ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist, is reported to have cardiac benefits, but its effects on preventing atrial fibrillation (AF) remain inconclusive. This study aimed to investigate whether semaglutide can prevent AF occurrence in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), obesity, or overweight. METHODS: We searched MEDLINE, EMBASE, the Cochrane CENTRAL database, and clinicaltrials.gov from inception to December 29, 2023. Randomized controlled trials of semaglutide in patients with T2DM, obesity, or overweight were included. The primary outcome was AF occurrence. Relative risks (RRs) with 95 % confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated for the overall population and subgroups. RESULTS: Twenty-one trials comprising 25957 patients were included. In the overall pooled analysis, semaglutide decreased AF occurrence compared to control drugs (RR 0.70, 95 % CI 0.52-0.95). This result was consistent in trials using other antihyperglycemic medications as controls (RR 0.43, 95 % CI 0.21-0.89), but not in placebo-controlled trials (RR 0.77, 95 % CI 0.56-1.07). The outcome was favorable for patients with T2DM (RR 0.71, 95 % CI 0.52-0.97), but not for patients with overweight or obesity (RR 0.56, 95 % CI 0.18-1.73). Results varied by type of semaglutide, with oral semaglutide showing an RR of 0.49 (95 % CI 0.25-0.97) and subcutaneous semaglutide showing an RR of 0.77 (95 % CI 0.55-1.07). CONCLUSION: Semaglutide was associated with a reduced risk of AF occurrence in the overall analysis. Favorable outcomes were observed in subsets using other antihyperglycemic medications as controls, in patients with T2DM, and with oral semaglutide.

ABSTRACT

The utility of a universal DNA 'barcode' fragment (658 base pairs of the Cytochrome C Oxidase I [COI] gene) has been established as a useful tool for species identification, and widely criticized as one for understanding the evolutionary history of a group. Large amounts of COI sequence data have been produced that hold promise for rapid species identification, for example, for biosecurity. The fruit fly tribe Dacini holds about a thousand species, of which 80 are pests of economic concern. We generated a COI reference library for 265 species of Dacini containing 5601 sequences that span most of the COI gene using circular consensus sequencing. We compared distance metrics versus monophyly assessments for species identification and although we found a 'soft' barcode gap around 2% pairwise distance, the exceptions to this rule dictate that a monophyly assessment is the only reliable method for species identification. We found that all fragments regularly used for Dacini fruit fly identification >450 base pairs long provide similar resolution. 11.3% of the species in our dataset were non-monophyletic in a COI tree, which is mostly due to species complexes. We conclude with recommendations for the future generation and use of COI libraries. We revise the generic assignment of Dacus transversus stat. rev. Hardy 1982, and Dacus perpusillus stat. rev. Drew 1971 and we establish Dacus maculipterus White 1998 syn. nov. as a junior synonym of Dacus satanas Liang et al. 1993.

ABSTRACT

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a serious dementia afflicting aging population and is characterized by cognitive decline, amyloid-ß plaques, and neurofibrillary tangles. AD substantially impairs the life quality of the victims and poses a heavy burden on the society at large. The number of people with dementia due to AD, prodromal AD, and preclinical AD is estimated to stand at roughly 3.2, 69, and 315 million worldwide, respectively. Current clinical diagnosis is based on clinical symptoms, and clinical research demonstrated that positron emission tomography (PET) and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers had excellent diagnostic performance. However, the application of CSF biomarker tests and PET are restricted by the invasiveness and high cost. The presence of clinical symptoms means that AD pathology has been progressing for many years, and only a few drugs have been approved for the traetemnt of AD. Therefore, early diagnosis is extremely important for controlling the outcomes caused by AD. In this review, we provided an overview of developing clinical diagnostic criteria, diagnostic strategies under clinical research, developing blood based-biomarker assays, and promising nanotechnologically-based assays.

