ABSTRACT

The aim of this paper was to investigate the immunosuppressive effects of dihydroartemisinin and Huobahua compatibility in mice with delayed hypersensitivity and explore its possible mechanism. The delayed-type hypersensitivity(DTH) model in mice was established to observe the immunosuppressive effects of dihydroartemisinin and Huobahua compatibility in DTH mice. ELISA assay was used to detect the contents of interferon(IFN-γ); histopathological changes and degree of mononuclear infiltration of right ear tissues were examined by HE staining; the expression level of intercellular cell adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1) in the right ear of mice was detected by immunohistochemistry; the protein expression levels of p38 phospho mitogen activated protein kinase(p-p38 MAPK) was detected by Western blot analysis. As compared with the control group, the degree of ear swelling, thymus/spleen index, serum IFN-γ as well as the number and degree of infiltration of monocytes were significantly increased in the model group. As compared with the model group, the degree of ear swelling and thymus/spleen index of the mice in the combination group were significantly reduced; the number and degree of infiltration of monocytes were significantly relieved; the serum levels of IFN-γ and the expression levels of p-p38 MAPK and ICAM-1 proteins in the right ear were also significantly reduced. The combination of dihydroartemisinin and Huobahua can significantly inhibit the DTH response, and it may regulate the production and secretion of related inflammatory factor IFN-γ by inhibiting the phosphorylation activity of p38 MAPK, thereby further reducing the expression of ICAM-1 and thus exerting the immunosuppressive effect.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical efficacy difference between segmentation scraping and conventional acupuncture for cervical spondylosis (CS) so as to provide effective treatment method. METHODS: Eighty-five cases of cervical type of CS were randomly divided into a scraping group (44 cases) and an acupuncture group (41 cases). The segmentation scraping therapy was used in the scraping group. The scraping group was treated with focusing on scraping the head and joint part of neck and occiput in the upper cervical spine injury, and focusing on scraping the lower section of cervical and shoulder in the lower cervical spine injury, once every seven days, totally for 3 times. In the acupuncture group, Fengchi (GB 20),Wangu (TE 5), Tianzhu (BL 10),Neck-Jiaji (EX-B 2), etc. were selected, once daily, for 15 days. The visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to evaluate the immediate analgesic effect after the first treatment and the clinical efficacy was observed after the end of treatment. RESULTS: After the first treatment, the score of VAS was decreased significantly in the scaping group (P < 0.01), but there was no significant difference in the acupuncture group compared with those before treatment (P > 0.05); the score of VAS in the scaping group after the first treatment was lower than that in the acupuncture group (3.66 +/- 0.74 vs 5.43 +/- 0.35, P < 0.01). Compared with before treatment, the scores of VAS were decreased significantly after treatment in two groups (both P < 0.01), but without significant difference between two groups (P > 0.05); the effective rate was 95.5% (42/44) in the scaping group and 87.8% (36/41) in the acupuncture group, the curative effects were similar (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Both of scraping and acupuncture therapies have good analgesic effect for cervical spondylosis, and overall effects are similar, but the immediate analgesic effect of scraping thrapy is better than that of conventional acupuncture.

ABSTRACT

Ore sample, pretreated at 650 degrees C, was decomposed with aqua regia. Gold in the sample solution was then pre-concentrated by adsorbing with polyurethane foam plastic, released with thiourea solution, and determined by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry and flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Based on the characteristic of the copper matte and sinter containing copper, the effects of sample dissolving condition, matrix effect and interference of coexisting elements were investigated. The accuracy, precision and detection limit were discussed. The results of test show that both of the two methods were suitable for determining the contents of gold in copper matte and sintered copper material.
