highest. The death burden of PAFBA was mainly clustered in 82 countries during 1993-2007, such as Canada, Cuba, and Mexico. CONCLUSION: The most important goal is to improve public awareness and emergency knowledge of FBs through publicity methods, such as the internet or offline activities, and to improve laws and regulations. Additionally, different age groups need different targeted measures, such as strengthening the care of children, caring for elderly individuals, improving necessary monitoring programs and reporting systems, conducting effective hazard assessments, and publicity and education activities.

ABSTRACT

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in food animals is a growing threat to animal health and potentially to human health. In resource-limited settings, allocating resources to address AMR can be guided with maps. Here, we mapped AMR prevalence in 7 antimicrobials in Escherichia coli and nontyphoidal Salmonella species across low- and middle-income countries (LIMCs), using 1088 point-prevalence surveys in combination with a geospatial model. Hotspots of AMR were predicted in China, India, Brazil, Chile, and part of central Asia and southeastern Africa. The highest resistance prevalence was for tetracycline (59% for E. coli and 54% for nontyphoidal Salmonella, average across LMICs) and lowest for cefotaxime (33% and 19%). We also identified the antimicrobial with the highest probability of resistance exceeding critical levels (50%) in the future (1.7-12.4 years) for each 10 × 10 km pixel on the map. In Africa and South America, 78% locations were associated with penicillins or tetracyclines crossing 50% resistance in the future. In contrast, in Asia, 77% locations were associated with penicillins or sulphonamides. Our maps highlight diverging geographic trends of AMR prevalence across antimicrobial classes, and can be used to target AMR surveillance in AMR hotspots for priority antimicrobial classes.

ABSTRACT

Löfgren syndrome (LS) is a unique acute manifestation of sarcoidosis and characterized by erythema nodosum, bilateral hilar lymphadenectasis, and/or bilateral ankle arthritis or periarthritis. A 37 - year - old female patient with LS presented with fever accompanied by multiple joint swelling and pain, nodular skin erythema, and bilateral hilar lymphadenectasis. The patient had received treatment involving non - steroidal anti - inflammatory drugs and glucocorticoids in other hospitals, but the effects were poor, and the conditions reemerged. The LS duration has lasted for more than 3 months. Following traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment, syndrome differentiation as well as giving patients oral Chinese medicine decoction, the symptoms of the patient were rapidly relieved within one week and did not recur during a six - month follow - up period. This case is the first clinical report of acute sarcoidosis LS treated using T CM and reflects the significant advantages of this form of therapy in emergency treatment


El síndrome de Löfgren (LS) es una manifest ación única y aguda de sarcoidosis, caracterizada por eritrema nodoso, linfadenectasis hilar bilateral, y/o a r tritis de tobillo bilateral o periartritis. Una paciente de 37 años de sexo femenino con LS se presentó con fiebre, acompañada de inflamación y do lor múltiple de articulaciones, eritrema nodular cutáneo, y linfadenectasis hilar bilateral. La paciente recibió un tratamiento que consistió en antiinflamatorios no esteroidales y glucocorticoides en otros hospitales, pero los efectos fueron leves y las c ondiciones reemergieron. El LS ha durado más de tres meses. Siguiendo el tratamiento de medicina tradicional china (MTC), la diferenciación de síndrome, así como darles a los pacientes una decocción de medicina china por vía oral, los síntomas de la pacien te rápidamente fueron aliviados en el curso de una semana y no recidivaron durante los seis meses de un seguimiento. El caso es el primer reporte clínico de tratamiento de sarcoidosis aguda asociada a LS usando TCM y refleja las significativas ventajas de esta forma de terapia en el tratamiento de emergencia.