ABSTRACT

International relations (IR) have great uncertainty and instability. Bad IR or conflicts will bring about heavy economic losses and widespread social unrest domestically and internationally. The accurate prediction for bilateral relations can support decision making for timely responses, which will be used to find ways to maintain development in the complex international situation. An international relations quantitative evaluation model (IRQEM) is proposed by integrating a variety of research models and methods like the interpretative structural modeling method (ISM), Bayesian network (BN) model, the Bayesian search (BS), and the expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm, which is novel for IR research. Factors from several different fields are identified as BN nodes. Each node is assigned different state values. The hierarchical structure of these BN nodes is obtained by ISM. The data collection of 192 cases is used to construct the BN model by GeNIe 4.0. The IRQEM can be used to evaluate the influence of emergencies on IR. The critical factors of IR also can be explored through our proposed model. Results show that the prediction of bilateral relations under emergencies can be realized by updating the indicator set when emergencies occur. The capability to anticipate threats of IR changes is advanced by optimizing the reporting information of IR forecasting through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, charts, and texts. Relevant analysis results can provide support for national security decision making.

BACKGROUND: Prior studies have investigated cardiac anatomy and clinical parameters as predictors for pulmonary vein and non-pulmonary vein triggers. OBJECTIVES: To assess the link between the descending aorta to left inferior pulmonary vein (Dao-LIPV) distance and the occurrence of triggers and drivers in atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation procedures. METHODS: Drug-refractory AF patients who underwent first-time index catheter ablation from January 2010 to December 2019 were retrospectively assembled. The Dao-LIPV distance was measured from pre-ablation pulmonary vein computed tomography. Patients were categorized based on the presence of LIPV triggers and/or drivers. Multivariate logistic regression was used to identify risk factors. RESULTS: A total of 886 consecutive patients with drug-refractory AF were studied, and 63 (7.1%) patients were identified to have LIPV triggers and/or drivers. The Dao-LIPV distance had a better predictive performance (AUC: 0.70) compared to persistent AF (AUC: 0.57). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that Dao-LIPV distance ≤ 2.5 mm (Odds ratio [OR] 3.96 [95% CI 2.15-7.29], p <0.001) and persistent AF (OR 1.73 [95% CI 1.02-2.94], p=0.044) were independent predictors for the presence of LIPV triggers and/or drivers. A risk score model was established to predict the probability of LIPV triggers or drivers with persistent AF (10.2%), Dao-LIPV distance ≤ 2.5mm (11.4%), and both (15.0%). CONCLUSIONS: The close proximity of the Dao-LIPV was correlated to the presence of LIPV triggers or drivers. We developed a risk score model indicating that persistent AF and Dao-LIPV distances ≤ 2.5mm significantly increase the risk of LIPV triggers/drivers, aiding electrophysiologists in preparing for and performing catheter ablation more effectively.

Increasing evidences implicate vital role of neuronal damage in the development of hepatic encephalopathy (HE). Neurofilament light chain (NfL) is the main frame component of neurons and is closely related to axonal radial growth and neuronal structural stability. We hypothesized that NfL as a biomarker of axonal injury may contribute to early diagnosis of HE. This study recruited 101 patients with liver cirrhosis, 10 healthy individuals, and 7 patients with Parkinson's disease. Minimal hepatic encephalopathy (MHE) was diagnosed using psychometric hepatic encephalopathy score. Serum NfL levels were measured by the electrochemiluminescence immunoassay. Serum NfL levels in cirrhotic patients with MHE were significantly higher than cirrhotic patients without MHE, and increased accordingly with the aggravation of HE. Serum NfL levels were associated with psychometric hepatic encephalopathy score, Child-Pugh score, model for end-stage liver disease score, and days of hospitalization. Additionally, serum NfL was an independent predictor of MHE (odds ratio of 1.020 (95% CI 1.005-1.034); P = 0.007). The discriminative abilities of serum NfL were high for identifying MHE (AUC of 0.8134 (95% CI 0.7130-0.9219); P ˂ 0.001) and OHE (AUC of 0.8852 (95% CI 0.8117-0.9587); P ˂ 0.001). Elevated serum NfL levels correlated with the presence of MHE and associated with the severity of HE, are expected to be a biomarker in patients with cirrhosis. Our study suggested that neuronal damage may play a critical role in the development of HE.

