ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To investigate serum levels of vitamin A and E in pregnant women in Huai'an and evaluate their nutritional status. METHODS: Totally 2824 cases of pregnant women were chosen from the Huai'an Maternal and Child Health-Care Center during January 2017 to May 2018. The serum level of vitamin A and vitamin E in the blood was detected by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). RESULTS: The serum level of vitamin A was(0. 39±0. 08) mg/L, the overall abnormal rate was 12. 3%. The serum level of vitamin E was(13. 28±4. 67) mg/L, the overall abnormal rate was 3. 7%. Vitamin A level were positively correlated with age and dysarteriotony. Vitamin E level were also positively correlated age, dysarteriotony and appetite. CONCLUSION: The abnormal of vitamin A is mainly lack, the abnormal of vitamin E is mainly excessive.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Associations of polymorphisms in transcription factor 7 like 2 (TCF7L2), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), vitamin D receptor (VDR), and interleukin-10 with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) were already reported by several publications. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this meta-analysis was to better clarify associations between these polymorphisms and GDM by combing the results of all relevant publications. METHODS: Eligible publications were searched from Pubmed, Embase, WOS, and CNKI. We used Review Manager to combine the results of individual studies. RESULTS: Thirty-nine studies were included in this study. Combined results revealed that TCF7L2 rs290487, TCF7L2rs7901695, TCF7L2rs7903146, TCF7L2 rs12255372, TNF-α rs1800629, and VDR FokI rs2228570 polymorphisms were all significantly associated with susceptibility to GDM in the total population. In subgroup analyses, we obtained similar positive findings for rs290487, rs7903146, rs1800629, and rs2228570 polymorphisms in Asians, and positive results were also observed for rs7901695, rs7903146, and rs12255372 polymorphisms in Caucasians. CONCLUSIONS: Collectively, this meta-analysis proved that TCF7L2 rs290487, TCF7L2rs7901695, TCF7L2rs7903146, TCF7L2 rs12255372, TNF-α rs1800629, and VDR FokI rs2228570 polymorphisms may confer susceptibility to GDM in certain populations.

ABSTRACT

A high-performance liquid chromatography method is developed for the simultaneous determination of menadione, retinyl acetate, cholecalciferol, alpha-tocopherol, and alpha-tocopherol acetate in feed. The present study uses an enzyme to destroy the coating film, ethanol to extract free vitamins, and Oasis HLB cartridges to purify. Vitamins are separated using an Atlantis dC18 column. The mobile phase is methanol-water (98:2 v/v). Detection is performed with a UV-vis detector at 230 and 265 nm. The linearity, accuracy, and repeatability of this method are all satisfactory. Application of the method is suitable for the determination of the fat-soluble vitamins in general feed.