BACKGROUND: Rice is one of the most consumed cereals in the world. Productivity losses are caused by different biotic stresses. One of the most common is the phytophagous mite Schizotetranychus oryzae Rossi de Simons (Acari: Tetranychidae), which inhibits plant development and seed production. The identification of plant defense proteins is important for a better understanding of the mite-plant interaction. We previously detected a high expression of Osmotin1 protein in mite-resistant rice cultivars, under infested conditions, suggesting it could be involved in plant defense against mite attack. We therefore aimed to evaluate the responses of three rice lines overexpressing Osmotin1 (OSM1-OE) and three lines lacking the Osmotin1 gene (osm1-ko) to mite attack. RESULTS: The numbers of individuals (adults, immature stages, and eggs) were significantly lower in OSM1-OE lines than those in wild-type (WT) plants. On the other hand, the osm1-ko lines showed larger numbers of mites per leaf than WT plants. When plants reached the full maturity stage, two out of the three infested OSM1-OE lines presented lower plant height than WT, while the three osm1-ko lines (infested or not) presented higher plant height than WT. The reduction in seed number caused by mite infestation was lower in OSM1-OE lines (12-19%) than in WT plants (34%), while osm1-ko lines presented higher reduction (24-54%) in seed number than WT plants (13%). CONCLUSION: These data suggest that Osmotin1 is involved in rice resistance to S. oryzae infestation. This is the first work showing increased plant resistance to herbivory overexpressing an Osmotin gene. © 2023 Society of Chemical Industry.

INTRODUCTION: Seed-based analysis has shown that transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) can modulate the dysfunctional brain network in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). However, the voxel-based neuropsychological mechanism of taVNS on patients with first-episode MDD is poorly understood. The objective of this study was to assess the effects of an 8-week course of taVNS on patients with first-episode MDD. METHODS: Twenty-two patients with first-episode MDD accepted an 8-week course of taVNS treatment. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) scans were performed before and after treatment. Voxel-based analyses were performed to characterize spontaneous brain activity. Healthy controls (n=23) were recruited to minimize test-retest effects. Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was performed to ascertain treatment-related changes. Then, correlations between changes in brain activity and the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D)/Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAM-A) remission rate were estimated. RESULTS: Significant group-by-time interactions on voxel-based analyses were observed in the inferior ventral striatum (VSi) and precuneus. Post-hoc analyses showed that taVNS inhibited higher brain activity in the VSi, while upregulating it in the precuneus. Functional connectivity (FC) between the VSi and precuneus decreased. Positive correlations were found between the HAM-D remission rate and changes in brain activity in the VSi. CONCLUSION: taVNS reduced the FC between VSi and precuneus by normalizing the abnormal spontaneous brain activity of VSi in first-episode MDD patients.

Due to its high nutritional value, broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica Plenck) is one of the most popular vegetables worldwide. This study assessed 36 phenotypic characteristics of 111 broccoli varieties to understand the phenotypic diversity of new broccoli varieties and improve their breeding speed with advantages and characteristics in China, including 108 new varieties and three varieties of common knowledge. The genetic diversity, the principal component, and the cluster of phenotypic characteristics of broccoli varieties were further investigated. The results showed that the coefficients of variation of 36 characteristics ranged between 11.18 % and 94.99 %, with their diversity index between 0.26 and 1.82. The 111 broccoli varieties were further classified into eight groups, primarily attributed to the differences in phenotypic characteristics, including curd weight, main stem thickness, plant development degree, plant height, and anthocyanin coloration. The cumulative contribution rate of the first five principal components reached 81.186 %, corresponding to 12 representative phenotypic traits. The analysis indicated that the phenotypic characteristics of broccoli were rich in diversity, especially for several characteristics appreciated by the market, such as weight, curd firmness, and anthocyanin coloration. This study revealed the basic information on the genetic diversity of new broccoli varieties in China from 2017 to 2019 and provided potential breeding strategies for broccoli to meet diverse market demands.

