ABSTRACT

The homogeneous carbon nanotubes (CNTs) directly grown on short cut carbon fibers (CFs) surface by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using iron nanoparticles as catalyst. The iron nanoparticles were obtained by the reduction of magnetite particles using mixed nitrogen and hydrogen gas flow at 415 °C. Magnetite particles were prepared through a solvothermal reaction, where iron(III) acetylacetone as catalyst source and polylol as solvent. CNTs grown on CFs were used as reinforcement in epoxy (EP). The effects of density of CNTs grown on CFs (CNTs-CFs) and different mass fractions of CNTs-CFs in EP on the composites flexural strength were investigated. Results indicate that the reaction of iron(III) acetylacetone can synthesize magnetite particles of ca. 10 nm coated on CFs only in triethylene glycol (TREG) or polyethylene glycol 200 (PEG200). When CNTs grown on CFs surfaces at catalyst source concentration of 1.5 mmol/L, the flexural strength of CNTs-CF/EP composites with the addition of 0.8 wt% CNTs-CFs was improved by 28.1% to 102.5 MPa compared to that of pure EP. The homogeneous CNTs grown on CFs enhanced interfacial bonding are responsible for the improvement of composites flexural strength.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the influencing factors of working enthusiasm among public hospital medical staff in underdeveloped areas. Methods:With the method of stratified sampling,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 310 public hospital medical staff. The influencing factors of working enthusiasm were analyzed using the method of factor analysis and Ordinal Logistic model. Results:From the 14 incentives,we extracted three common factors including relationship development, living, and leisure. After the analysis of Ordinal Logistic model,it showed that the main influencing factors of the enthusiasm were the relationship development, leisure and hospital grade. Conclusion:It should put medical staff member leave system into effect to create a good atmosphere for relationships, and provide a reasonable space for promotion to enhance the enthusiasm of medical staff.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the influence of open access journals ( OAJ ) of biomedicine on academic exchanges by empirically analyzing the journals enrolled in the Chinese science citation database-the core (CSCD-C).Methods Multivariate statistical analysis was performed on OAJ and non OAJ in CSCD by using bibliometric and statistical methods,SPSS software and rank-sum test. Results The OAJ were accounted for only 31.63% of the total enrolled journals, the average ratio of funded papers in OAJ was 72.29%.Statistical journals had high influence in the discipline. The selfcitation rates of clinical medicine OAJ and special medical OAJ were high. The average impact factor and h index in biological OAJ were high. The average impact factor of preventive medicine OAJ was high. The average h index of comprehensive non OAJ was high. Conclusions The distribution of OAJ is uneven among different disciplines. The ratio of funded papers is higher in OAJ than in non OAJ with insignificant differences in discipline influence.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of nifedipine on renal ischemia-reperfusion injury (I/R) in rats and the possible mechanism. Methods Forty-two male SD rats weighing 220-250 g were randomly divided into 3 groups with 14 animals in each group: sham operation group (group S); I/R group and I/R + nifedipine group (group N). The renal ischemia was induced by occlusion of bilateral renal arteries and veins for 45 min followed by reperfusion. In group S the renal arteries and veins were only exposed but not occluded. In group N, nifedipine 0.1 mg/kg was injected via the tail vein 15 min before ischemia and 15 min before reperfusion, while the equal volume of solvent was given in group I/R. The urine was collected to detect the N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminide (NAG) activities at 6 and 24 h of reperfusion. Arterial blood samples were taken at 6 and 24 h reperfusion for determination of concentrations of serum creatinine (Cr), malondialdehyde (MDA) and NO. The rats were then sacrificed and the kidney was removed to detect the apoptotic cells in renal cortex and expression of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) and endothelin- 1 (ET-1). Results The concentrations of serum Cr and MDA, NAG activity, expression of HSP70 and ET-1 and apoptosis rate were significantly increased in group I/R compared with group S (P <0.05). The concentrations of serum Cr and MDA, NAG activity, ET-1 expression and apoptosis rate were significantly decreased, while the serum NO concentration was significantly increased in group N compared with group I/R (P < 0.05). Conclusion Nifedipine can attenuate renal I/R injury and the underlying mechanism may be related to the inhibition of ET-1 expression.

ABSTRACT

This article gives a profound exploration on the theoretical origin, prohibitions and mechanisms of moxibustion for heat syndrome. Based upon the ancient and modem literature, this article also gives a classified summarization on diseases of moxibustion for heat syndrome, in order to obtain a thorough understanding about the theory and clinical application of moxibustion for heat syndrome, hence to further perfect the theory of moxibustion and guide the clinical practice.

ABSTRACT

To our knowledge, there has been no clinical report of artesunate in the treatment of lung cancer. This study was designed to compare the efficacy and toxicity of artesunate combined with NP (a chemotherapy regimen of vinorelbine and cisplatin) and NP alone in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

ABSTRACT

In most universities the usage of digital information resources are not ideal. One reason is that primary audience groups of libraries——college students rarely use these resources. So we propose some measures and proposals for university libraries to provide the service of digital information resources for university students.

ABSTRACT

By studying the behaviors of surfing in the Internet of the readers in our electronic reading room,we find a majority of readers are for amusement, only a minority of readers are to study and search data.Aiming at these problems,we put forward a series of measures and management countermeasures that guide readers to make good use of the electronic reading room and give some suggestions for our future work.

ABSTRACT

The effects of L-arginine (L-Arg), the physiological NO precureor and NO synthetase inhibitor NG-nitro-L-arginine (L-NNA) on endogenous endothelin (ET) secretion and renal function were observed in a model of glycerol-induced acute renal failure (ARF) in rat. It was found that endogenous ET secretion was significantly increased, while serum NO was markedly decreased in ARF rats. The administration of L-NNA to the ARF rats induced significant increases in plasma ET and positive immunoreactive particles of ET in renal tubular epithelial cells(EP cells), and the impairment of renal function was exaggerated. L-Arg might effectively decrease the level of plasma ET and the positive immunoreactive particles of ET in renal tubular EP cells, suggesting the improvement of the renal function. It is suggested that the ability of NO in improving renal function may relatedto the inhibition of endogenous ET secretion in glycerol-induced ARF rats.