ABSTRACT

An unusual crystalline porous framework constructed from four types of cages, including all-inorganic Keggin-type polyoxometalate (POM) cages [H3W12O40]5-, organic hexamethylenetetramine (Hmt) cages, nanosized silver-Hmt coordination cages, and giant POM-silver-Hmt cages, was hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. The framework features a highly symmetrical structure with one-dimensional nanoscale channels and holds good thermal/solvent stability, which endow it with proton conduction properties and heterogeneous catalytic activity for pyrazole. This paper not only contributes to broadening the structural diversity of cage-based crystalline porous framework materials but also sheds new light on the design of new functional framework materials.

ABSTRACT

Solution Gated Graphene Field-Effect Transistors (SGGT) are eagerly anticipated as an amplification platform for fabricating advanced ultra-sensitive sensors, allowing significant modulation of the drain current with minimal gate voltage. However, few studies have focused on light-matter interplay gating control for SGGT. Herein, this challenge is addressed by creating an innovative photoelectrochemical solution-gated graphene field-effect transistor (PEC-SGGT) functionalized with enzyme cascade reactions (ECR) for Organophosphorus (OPs) detection. The ECR system, consisting of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and CuBTC nanomimetic enzymes, selectively recognizes OPs and forms o-phenylenediamine (oPD) oligomers sediment on the PEC electrode, with layer thickness related to the OPs concentration, demonstrating time-integrated amplification. Under light stimulation, the additional photovoltage generated on the PEC gate electrode is influenced by the oPD oligomers sediment layer, creating a differentiated voltage distribution along the gate path. PEC-SGGT, inherently equipped with built-in amplification circuits, sensitively captures gate voltage changes and delivers output with an impressive thousandfold current gain. The seamless integration of these three amplification modes in this advanced sensor allows a good linear range and highly sensitive detection of OPs, with a detection limit as low as 0.05 pm. This work provides a proof-of-concept for the feasibility of light-assisted functionalized gate-controlled PEC-SGGT for small molecule detection.

ABSTRACT

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a current global public health problem due to its increasing resistance to the most recent antibiotic therapies. One critical approach is to develop ways to revitalize existing antibiotics. Here, we show that the phytogenic compound cinnamaldehyde (CIN) and ß-lactam antibiotic combinations can functionally synergize and resensitize clinical MRSA isolates to ß-lactam therapy and inhibit MRSA biofilm formation. Mechanistic studies indicated that the CIN potentiation effect on ß-lactams was primarily the result of inhibition of the mecA expression by targeting the staphylococcal accessory regulator sarA. CIN alone or in combination with ß-lactams decreased sarA gene expression and increased SarA protein phosphorylation that impaired SarA binding to the mecA promoter element and downregulated virulence genes such as those encoding biofilm, α-hemolysin, and adhesin. Perturbation of SarA-mecA binding thus interfered with PBP2a biosynthesis and this decreased MRSA resistance to ß-lactams. Furthermore, CIN fully restored the anti-MRSA activities of ß-lactam antibiotics in vivo in murine models of bacteremia and biofilm infections. Together, our results indicated that CIN acts as a ß-lactam adjuvant and can be applied as an alternative therapy to combat multidrug-resistant MRSA infections.

Euphorbia lathyris L. (EL) is a traditional poisonous herbal medicine used to treat dropsy, ascites, amenorrhea, anuria and constipation. Processing to reduce toxicity of EL is essential for its safe and effective application. However, there is little known regarding the molecular mechanism of reducing toxicity after EL processing. This research aimed to screen the differential markers for EL and PEL, explore the differential mechanisms of inflammatory injury induced by EL and processed EL (PEL) to expound the mechanism of alleviating toxicity after EL processing. The results showed that 15 potential biomarkers, mainly belonging to diterpenoids, were screened to distinguish EL from PEL. EL promoted the expressions of TLR4, NLRP3, NF-κB p65, IL-1ß and TNF-α, increased lipid rafts abundance and promoted TLR4 positioning to lipid rafts. Meanwhile, EL decreased LXRα and ABCA1 expression, and reduced cholesterol efflux. In contrast to EL, the effects of PEL on these indicators were markedly weakened. In addition, Euphorbia factors L1, L2, and L3 affected LXRα, ABCA1, TLR4, NLRP3, NF-κB p65, TNF-α and IL-1ß expression, influenced cholesterol efflux and lipid rafts abundance, and interfered with the colocalization of TLR4 and lipid rafts. The inflammatory injury caused by processed EL was significantly weaker than that caused by crude EL, and reduction of Euphorbia factors L1, L2, and L3 as well as attenuation of inflammatory injury participated in processing-based detoxification of EL. Our results provide valuable insights into the attenuated mechanism of EL processing and will guide future research on the processing mechanism of toxic traditional Chinese medicine.