Regulatory T cells (Tregs) play critical roles in restricting inflammatory pathogenesis and limiting undesirable Th2 response to environmental allergens. However, the role of miR-181a in regulating acute gouty arthritis (AGA) and Treg function remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the potential roles of miR-181a in Treg immunity and the associated signaling pathway in the AGA mouse model. A solution with monosodium urate (MSU) crystals was injected into the joint tissue of mice to induce AGA. ELISA was used to examine inflammatory factors in blood samples, and flow cytometry was used to analyze Treg profile in mice with MSU-induced AGA. Cell proliferation and viability were assessed by CCK-8 assay. TGF-ß1/Smad signaling activation was detected by western blot. We found that miR-181a expression showed a positive correlation with the changes of splenic Tregs percentage in AGA mice. miR-181a regulated the TGF-ß1/Smad axis, since the transfection of miR-181a mimic increased the level of TGF-ß1 and the phosphorylation of Smad2/3 in Tregs in AGA mice. Additionally, miR-181a mimic also promoted responses of Tregs via TGF-ß1 in vitro and in vivo. Our work uncovered a vital role of miR-181a in the immune function of Treg cells by mediating the activity of the TGF-ß1/Smad pathway in the AGA mouse model induced by MSU.

ABSTRACT

It is a great challenging task for selectivity control of both CO2 photoreduction and water splitting to produce syngas via precise microenvironment regulation. Herein, a series of UiO-type Eu-MOFs (Eu-bpdc, Eu-bpydc, Rux-Eu-bpdc, and Rux-Eu-bpydc) with different surrounding confined spaces were designed and synthesized. These photosensitizing Rux-Eu-MOFs were used as the molecular platform to encapsulate the [CoII4(dpy{OH}O)4(OAc)2(H2O)2]2+ (Co4) cubane cluster for constructing Co4@Rux-Eu-MOF (x = 0.1, 0.2, and 0.4) heterogeneous photocatalysts for efficient CO2 photoreduction and water splitting. The H2 and CO yields can reach 446.6 and 459.8 µmol·g-1, respectively, in 10 h with Co4@Ru0.1-Eu-bpdc as the catalyst, and their total yield can be dramatically improved to 2500 µmol·g-1 with the ratio of CO/H2 ranging from 1:1 to 1:2 via changing the photosensitizer content in the confined space. By increasing the N content around the cubane, the photocatalytic performance drops sharply in Co4@Ru0.1-Eu-bpydc, but with an enhanced proportion of CO in the final products. In the homogeneous system, the Co4 cubane was surrounding with Ru photosensitizers via week interactions, which can drive water splitting into H2 with >99% selectivity. Comprehensive structure-function analysis highlights the important role of microenvironment regulation in the selectivity control via constructing homogeneous and heterogeneous photocatalytic systems. This work provides a new insight for engineering a catalytic microenvironment of the cubane cluster for selectivity control of CO2 photoreduction and water splitting.

ABSTRACT

Cowpea [Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.] is one of the most tolerant legume crops to drought and salt stresses. WRKY transcription factor (TF) family members stand out among plant transcriptional regulators related to abiotic stress tolerance. However, little information is currently available on the expression of the cowpea WRKY gene family (VuWRKY) in response to water deficit. Thus, we analyzed genomic and transcriptomic data from cowpea to identify VuWRKY members and characterize their structure and transcriptional response under root dehydration stress. Ninety-two complete VuWRKY genes were found in the cowpea genome based on their domain characteristics. They were clustered into three groups: I (15 members), II (58), and III (16), while three genes were unclassified. Domain analysis of the encoded proteins identified four major variants of the conserved heptapeptide motif WRKYGQK. In silico analysis of VuWRKY gene promoters identified eight candidate binding motifs of cis-regulatory elements, regulated mainly by six TF families associated with abiotic stress responses. Ninety-seven VuWRKY modulated splicing variants associated with 55 VuWRKY genes were identified via RNA-Seq analysis available at the Cowpea Genomics Consortium (CpGC) database. qPCR analyses showed that 22 genes are induced under root dehydration, with VuWRKY18, 21, and 75 exhibiting the most significant induction levels. Given their central role in activating signal transduction cascades in abiotic stress response, the data provide a foundation for the targeted modification of specific VuWRKY family members to improve drought tolerance in this important climate-resilient legume in the developing world and beyond.

