ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the dietary intake of preschool children in Northwest China, and provide scientific basis for studying the dietary patterns and characteristics of preschool children and formulating targeted dietary interventions. Methods Using the self-designed “Semi-quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire for Preschool Children in Northwest China“, a convenient sampling method was used to investigate the dietary intake of children aged 3 to 7 years in Northwest China. The factor analysis combined with the cluster method was used to extract the dietary pattern. Results Through factor analysis of the average daily food intake of preschool children, the results show that the KMO test value was 0.82, Bartlett’s test value was 4 528.97, and the associated probability was <0.001, so factor analysis can be performed. In order to obtain more typical factor components so that the results were easier to explain, under the guidance of nutrition experts, the first 4 common factors were finally retained for analysis, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 62.17%. On this basis, the number of clusters was 4, and the K-means cluster analysis method was used to cluster the factor scores of various foods for preschool children. According to the proportions of various foods and the characteristics of the foods, The dietary patterns of preschool children can be divided into staple food-based dietary patterns, high-protein dietary patterns, healthy dietary patterns, and high-sugar dietary patterns. Conclusion Using factor analysis method, the scores of each food factor of preschool children were continuous variables, and the results were highly repeatable, and subsequent analysis can be carried out. The factor analysis combined with cluster analysis method extracting the dietary pattern of preschool children that had certain degree of science. According to the characteristics of the four dietary patterns extracted in this study, children's dietary interventions can be targeted to promote children's physical and mental health.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To compare the safety and effectiveness of shovel-shaped electrode transurethral plasmakinetic enucleation of the prostate (PKEP) with those of plasmakinetic resection of the prostate (PKRP) in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).@*METHODS@#We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data about 78 BPH patients received in Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital from June 2016 to January 2017, 39 treated by shovel-shaped electrode PKEP and the other 39 by PKRP. We observed the patients for 6 months postoperatively and compared the effects and safety of the two surgical strategies.@*RESULTS@#No statistically significant difference was observed between the PKEP and PKRP groups in the operation time ([69.3 ± 8.8] vs [72.2 ± 7.9] min, P = 0.126), but the former, as compared with the latter, showed a markedly less postoperative loss of hemoglobin ([3.9 ± 2.8] vs [13.9 ± 5.2] g/L, P 0.05) and other postoperative complications.@*CONCLUSIONS@#Both PKEP and PKRP are effective methods for the treatment of BPH, but PKEP is worthier of clinical recommendation for a better safety profile, more thorough removal of the prostate tissue, less blood loss, shorter hospital stay, and better improved quality of life of the patient.

ABSTRACT

In order to understand the characteristics of the phycophyta community structure and water quality in Sichuan section of Jialing River, water samples were collected from 12 sites along the section in dry season (January) and rainy season (September), with the phycophyta species composition, Shannon diversity index (H'), Pielou evenness index (E), and Margalef richness index (d) analyzed. A total of 171 phycophyta species (including variety) were collected, belonging to 8 phyla, 42 families, and 95 genera, among which, Bacillariophyta, Chlorophyta, and Cyanophyta were the dominant groups. In dry season, the mean cell density of the phycophyta was 14.71 x 10(4) ind x L(-1), being the highest at sites JX (28.33.4 x 10(4) ind x L(-1)) and HYZ (25.40 x 10(4) ind x L(-1)), and diatom species had a higher richness than the others. In rainy season, the mean cell density was only 10.78 x 10(4) ind x L(-1), being the lowest (3.31 x 10(4) ind x L(-1)) at site QJ, and the species richness of chlorophyta and cyanobateria had somewhat increase. In the whole section, the mean d, H', and E of the phycophyta were 2.35, 1.60, and 0.31 in dry season, and 2.57, 2.09, and 0.39 in rainy season, respectively. Our results indicated that there were significant differences in the spatiotemporal distribution patterns of the community structure, cell density, diversity index, and evenness index of phycophyta in Sichuan section of Jialing River. The water quality of this section was overall belonged to mesosaprobic, being better at sites JX and SX (belonged to oligosaprobic or beta-mesosaprobic), but worse at sites CX, HYZ, XZ, and QJ (belonged to alpha-mesosaprobic).
