ABSTRACT
A 60-years old female patient developed juxta-articular fibroid nodules and erythrocyanotic lesions of acrodermatitis chronica atrophicans after several tick bites. The woman was treated with ceftriaxon (Rocephin) 2 g daily parenterally without adverse reactions.

With the increasing demands on hospitals for improved quality and lower costs, hospitals have been forced to reevaluate their manner of operation and quality assurance programs. Hospitals have also been faced with customer dissatisfaction and intense competition. This article reviews current quality-management systems and examines their position in dermatology.

We report on a patient with an abdominal type of benign symmetrical Launois-Bensaude lipomatosis. New aspects of the pathogenesis of abnormal distribution of the fatty tissue are also discussed.