To overcome the severe problems arising from the insufficient light absorption of ultrathin self-assembly active layers and the high cost use of atomic force deposition (ALD)-grown low-leakage-current transport layers, we successfully developed a low-cost, simple and facile strategy of floating-film transfer and multilayer lamination (FFTML) for constructing highly-efficient ALD-free broadband polarization-sensitive organic photodetectors (OPDs) with the two commonly used structures of donor/acceptor planar heterojunction (PHJ) and donor:acceptor multilayer bulk heterojunction (BHJ). It was found that the PHJ-based polarization-sensitive OPD by FFTML possesses a low dark current due to the high carrier injection barrier, indicating it is more suitable to be applied in low polarized light detection scenarios. In contrast, the BHJ-based device by FFTML has a higher spectral responsivity in the whole wavelength due to more photo-excitons transferred to the donor:acceptor interface and dissociated into photoexcited carrirers. Furthermore, the film thickness, which is tuned by increasing lamination number of BHJ layers, has a big effect on the polarization-sensitive photodetection performance. The polarization-sensitive 4-BHJ OPD by FFTML finally achieved a high specific detectivity of 8.33 × 1010Jones, which was much higher than 2.72 × 1010Jones for the 2-BHJ device at 0 V. This work demonstrates that layer-by-layer lamination of self-assembly films can effectively improve the polarized-light detection performance, contributing significantly to the rapid development of the field.

BACKGROUND: In the post-pandemic era of higher education, hybrid teaching has emerged as a prevalent approach and is anticipated to persist as a defining trend in the future teaching reforms worldwide. However, despite its widespread adoption, certain limitations have become apparent. The objective of this study is to identify the genuine factors that impact students' performance, explore strategies that teachers can employ to enhance their teaching effectiveness and enhance students' academic self-efficacy. METHODS: The study was performed among undergraduate medical students enrolled in Physiology course at Harbin Medical University in 2020 and 2022. Since 2020, influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, a hybrid teaching method based on an established offline teaching model called BOPPPS was implemented. A questionnaire was performed in both 2020 and 2022 to evaluate students' satisfaction and efficiency of our hybrid teaching. A comparison was also carried out on the final examination scores of students majoring in Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy across the years 2020 to 2022. RESULTS: The final examination scores of students in 2022 were significantly lower than those in 2020 and 2021 both in Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy majors. There was also a decrease of the score in students of Clinical Pharmacy in 2021 compared to 2020. The questionnaire indicated that over half (52.0%) of the students in 2022 preferred offline teaching method, in contrast to 39.1% in 2020. There were obvious changes in students from 2020 to 2022 about the disadvantages of hybrid teaching, the improvement of students' learning ability and the duration of students' autonomous learning. Through cross statistical analysis, online learning styles, learning ability improvement and students' learning burden have been identified as the primary factors influencing their preference for future teaching method. CONCLUSIONS: Hybrid teaching is still a necessary trend in the future teaching reform base on its multiple advantages. However, in order to improve the teaching outcomes and foster students' participation and learning initiatives, it is imperative to undertake additional reforms in the future teaching process.