ABSTRACT

The lesser grain borer, Rhyzopertha dominica (F.) (Coleoptera: Bostrichidae), is a major global pest of cereal grains. Infestations are difficult to control as larvae feed inside grain kernels, and many populations are resistant to both contact insecticides and fumigants. We sequenced the genome of R. dominica to identify genes responsible for important biological functions and develop more targeted and efficacious management strategies. The genome was assembled from long read sequencing and long-range scaffolding technologies. The genome assembly is 479.1 Mb, close to the predicted genome size of 480.4 Mb by flow cytometry. This assembly is among the most contiguous beetle assemblies published to date, with 139 scaffolds, an N50 of 53.6 Mb, and L50 of 4, indicating chromosome-scale scaffolds. Predicted genes from biologically relevant groups were manually annotated using transcriptome data from adults and different larval tissues to guide annotation. The expansion of carbohydrase and serine peptidase genes suggest that they combine to enable efficient digestion of cereal proteins. A reduction in the copy number of several detoxification gene families relative to other coleopterans may reflect the low selective pressure on these genes in an insect that spends most of its life feeding internally. Chemoreceptor genes contain elevated numbers of pseudogenes for odorant receptors that also may be related to the recent ontogenetic shift of R. dominica to a diet consisting primarily of stored grains. Analysis of repetitive sequences will further define the evolution of bostrichid beetles compared to other species. The data overall contribute significantly to coleopteran genetic research.

BACKGROUND: The Candida glabrata does not develop into a pathogenic hiphal form; however, it has become the second most common pathogen of fungal infections in humans, partly because of its adhesion ability and virulence. OBJECTIVES: The present study aimed to determine whether Flo8, a transcription factor that plays an important role in the virulence and drug resistance in Candida albicans, has a similar role in C. glabrata. METHODS: We constructed FLO8 null strains of a C. glabrata standard strain and eight clinical strains from different sources, and a FLO8 complemented strain. Real-time quantitative PCR, biofilm formation assays, hydrophobicity tests, adhesion tests, Caenorhabditis elegans survival assay, and drug-susceptibility were then performed. RESULTS: Compared with the wild-type strains, the biofilm formation, hydrophobicity, adhesion, and virulence of the FLO8-deficient strains decreased, accompanied by decreased expression of EPA1, EPA6, and EPA7. On the other hand, it showed no changes in antifungal drug resistance, although the expression levels of CDR1, CDR2, and SNQ2 increased after FLO8 deletion. CONCLUSIONS: These results indicated that Flo8 is involved in the adhesion and virulence of C. glabrata, with FLO8 deletion leading to decreased expression of EPA1, EPA6, and EPA7 and decreased biofilm formation, hydrophobicity, adhesion, and virulence.

ABSTRACT

Abstract Gut bacterial β-glucuronidase (GUS) can reactivate xenobiotics that exert enterohepatic circulation- triggered gastrointestinal tract toxicity. GUS inhibitors can alleviate drug-induced enteropathy and improve treatment outcomes. We evaluated the inhibitory effect of Polygonum cuspidatum Siebold & Zucc. and its major constituents against Escherichia coli GUS (EcGUS), and characterized the inhibitory mechanism of each of the components. Trans-resveratrol 4'-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (HZ-1) and (-)-epicatechin gallate (HZ-2) isolated from P. cuspidatum were identified as the key components and potent inhibitors. These two components displayed strong to moderate inhibitory effects on EcGUS, with Ki values of 9.95 and 1.95 μM, respectively. Results from molecular docking indicated that HZ-1 and HZ-2 could interact with the key residues Asp163, Ser360, Ile 363, Glu413, Glu504, and Lys 568 of EcGUS via hydrogen bonding. Our findings demonstrate the inhibitory effect of P. cuspidatum and its two components on EcGUS, which supported the further evaluation and development of P. cuspidatum and its two active components as novel candidates for alleviating drug-induced damage in the mammalian gut.

