ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To study the moderated mediation for attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) with the symptoms of anxiety in children.@*METHODS@#A total of 12 271 students were included with an average age of 8.9±1.9 years, including 6 743 male students and 5 508 female students, and 20 students with missing data on gender. Child psychological trauma questionnaires (parents version) and Conners questionnaires (parent version) were completed by the parents of primary school students. The data was studied by univariate analysis, multivariate analysis and moderated mediation analysis.@*RESULTS@#The results of the univariate analysis showed that in all subjects, boys, and girls, the scores of hyperactivity index and childhood trauma were positively correlated with the score of anxiety (P<0.01), and ADHD and childhood trauma positively predicted anxiety disorder (P<0.001). The results of the multivariate analysis showed that in all subjects, boys, and girls, the scores of hyperactivity index (ADHD symptoms) and childhood trauma positively predicted the score of anxiety (P<0.001), and both ADHD and childhood trauma positively predicted anxiety disorder (P<0.001). The results of the moderated mediation analysis showed that childhood trauma was a mediating factor for the relationship between hyperactivity index and anxiety index in boys and girls (P<0.05), and sex moderated the relationship between hyperactivity index and anxiety index (P<0.001).@*CONCLUSIONS@#ADHD symptoms/ADHD are closely associated with anxiety symptoms/anxiety disorder. Childhood trauma exerts a mediating effect on the relationship between ADHD symptoms and anxiety symptoms, and sex moderates the relationship between ADHD symptoms and anxiety symptoms.

ABSTRACT

We designed two types of pre-adaption plans for this study. One was a pre-adaption training with progressive intermittent hypoxia, with a constant lower pressure oxygen tank used in the plain before arriving at the plateau (PG). The other was by progressively increasing the time of exposure to hypoxia with oxygen supplied in stages after radical plateau (RG). By testing the blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), heart rate (HR), and quality of sleep after arriving at the 3800 m high plateau, results showed that the pre-acclimatization and radical groups performed better than the control group (CG). Both strategies were equivalent in terms of effects and principles in providing more flexible choices for acclimatization.

ABSTRACT

In present study, a method for analyzing the absorbed ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine QinJiao has been developed. A rat everted gut sac (EGS) model has been established, and the transporting capacity of gut sacs was identified by histological examinations. The ingredients including loganic acid, sweroside, gentiopicroside, and swertiamarian in serosal solution absorbed by active transport of rat everted ileum and jejunum from Qinjiao extraction were determined using an HPLC method. Histological integrality of the gut sacs remains perfect and the active transport activity of them is normal within 45 min of the experiment. The HPLC method employed in this study presents high specificity and good correlation. The relative standard deviation of precision of this method is less than 5.5%. Extraction recovery of samples is more than 90%. And stability of the samples in room temperature is perfect. Eight ingredients of Qinjiao absorbed in serosal solution are identified. Furthermore, concentration of Qinjiao extraction significantly affects accumulated absorption and absorption coefficient of the ingredients. However, there is no significant impact on the accumulated absorption and absorption coefficient by diverse of everted gut sections. From above, the EGS techniques might be an efficient method, which can be employed for investigation of absorbed ingredients of Traditional Chinese Medicines.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the correlation between airflow ratio and craniofacial, airway and dental morphology. METHODS: Seventy-two subjects aged 11 to 14 years were selected. The airflow ratio was measured by the system for the simultaneous measurement of oral and nasal respiration. Eighty-six variables of craniofacial, airway and dental morphology were acquired based on cephalometric films and models, from which 16 significant variables were selected. Multiple regression analysis (backward) and linear regression analysis were carried out in order to acquire morphological variables that had closer correlation with the airflow ratio. RESULTS: Four variables were found to have closer correlated association with the airflow ratio (P < 0.05), which were ANS-Me/N-Me, Ar-Go-Me, P-T, SHJK orderly and the coefficients were 3.359, 0.012, -0.013 and -0.021, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Craniofacial morphology was related to the respiratory mode.
