ABSTRACT

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with an "inverted" architecture are a key pathway for commercializing this emerging photovoltaic technology due to the better power conversion efficiency (PCE) and operational stability as compared to the "normal" device structure. Specifically, PCEs of the inverted PSCs have exceeded 25% owing to the development of improved self-assembled molecules (SAMs)1-5 and passivation strategies6-8. Nevertheless, poor wettability and agglomerations of SAMs9-12 will cause interfacial losses, impeding further improvement in PCE and stability. Herein, we report on molecular hybrid at the buried interface in inverted PSCs by co-assembling a multiple carboxylic acid functionalized aromatic compound of 4,4',4''-nitrilotribenzoicacid (NA) with a popular SAM of [4-(3,6-dime-thyl-9H-carbazol-9-yl)butyl]phosphonic acid (Me-4PACz) to improve the heterojunction interface. The molecular hybrid of Me-4PACz with NA could substantially improve the interfacial characteristics. The resulting inverted PSCs demonstrated a record-certified steady-state efficiency of 26.54%. Crucially, this strategy aligns seamlessly with large-scale manufacturing, achieving the highest certified PCE for inverted mini-modules at 22.74% (aperture area: 11.1 cm2). Our device also maintained 96.1% of its initial PCE after more than 2,400 hours of 1-sun operation in ambient air.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: The relationship between macrophage polarization-related genes (MPRGs) and intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is unclear. The purpose of this study was to identify biomarkers associated with IDD. METHODS: Three transcriptome sequencing datasets, GSE124272, GSE70362 and GSE56081 were included in this study. Differential expressed genes (DEGs) were obtained by overlapping DEGs1 from the GSE124272 and DEGs2 from the GSE70362. The key module genes associated with the score of MPRGs were identified by weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) in GSE12472. Differentially expressed (DE)-MPRGs were acquired by overlapping key module genes and DEGs. Candidate genes were obtained by SVM-RFE algorithm. Biomarkers were obtained by expression level analysis. In addition, immune analysis, enrichment analysis and construction of a ceRNA network were completed. The blood samples from 9 IDD patients (IDD group) and 9 healthy individuals (Control group) were used to verify the expression levels of these biomarkers through RT-qPCR. RESULTS: A sum of 39 DEGs were obtained by overlapping DEGs1 and DEGs2, and 1,633 key module genes were obtained by WGCNA. 9 DE-MPRGs were obtained by overlapping DEGs and key module genes, and ST6GALNAC2, SMIM3, and IFITM2 were identified as biomarkers. These biomarkers were enriched in KEGG_RIBOSOME pathway. Check-point, Cytolytic_activity, T_cell_co-stimulation, Neutrophils, Th2_cells and TIL differed between IDD and control groups. Some relationships such as SMIM3-hsa-miR-107-LINC02381 were identified in the network. Moreover, the functional analysis results of biomarkers showed that FITM2 and SMIM3 could predict IDD and nociceptive pain. The RT-qPCR showed that ST6GALNAC2 and IFITM2 were significantly expressed in IDD group in contrast to the control group. CONCLUSION: The macrophage polarization related biomarkers (ST6GALNAC2, SMIM3 and IFITM2) were associated with IDD, among which IFITM2 could be considered as a key gene for IDD. This may provide a new direction for the biological treatment and mechanism research into IDD.

ABSTRACT

Generally, we consider chitosan being a safe, nontoxic natural polymer with wide clinical applications. However, allergic reactions caused by chitosan have been reported on rare occasions. We report here a case of allergy and perform a literature review.

ABSTRACT

Enabling efficient and durable charge storage under high sulfur loading and lean electrolyte remains a paramount challenge for Li-S battery technology to truly demonstrate its commercial viability. This work reports an amphoteric polymer binder, whose negatively and positively charged moieties allow for coregulation of both lithium cations and heteropolar lithium polysulfides through multiple intermolecular interactions. These interactions and the physical properties lead to simultaneously improved Li+ transport, polysulfide adsorption and catalysis, cathode robustness and anode stability. Therefore, this multifunctional binder endows Li-S batteries with compelling overall performances even under rigorous conditions. At low sulfur loading and copious electrolyte, the cell shows a low capacity-fading rate of 0.056% cycle-1 upon 700 cycles. At sulfur loading of 6.8 mg cm-2 and low E/S of 6 µL mg-1 , the cell still delivers stable areal capacities between 4.2 and 4.8 mAh cm-2 in 50 cycles without obvious decay at 0.2 C. The commercial feasibility of this work is further manifested by its zero added weight, low material cost, and ease of manufacturing and scale-up. The efficacy and simplicity of this work symbolize an example of lab-scale battery research aiming at improved technology and manufacturing readiness level.