The gut microbiota is essential for providing colonization resistance against pathogens. Dietary sugars markedly shift the composition of the intestinal microbiota and alter host susceptibility to enteric infections. Here, we demonstrate the effect of L-arabinose on bacterial infection by using a mouse infection model with Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium (S. Tm). In the presence of microbiota, L-arabinose induces a dramatic expansion of Enterobacteriaceae, thereby decreasing the microbiota diversity and causing more severe systemic infection. However, L-arabinose supplementation does not alter the disease progression of Salmonella infection in a microbiota-depleted mouse model. More importantly, short-term supplementation of L-arabinose fails to exert anti-diabetic effects in Salmonella-infected hyperglycemia mice and still promotes infection. Overall, our work reveals that a high intake of dietary L-arabinose supports a bloom of Enterobacteriaceae in Salmonella-infected gut, further accelerating the process of systemic infection.IMPORTANCEL-arabinose is a promising natural sweetener and food additive for the regulation of hyperglycemia. Since diabetic subjects are more susceptible to infections, the safety of dietary L-arabinose in diabetic patients experiencing infection remains a concern. Our findings reveal that L-arabinose exacerbates Salmonella infection outcome by inducing gut microbiota dysbiosis in mice. High dietary intake of L-arabinose may be deleterious for diabetic individuals undergoing infection.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: To investigate the effects of chronic periodontitis on the quality of life and severity of the disease in patients with bronchiectasis. METHODS: A total of 80 bronchiectasis patients admitted to The Fourth Hospital of Changsha between April 2021 and April 2023 were randomly selected. Patients were divided into two groups according to whether they had moderate to severe chronic periodontitis: bronchiectasis with periodontitis group (n=45) and bronchiectasis without periodontitis group (n=35). The Qualify of Life Questionnaire for Bronchiectasi(QoL-B) was used to assess patients' quality. The severity of the disease was assessed using the Bronchiectasis Severity Index (BSI), and serum levels of hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hsCRP), tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-alpha), and interleukin-6(IL-6) were detected. SPSS 20.0 software package was used for data analysis. RESULTS: The QoL-B score of bronchiectasis with periodontitis group was significantly lower than that of bronchiectasis without periodontitis group, and the BSI score was significantly higher than that of bronchiectasis without periodontitis group(P<0.05). The levels of hs-CRP, TNF-alpha and IL-6 in bronchiectasis with periodontitis were significantly higher than those in bronchiectasis without periodontitis group(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Chronic periodontitis shows significant adverse effects on both quality of life and disease severity in patients with bronchiectasis, which may be related to the common mechanism of inflammatory response between the two kinds of diseases.

ABSTRACT

The effects and underlying mechanisms of adolescent exposure to combined environmental hazards on cognitive function remain unclear. Here, using a combined exposure model, we found significant cognitive decline, hippocampal neuronal damage, and neuronal senescence in mice exposed to cadmium (Cd) and high-fat diet (HFD) during adolescence. Furthermore, we observed a significant downregulation of Sirtuin 6 (SIRT6) expression in the hippocampi of co-exposed mice. UBCS039, a specific SIRT6 activator, markedly reversed the above adverse effects. Further investigation revealed that co-exposure obviously reduced the levels of La ribonucleoprotein 7 (LARP7), disrupted the interaction between LARP7 and SIRT6, ultimately decreasing SIRT6 expression in mouse hippocampal neuronal cells. Overexpression of Larp7 reversed the combined exposure-induced SIRT6 decrease and senescence in mouse hippocampal neuronal cells. Additionally, the results showed notably elevated levels of Larp7 m6A and YTH domain family protein 2 (YTHDF2) in mouse hippocampal neuronal cells treated with the combined hazards. Ythdf2 short interfering RNA, RNA immunoprecipitation, and RNA stability assays further demonstrated that YTHDF2 mediated the degradation of Larp7 mRNA under combined exposure. Collectively, adolescent co-exposure to Cd and HFD causes hippocampal senescence and cognitive decline in mice by inhibiting LARP7-mediated SIRT6 expression in an m6A-dependent manner.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are covalently closed, single-stranded RNAs that play critical roles in various biological processes and diseases, including cancers. However, the functions and mechanisms of circRNAs in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) need further clarification. Here, we identified and confirmed that circATF6 is downregulated in HCC tissues and negatively associated with the overall survival of HCC patients. Ectopic overexpression of circATF6 inhibits malignant phenotypes of HCC cells in vitro and in vivo, while knockdown of circATF6 had opposite effects. Mechanistically, we found that circATF6 bound to calreticulin (CALR) protein and acted as a scaffold to enhance the interaction of CALR with calpain2 (CAPN2), which promoted the degradation of CALR by its enzymatic activity. Moreover, we found that circATF6 inhibited HCC cells by suppressing CALR-mediated wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway. Taken together, our findings suggest that circATF6 is a potential prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for HCC.