Regulatory T cells (Tregs) play critical roles in restricting inflammatory pathogenesis and limiting undesirable Th2 response to environmental allergens. However, the role of miR-181a in regulating acute gouty arthritis (AGA) and Treg function remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the potential roles of miR-181a in Treg immunity and the associated signaling pathway in the AGA mouse model. A solution with monosodium urate (MSU) crystals was injected into the joint tissue of mice to induce AGA. ELISA was used to examine inflammatory factors in blood samples, and flow cytometry was used to analyze Treg profile in mice with MSU-induced AGA. Cell proliferation and viability were assessed by CCK-8 assay. TGF-β1/Smad signaling activation was detected by western blot. We found that miR-181a expression showed a positive correlation with the changes of splenic Tregs percentage in AGA mice. miR-181a regulated the TGF-β1/Smad axis, since the transfection of miR-181a mimic increased the level of TGF-β1 and the phosphorylation of Smad2/3 in Tregs in AGA mice. Additionally, miR-181a mimic also promoted responses of Tregs via TGF-β1 in vitro and in vivo. Our work uncovered a vital role of miR-181a in the immune function of Treg cells by mediating the activity of the TGF-β1/Smad pathway in the AGA mouse model induced by MSU.

BACKGROUND: In 2017 Tuta absoluta was identified as an invasive species in China. Due to its rapid geographic expansion and the severe crop damage it causes, T. absoluta poses a serious threat to China's tomato production industry. To determine its geographic distribution and host range, intensive surveys and routine monitoring were conducted across the Chinese mainland between 2018 and 2019. The population colonization coefficient (PCC; ratio of colonized sites and prefectures) and population occurrence index (POI; ratio of infested host species and PCCs) were calculated. RESULTS: In northwestern China, T. absoluta populations established in Xinjiang exhibited a medium PCC value (~0.03). In southwestern China, populations in Yunnan and its five neighboring provinces exhibited high (~0.50 in Yunnan and Guizhou), or low (<0.02 in Guangxi, Sichuan, Hunan, and Chongqing) PCC values. In the Chinese mainland, infestations of four crop plant species (tomato, eggplant, potato, and Chinese lantern) and two wild plant species (black nightshade and Dutch eggplant) were identified; tomatoes were infested in every colonized province. Chinese lantern and Dutch eggplant are potentially novel hosts. Yunnan, Guizhou, and Xinjiang experienced the most serious damage (POI). In southwestern China, observed damage significantly decreased with increased distance from the first discovery site of T. absoluta to the farthest county of an infested province increased. CONCLUSION: T. absoluta populations are well-established and could potentially spread to other regions of China. The present study helps to inform the establishment of better pest management guidelines and strategies in China and tomato-producing regions worldwide. © 2021 Society of Chemical Industry.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Aerobic exercise can improve the physical function of athletes and increase the oxygen content in skeletal muscles. This has a significant reference value for evaluating training effects and judging sports fatigue. Objective: Maximum oxygen uptake is one of the most critical indicators of aerobic work capacity. The thesis analyzes the medical promotion effect of physical exercise on the oxygen content of skeletal muscle. Methods: The thesis performed aerobic exercises on two groups of young rowers. Athletes in group A performed high-load exercise, and athletes in group B performed low-load exercise. At the same time, we placed a detector on the athletes' skeletal muscle to test the volunteer's muscle oxygen content and other physiological indicators. Results: Comparing high-load exercise and low-load exercise, the maximum oxygen uptake and the utilization rate of the maximum oxygen uptake when reaching the anaerobic net were 10% and 16% higher, respectively. There was no difference in the activity of muscle enzymes between the two groups. Conclusions: After aerobic training, the muscle's oxygen utilization capacity is strengthened. Physical exercise promotes the maximum oxygen uptake of skeletal muscles. Level of evidence II; Therapeutic studies - investigation of treatment results.


