ABSTRACT

In studying immunity in laboratory rats of different generations (P, F1 and F2) brought up in Chernobyl in 1989-1990 the authors have revealed the development of leuko- and lymphopenia; decrease in the absolute content of immunocompetent cells bearing Fc receptors to IgG; stable and long-lasting suppression of blood NK cell activity; reduction of antibody-dependent cytotoxicity; and changed ability of blood lymphocytes to interact contactly with allogenic mast cells. The most considerable disorders have been found in 6- and 9-month-old F1 rats and in 3- and 6-month-old F2 rats.

ABSTRACT

Acute experimental intoxication in rats produced essential changes of the absorptive capacity of neutrophilic blood granulocytes, proteolytic activity, level of proteinase inhibitors and content of blood plasma fibrinogen. Female rats showed a distinct reduction of the activity of natural killer cells. Alcohol had no essential effect on the production of hemolytic antibodies as well as reagins in the respiratory organs.

ABSTRACT

The characteristics (amplitude, latency) of two types of evoked potentials, action potential of the 8th nerve recorded at the cochlea round window and sonomotor evoked potential recorded from the postauricular region and the back of the guinea pigs were studied in response to sound stimulation. The degree and type of interrelation between the parameters of the auditory evoked potentials were established employing the method of correlation-regression analysis. A close linear dependence was established for amplitude values ( r = 0.93) of the action potential and the sonomotor potential irrespective of the recording site of the latter. The similar dependence (r = 0.91) was established when analysing the latency of the action potential and the evoked sonomotor potential, if the latter was in the postauricular region. The performed mathematical simulation permitted justifying the correction of disturbed functions of the auditory system.