Background: The rate at which the anticancer drug paclitaxel is cleared from the body markedly impacts its dosage and chemotherapy effectiveness. Importantly, paclitaxel clearance varies among individuals, primarily because of genetic polymorphisms. This metabolic variability arises from a nonlinear process that is influenced by multiple single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Conventional bioinformatics methods struggle to accurately analyze this complex process and, currently, there is no established efficient algorithm for investigating SNP interactions. Methods: We developed a novel machine-learning approach called GEP-CSIs data mining algorithm. This algorithm, an advanced version of GEP, uses linear algebra computations to handle discrete variables. The GEP-CSI algorithm calculates a fitness function score based on paclitaxel clearance data and genetic polymorphisms in patients with nonsmall cell lung cancer. The data were divided into a primary set and a validation set for the analysis. Results: We identified and validated 1184 three-SNP combinations that had the highest fitness function values. Notably, SERPINA1, ATF3 and EGF were found to indirectly influence paclitaxel clearance by coordinating the activity of genes previously reported to be significant in paclitaxel clearance. Particularly intriguing was the discovery of a combination of three SNPs in genes FLT1, EGF and MUC16. These SNPs-related proteins were confirmed to interact with each other in the protein-protein interaction network, which formed the basis for further exploration of their functional roles and mechanisms. Conclusion: We successfully developed an effective deep-learning algorithm tailored for the nuanced mining of SNP interactions, leveraging data on paclitaxel clearance and individual genetic polymorphisms.

ABSTRACT

Nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) is an important RNA quality control pathway. It aids in degrading harmful erroneous mRNA, thereby preserving a stable and healthy internal environment. In this study, we employed CRISPR/Cas9 and amiRNA technology to generate knock out or knock down mutants of realted genes in the rice NMD pathway. Through transcriptome sequencing and observing phenotype changes, the study explored the impact of NMD pathway defects on rice gene expression and alternative splicing. The results suggest that even partial defects will induce phenotypic changes such as plant height and pollen vitality to different degrees, showing necessity of NMD factors. Gene expression analysis reveals that most differentially expressed genes are upregulated in the mutants, with ko-upf1-like and kd-upf1 defects having a more significant impact than kd-upf2 and kd-upf3. Specifically, NMD pathway defects result in increased expression levels of rice defense response-related genes and decreased expression levels of secondary metabolism-related genes, with a wider range of affected genes observed in 60-day-old senescence mutants. Transcript analysis indicates that different NMD related genes defects alter hundreds of alternative splicing events, mostly enriched in genes involving alternative splicing regulatory pathways. Approximately half of these events are shared among different mutants, and a substantial number of affected transcripts show NMD target features. NMD could affect both the transcript abundance and their splicing subtypes to regulate the defense response and early-senescence associated pathways, which plays a vital role in rice growth and reproduction.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: Dyadic communication positively affects marital relationships, good relationships help restore body image, and this study explores the relationship between dyadic communication and body image of breast cancer patients. METHODS: Cross-sectional correlation design with convenience sampling was used to recruit participants from two outpatient medical centers. Demographic information, medical records, and two questionnaires, dyadic communicative resilience scale (DCRS) and body image scale (BIS), were administered. Participants comprised women with breast cancer and their partners. Multiple regression analysis was performed to control related factors to understand the association between the DCRS of the women with breast cancer and their partners and the women's body image. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed to analyze between three categories of couple's communication status (consistent and good, consistent and poor, and inconsistent) and body image of women with breast cancer. RESULTS: Data were obtained from 162 women with breast cancer and 90 partners. The study found (1) significant correlation between the women's perception of their communication and body image, (2) humor in partner's perception of their communication was significantly associated with women's body image, and (3) dyadic communication that both patients and partners were consistent and good in the domain of keeping pre-cancer routines and attractiveness was associated with women's body image. CONCLUSION: The correlation between dyadic communication and the body image of women with breast cancer is significant. Improving communication specific on keeping pre-cancer routines and attractiveness between women with breast cancer and their partners could enhance the women's body image.
