ABSTRACT

In this work, a novel and efficient Fe-Ni LDH@ZIF-67 catalyst modified carbon cloth (CC) cathode was developed for tetracycline (TC) degradation in heterogeneous electro-Fenton (Hetero-EF) process. Compared to Fe-Ni LDH/CC (75.7%), TC degradation rate of Fe-Ni LDH@ZIF-67/CC cathode increased to 95.6% within 60 min. The synergistic effect of hetero-EF and anodic oxidation process accelerated electron transfer, the maximum H2O2 production of Fe-Ni LDH@ZIF-67/CC electrode reached 264 mg/L, improving utilization efficiency of H2O2. The cathode possessing a satisfied TC degradation performance over a wide pH (3-9). Free radical capture experiment revealed the collaboration of ·O2-, ·OH, and 1O2 play a significant role in TC degradation. The 5 cycles experiment and metal ion leaching experiment showed that the proposed Fe-Ni LDH@ZIF-67/CC has good recyclability and stability. In addition, the proposed Fe-Ni LDH@ZIF-67/CC cathode achieved satisfying performance in real water (tap water: 97.3%, lake water: 97.7%), demonstrating the possibility for practical application. TC degradation pathways were proposed by theory analysis and experimental results. The toxicity of TC intermediates was reduced by Hetero-EF degradation according to Toxicity Estimation Software Tool and Escherichia coli growth inhibition experiments. This work provides a novel modified cathode to improve removal efficiency of antibiotics in wastewater.

ABSTRACT

Objective: This study investigated the effects of different anesthetic methods on perioperative immune function and long-term regression of patients undergoing thoracoscopic radical surgery for esophageal cancer. Methods: Data from 147 patients undergoing thoracoscopic radical surgery for esophageal cancer in our hospital from January 2017 to June 2019 were selected for retrospective analysis. Patients were divided into control (intravenous anesthesia combined with an epidural block, n = 83) and observation (intravenous anesthesia combined with a thoracic paravertebral nerve block, n = 64) groups. The use of relevant drugs during the surgery, indexes of the peripheral blood T-lymphocyte subpopulation at different time points (before induction of anesthesia, at the completion of surgery, 24 h postoperatively, and 48 h postoperatively), and 3-year postoperative survival were compared between the two groups. Results: Data on propofol and remifentanil use during surgery were not significantly different (P > 0.05) between the two groups. The proportion of vasoactive drug use was lower in the observation group than in the control group (P < 0.05). Differences in data for CD3+, CD4+, and CD4+/CD8+ cells between time points were significant (F = 13.256, 20.307, 18.035, P < 0.05), while those between the two groups were not (F = 1.005, 1.135, 1.204, P > 0.05). There was no interaction between data processing factors and time between the control and observation groups in CD3+, CD4+, and CD4+/CD8+ cells (F = 0.358, 0.778, 1.107, P > 0.05). The median overall survival time was 21.988 (95 % confidence interval: 18.436-25.541) and 26.978 (95 % confidence interval: 20.124-33.833) months in the control and observation groups, respectively, with a significant difference between the two groups (Log-rank χ2 = 3.925, P < 0.05). Conclusions: Both anesthetic methods achieve satisfactory anesthetic results and reduce postoperative stress and immunosuppression. However intravenous anesthesia combined with an epidural block can increase the incidence of intraoperative hypotension in the patients, thoracic paravertebral nerve block combined with general anesthesia is more favorable for maintaining intraoperative blood pressure and heart rate stability, as well as for postoperative survival.

ABSTRACT

While many people believe that exercise can relieve stress and enrich well-being, it is unclear whether this relationship always holds when employees suffer from work-family conflict (WFC). Drawing on the transactional theory of stress and conservation of resources theory, we examine how exercise moderates the impact of time- and strain-based WFC on employees' vitality at work and, subsequently, employees' subjective well-being. With data collected in multiple waves from a sample in China (N = 243), we found that when employees experienced time-based WFC, strong adherence to exercise did not benefit their vitality as weak adherence to exercise did. However, when employees experienced strain-based work interference with family demands, strong (rather than weak) adherence to exercise benefited their vitality. In addition, the moderating effect of exercise on the relationship between WFC and vitality transited to affect employee job satisfaction.

ABSTRACT

In this study, we focus on glass ceiling perceptions, characterized by women's subjective feelings about their ability to move upward in their organization. Drawing on social information processing and hope theory, we propose that glass ceiling perceptions decrease women's citizenship behaviors and increase their turnover intentions by draining their hope in the workplace. Moreover, we suggest that the strength of the association between glass ceiling perceptions, drained hope in the workplace, and these two outcomes is conditional upon women's perceptions of their work-family conflict. Using a two-study design, we tested our hypothesized relationships. We found a mediating effect of drained hope in the workplace between glass ceiling perceptions and (a) turnover intention and (b) organizational citizenship behaviors. This effect is significant when work-family conflict is high. Finally, we discuss the implications of our findings regarding the tensions that women experience with simultaneously managing their careers and conflict in the family.

ABSTRACT

The aim of study was to explore the application effect and safety of comfortable nursing based on optimized mobile Internet of Things (MIoT) in the clinical sedation and diagnosis of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) in children. A total of 70 children with MPP admitted to the respiratory clinic of hospital were randomly selected and divided into a control group (comfortable nursing mode) and an observation group (comfortable nursing mode based on optimized MIoT), with 35 cases in each. The nursing effects and safety were compared between groups. The results showed that the node jitter rate, delivery success rate, and congestion times of the multilayered sensing algorithm were better than those of the mobile relay area segmentation algorithm and the wedge merge-energy hole elimination area segmentation algorithm. The CD-RISC resilience score of the observation group ((94.72 ± 1.58) points), the proportion of children with Frankl-3 and 4 points (90%), and the comfort level ((95.01 ± 5.68) points) were higher than those of the control group ((64.12 ± 1.62) points, (33.33%), and (55.23 ± 6.18) points) (P < 0.05). After treatment, the proportion of children with HRCT image lesions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the FEV1 ((85.71 ± 5.23) % vs. (68.26 ± 5.90) %) and FEV1/FVC ((74.22 ± 2.12) % vs (64.38 ± 2.34) %) of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group (P < 0.05). The results showed that the incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group (14%) was significantly lower than that in the control group (46%) (P < 0.05). MIoT-assisted comfort nursing based on multilayer perception region segmentation algorithm can more effectively relieve the emotions of children in MPP outpatient department during sedation and diagnosis and treatment, improve the therapeutic effect and safety, and is worthy of clinical promotion.