RESUMO Introdução: O exercício aeróbico pode melhorar a função física de atletas e aumentar o conteúdo de oxigênio nos músculos esqueléticos. Isso tem valor referencial importante na avaliação de efeitos do treinamento e no julgamento da fadiga pela prática de esportes. Objetivo: A captação máxima de oxigênio é um dos indicadores cruciais da capacidade aeróbica. A tese analisa o efeito médico de se incentivar exercícios físicos para o conteúdo de oxigênio do músculo esquelético. Métodos: a tese realizou exercícios aeróbicos em dois grupos de jovens remadores. Os atletas do grupo A realizaram exercícios de alta carga; os atletas do grupo B realizaram exercícios de baixa carga. Ao mesmo tempo, colocamos um detector nos músculos esqueléticos dos atletas para testar o conteúdo de oxigênio no músculo e outros indicadores fisiológicos. Resultados: Ao compararmos exercícios de alta carga e de baixa carga, a captação máxima de oxigênio e o índice de utilização de captação máxima de oxigênio ao atingir o ganho aeróbico foram 10% e 16% mais altos, respectivamente. Não houve diferença na atividade de enzimas musculares entre os dois grupos. Conclusões: Após o treino aeróbico, a utilização de oxigênio do músculo se fortalece. O exercício físico promove a máxima captação de oxigênio dos músculos esqueléticos. Nível de evidência II; Estudos terapêuticos - investigação de resultados de tratamento.

Eso tiene valor referencial importante en la evaluación de efectos del entrenamiento y al juzgar la fatiga por la práctica de deportes. Objetivo: El consumo máximo de oxígeno es uno de los indicadores cruciales de la capacidad aeróbica. La tesis analiza el efecto médico de incentivar ejercicios físicos para el contenido de oxígeno del músculo esquelético. Métodos: La tesis realizó ejercicios aeróbicos en dos grupos de jóvenes remeros. Los atletas del grupo A realizaron ejercicios de alta carga, y los atletas del grupo B realizaron ejercicios de baja carga. Al mismo tiempo, pusimos un detector en los músculos esqueléticos de los atletas para probar el contenido de oxígeno en el músculo y otros indicadores fisiológicos. Resultados: Al comparar ejercicios de alta carga y de baja carga, el consumo máximo de oxígeno y el índice de utilización del consumo máximo de oxígeno al atingir el gano aeróbico fueron 10% y 16% más altos, respectivamente. ABSTRACT

The chloroplast genome of the Magnolia species from Central America has never been reported. With its local use for food flavoring, medicine, and wood, M. mexicana has been of good economic importance. In the present study, the complete chloroplast genome of M. mexicana was assembled via the genome skimming data. As a typical quadripartite structure, the plastome of M. mexicana with 159,906 bp in length includes two inverted repeats (26,554 bp) separated by a small single copy region (18,761 bp) as well as a large single copy region (88,037 bp). This chloroplast genome consists of 131 different genes, including 86 protein coding genes (CDS), eight rRNA genes, and 37 tRNA genes. The maximum likelihood phylogenetic analysis showed that M. mexicana from Central America was closely related to an evergreen species, M. odoratissima from East Asia.

Fulminant type 1 diabetes mellitus (FT1DM) has received clinical attention for its low incidence and poor prognosis. Currently, few cases of FT1DM are associated with pregnancy in clinical practice, but it poses a great threat to the life of mothers and infants. Here, we present two cases of FT1DM in pregnancy. In Case 1, the patient was a 26-year-old woman who was admitted to the hospital with reduced fetal movement. She was diagnosed with FT1DM and delivered a dead female fetus. Lispro and lantus were administered to control blood glucose, and lipoic acid for antioxidant therapy. In Case 2, the patient was a 28-year-old woman who developed nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and polydipsia, which later proved to be FT1DM. An abortion was induced and blood glucose levels were controlled using an insulin pump. All physicians should be aware of this disease in order to provide prompt diagnosis and emergency treatment, thus improving maternal prognosis. We suggest that plasma glucose/hemoglobin A1C ratio be adopted as a new clinical parameter in predicting FT1DM.
