ABSTRACT
A random select of 2350 heavy engineering industry workers was exposed to an epidemiologic examination. Cardiopulmonary functional resources were dramatically decreased in the examinees with epidemiologically proven chronic bronchitis. Functional status of the respiratory system appeared to correlate with the risk factors in common with certain noninfections diseases. High prevalence of smoking among the chronic bronchitis patients, in women to the major extent, makes the anti-smoking struggle actual.
