ABSTRACT

Levonadifloxacin (WCK 771) is a novel broad-spectrum anti-methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) agent recently launched in India. Five process impurities and one degradation impurity were synthesized as reference standards for their quantification by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methodology in drug substance and drug product. These compounds are not easily commercially available. The synthesis and characterization of these impurities are discussed in detail.

ABSTRACT

Here, a large-scale feasible, chromatography-free process to purge triphenylphosphine oxide (TPPO) from the crude product of Mitsunobu and Wittig reactions has been developed. Divergence in physicochemical properties like polarity and solubility of TPPO against the product was utilized to precipitate TPPO directly from the reaction mixture and eliminate by simple filtration on a kilogram scale at a pilot plant with high purity of the product.

ABSTRACT

The novel Covid-19 was identified in Wuhan China in December, 2019 and has created medical emergency world wise and distorted many life in the couple of month, it is being burned challenging situation for the medical scientist and virologists. Fractional order derivative based modeling is quite important to understand the real world problems and to analyse realistic situation of the proposed model. In the present investigation a fractional model based on Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivative has been developed for the transmission of CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19) in Wuhan China. The existence and uniqueness solutions of the fractional order derivative has been investigated with the help of fixed point theory. Adamas- Bashforth numerical scheme has been used in the numerical simulation of the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional order derivative. The analysis of susceptible population, exposed population, infected population, recovered population and concentration of the virus of COVID-19 in the surrounding environment with respect to time for different values of fractional order derivative has been shown by means of graph. The comparative analysis has also been performed from classical model and fractional model along with the certified experimental data.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To assess the incidence of dentigerous cystic changes in the follicles of radiographically normal impacted mandibular third molars. METHODS: One hundred and thirteen follicles obtained after surgical removal of impacted mandibular third molars with radiolucency of less than 2.5 mm in the radiograph were sent for histopathologic evaluation to evaluate pathologic changes. RESULTS: The incidence of dentigerous cystic changes observed was 15.9%, that is, 18 out of 113 patients (51 males and 62 females), with the maximum incidence of cystic changes seen in the follicular space size of 0.5 mm. The mean age of the patients included was 27.8 ± 8.1. The most common indication for extraction among the patients in this study was recurrent pericoronitis (95%). There were no statistically significant differences in occurrence of cystic changes based on age, gender, angulation, relation to ramus, depth, side of impaction, and follicle size (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Dental follicles obtained from surgically removed impacted mandibular third molars should be submitted for histopathologic examination irrespective of the radiographic size of the follicle.

ABSTRACT

Once incision and drainage of fascial space abscess is performed, irrigation of deep spaces with saline and antibiotic solution should be done daily for effective elimination or reduction of infection. Various advocated aids for irrigation into deeper areas are: small pediatric nasogastric feeding tubes, French catheter, polyethylene irrigation tubes and scalp vein infusion set. All these aids have major inherent disadvantages like, they tend to kink inside the deep spaces limiting the reach of irrigating solution into deeper spaces, are not readily available in dental departments and have to be discarded after every use. Overcoming these disadvantages, a simple yet an effective method is proposed here-use of a Frazier suction tube.
